Niemcza diorites and moznodiorites (Sudetes, SW Poland): a record of changing geotectonic setting at ca. 340 Ma

Granites sensu lato in the Sudetes intruded in several episodes during the Variscan orogeny recording different stages of crust and mantle evolution. Correlating precise ages with geochemistry of the Variscan granites provides information on the evolution of these sources within the Variscan orogen. The Variscan intrusive rocks from the Niemcza Zone (Bohemian Massif, Sudetes, SW Poland) include undeformed dioritic to syenitic rocks and magmatically foliated granodiorites. In this study we analysed low SiO2 (48–53 wt.%) monzodioritic rocks from Przedborowa and Koźmice. The monzodiorites contain late-magmatic zircons with ages of 341.8 ± 1.9 Ma for Przedborowa and 335.6 ± 2.3 Ma for Koźmice, interpreted as emplacement ages of the dioritic magmas. Older Przedborowa rocks are lower in K, Mg, Rb and Ni than the Koźmice rocks and similar compositional trend is also observed in the Central Bohemian Plutonic Complex. The implication is that the mantle underlying the Niemcza Zone became more enriched from ca. 342 to ca. 336 Ma, probably following the collision of the Saxothuringian and Moldanubian/Lugian domains. The magmatism related to the collision occurred ca. 12 Ma later than that in the Central Bohemian Plutonic Complex, but was accompanied by a similar change in magma chemistry from high-K (Przedborowa) to shoshonitic (Koźmice, Kośmin enclaves) and probably to ultrapotassic (Wilków Wielki)

학위논문(석사) - 한국과학기술원 : 전기 및 전자공학과, 2011.2, [ iv, 37 p. ]In this thesis, we consider K-user MIMO interference channel under channel uncertainty. For improvement of performance under channel uncertainty, we set two optimization problem for each transmitter and each receiver. Proposed algorithm designs transmit beamforming matrices to minimize interference leakage. Receive beamforming matrices are designed for minimizing the worst per-stream MSE at each receiver. Proposed algorithm consider interference alignment simultaneously with improvement of sum rate performance. Through this fact, we explain the relation with minimizing the worst per-stream MSE and maximizing average sum rate. Also we explain fairness. We simulate proposed algorithm and compare the results with other interference alignment algorithm. We show that proposed algorithm has better performance on fairness and average sum rate.한국과학기술원 : 전기 및 전자공학과

Retinoic acid inhibits white adipogenesis by disrupting GADD45A-mediated Zfp423 DNA demethylation

© The Author (2017). Retinoic acid (RA), a bioactive metabolite of Vitamin A, is a critical mediator of cell differentiation. RA blocks adipogenesis, but mechanisms remain to be established. ZFP423 is a key transcription factor maintaining white adipose identity. We found that RA inhibits Zfp423 expression and adipogenesis via blocking DNA demethylation in the promoter of Zfp423, a process mediated by growth arrest and DNA-damage-inducible protein alpha (GADD45A). RA induces the partnering between retinoic acid receptor (RAR) and tumor suppressor inhibitor of growth protein 1 (ING1), which prevents the formation of GADD45A and ING1 complex necessary for locus-specific Zfp423 DNA demethylation. In vivo, Vitamin A supplementation prevents obesity, downregulates Gadd45a expression, and reduces GADD45A binding and DNA demethylation in the Zfp423 promoter. Inhibition of Zfp423 expression due to RA contributes to the enhanced brown adipogenesis. In summary, RA inhibits white adipogenesis by inducing RAR and ING1 interaction and inhibiting Gadd45a expression, which prevents GADD45A-mediated DNA demethylation

Mechano Chemical Process (MCP) skips the calcinations steps at an intermediate temperature that is always required in the conventional solid-state reaction because forming phase from raw powder is activated by mechanical energy. In this study, we prepared (Pb, La) nanopowder with perovskite structure by only high energy MCP. Especially, the PLT nanopowder was synthesized without any thermal treatment using oxides, not salts as raw powder. This process is also very simple due to dry milling method, unnecessary to dry of powder. The oxide powder was milled up to 12 hr at intervals of an hour using MCP and the pure PLT phase of perovskite structure was formed after milling time of 3 hr. And the average particle size was 20 nm with narrow distribution after milling time of 3 hr from raw powder of several with inhomogeneous distribution

Trigger Study on the AMoRE-Pilot Detector

We present a systematic trigger study for the Advanced Molybdenum-based Rare process Experiment (AMoRE), an international project searching for the neutrinoless double beta decay ((Formula presented.)) of (Formula presented.). AMoRE utilizes a heat and light detection method at millikelvin temperatures. A detector module of AMoRE is composed of a large crystal absorber and metallic magnetic calorimeter temperature sensors. We applied a software filter with various conditions to the continuously saved data from the current AMoRE setup. With a trigger level set to 5 times the standard deviation of the noise signals resulting from a Butterworth filter, an energy threshold, defined as the energy of the signals leading to a 50% trigger efficiency, was found to be 2.2 keV. © 2018 Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Natur

High-Throughput Study of the Effects of Celastrol on Activated Fibroblast-Like Synoviocytes from Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis

    No full text
Celastrol, a natural triterpene, exhibits potential anti-inflammatory activity in a variety of inflammatory diseases. The present study aimed to investigate its biological effect on activated fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLSs) from patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The primary FLSs of the synovial tissues were obtained from synovial biopsies of patients with RA. The normal human FLS line (HFLS) was used as a control. After the RA-FLSs and HFLSs were treated with or without celastrol, various approaches, including the WST-1 assay, transwell assay, real-time PCR and ELISA analysis, were performed to estimate proliferation, invasion and expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines of the RA-FLSs. Microarray analysis was performed to screen for differentially expressed genes in RA-FLSs before and after celastrol treatment. The results showed that treatment of celastrol attenuated both the proliferation and invasion of the RA-FLSs. The expression of several chemokine genes, including CCL2, CXCL10, CXCL12, CCR2 and CXCR4, was significantly changed after celastrol treatment. The genes involved in the NF-B signaling pathway appeared to be regulated by celastrol.Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province [2015A030313754]; Shenzhen Science and Technology Plan of Basic Research Projects [JCYJ20150403091443322, JCYJ20170306161757367, JCYJ20170307112009204]SCI(E)ARTICLE9
