    학위논문(박사) - 한국과학기술원 : 재료공학과, 1993.8, [ vi, 204 p. ]The behaviour of hydrogen adsorption on palladium has been investigated in chapter III by ac impedance measurements in 0.1 M NaOH solution of pH = 13 at 298 K. The electrode impedance has been measured by superimposing an ac voltage of 5mV amplitude ranging between 10110^{-1} and 10410^4 Hz on a dc potential range -0.76 to 0.44 V(standard hydrogen electrode(she)). The equivalent circuit representing the hydrogen adsorption and diffusion into palladium deposit is proposed from the analysis of the frequency dependence of electrode admittance. The capacitance, arising from the adsorbed hydrogen, has been determined as a function of applied potential by complex non-linear least squares (CNLS) curve fitting method based on the proposed equivalent circuit. Detailed analysis of the Warburg impedance could not be given due partly to the lack of data in low frequencies and partly to the complicated boundary condition for hydrogen bulk kiffusion, however, the diffusion process associated with the adsorbed hydrogen was confirmed. In chapter IV, Faradaic admittance of hydrogen absorption reaction (h.a.r.) on metal membrane electrode has been derived on the basis of "two models" of the h.a.r. under the permeable boundary condition by using an extension of Armstrong``s kinetic approach. In the case of the h.a.r through adsorbed phase (model A), two limiting cases of the Faradaic admittance are considered depending upon the magnitude of rate of hydrogen transfer from bulk to metal surface. One involves the diffusion-controlled h.a.r.for fast rate of hydrogen transfer and the other is the interface-controlled h.a.r. for slow rate of hydrogen transfer from bulk to metal surface. Depressing and/or tailing of the second semicircle, often found in the complexplane impedance spectra for hydrogen evolution reaction (h.a.r), is fairly explaned by the diffusion-controlled h.a.r.     Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     Long-tail Mixup for Extreme Multi-label Classification

    Extreme multi-label classification (XMC) aims at finding multiple relevant labels for a given sample from a huge label set at the industrial scale. The XMC problem inherently poses two challenges: scalability and label sparsity - the number of labels is too large, and labels follow the long-tail distribution. To resolve these problems, we propose a novel Mixup-based augmentation method for long-tail labels, called TailMix. Building upon the partition-based model, TailMix utilizes the context vectors generated from the label attention layer. It first selectively chooses two context vectors using the inverse propensity score of labels and the label proximity graph representing the co-occurrence of labels. Using two context vectors, it augments new samples with the long-tail label to improve the accuracy of long-tail labels. Despite its simplicity, experimental results show that TailMix consistently outperforms other augmentation methods on three benchmark datasets, especially for long-tail labels in terms of two metrics, PSP@k and PSN@k

    Variations on the Author

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
