Premessa a Per d’Arco Silvio Avalle, «Le forme del canto». Interventi di Lino Leonardi, Pietro G. Beltrami, Maria Sofia Lannutti, Arnaldo Soldani
This collection of essays on medieval poetic metres, edited by Maria Sofia Lannutti following the arrangement conceived by its author, confirms the importance of d'Arco Silvio Avalle's metrical studies. Key issues are the relationship between metrical structure and music in the texts dating back to the origin of romance literatures, the multi-perspective complexity of the approach, and the exemplarity of the methodology used. © 2019 Societa Editrice il Mulino. A YEAR FROM NOW YOU WILL WISH YOU HAD STARTED TODAY - REDEFINING STRATEGY AND ORGANIZATION FOR LIBRARY AUTOMATION AND CONTENT
There is a need for a new breed of organization and strategy in a changed landscape for library systems, acquisitions and discovery. This paper presents Chalmers library re-organization and strategic viewpoint on library systems, acquisitions, collection development and development methodology based on a complete overhaul of those areas to prepare us for a changed paradigm of how library systems and media is delivered to our organization and users.
Software and Data as a Service has changed the infrastructure for library automation and content delivery. Media and systems are merging in the Cloud, with vendor promise of lower total cost of ownership and demand driven acquisition solutions to ease the burden of information overload. We have passed the tipping point and these services are being rolled out to libraries globally. Chalmers University of Technology evaluated its current library automation systems and workflows with the ambition to better understand what we need from the next generation library systems and how to cope with the flood of digital content available to our users and the selection process
St. Sofia in Ohrid, space, structure, forms: Sources
This work comments in particular on studies dealing with the church of St. Sofia in Ohrid. Among them are the monographs of two authors, Barbara Maria Schellewald (Die Arhitektur der Sophien Kirchen in Ohrid, Bon 1986) and Boris Čipan (Sveta Sofija, katedralen hram na ohridskata arhiepiskopija, Skopje 1995). Special attention is devoted to the typological interpretation of St. Sofia, to its initial design as a triple-nave basilica with a dome at the centre. Insightful descriptions are given about the older monuments in the Byzantine capital, Constantinople. Special attention is paid to the external architectonic workmanship. The western façade of St. Sofia demonstrates the features of Late Byzantine architecture, while the eastern façade directly reveals the triple-nave spatial design. That is why this article on St. Sofia contains sketches of the western and the eastern façades, illustrating the features of its architectonic specificities. On the whole, the author presents St. Sofia in Ohrid as a unique work of architecture of the Byzantine region.
Fresh fruit and vegetables: a world of multiple interactions : the case of the Buenos Aires Central Wholesale Market (BACWM)
This research explores ethnographically the everyday social interactions between the ‘users’ of a particular marketplace, the Buenos Aires Central Wholesale Market (BACWM). The ‘users’ of this marketplace are the social actors who work there everyday, and who bring and buy fresh produce. These ´users´ are the ´makers´ of the BACWM since, through their everyday practices, interactions and interpretations and knowledge, they socially construct this hub of distribution
Why is unemployment so high in Bulgaria?
The author seeks to determine the main factors behind poor labor market outcomes in Bulgaria. Unemployment in Bulgaria is high and of long duration. The accumulation of the unemployment stock has been caused by relatively high inflows into unemployment coupled with limited outflows. These features of the Bulgarian labor market are typical of other transition economies in Central Europe and exploring their sources is of broad interest. The author focuses on determinants of and constraints to job creation. He uses data on job creation and job destruction from a survey of employment in all registered firms. He finds that the source of large inflows into unemployment is intensive enterprise restructuring associated with a high pace of job reallocation. However, job creation falls short of job destruction. Three main factors account for the limited job creation and hiring, and thus for low outflows from unemployment: a) The unfriendly business environment, reflected by a low rate of new firm formation, and a relatively small, small and medium enterprise sector. b) Labor market rigidities, including excessive hiring and firing costs. c) Skill and spatial mismatches brought about by enterprise restructuring, as well as low skills and marginalization of the long-term unemployed who cannot successfully compete for new jobs. The author recommends a three pronged strategy to improve labor market performance: (1) removing bureaucratic constraints to entry and expansion of firms; (2) enhancing labor market flexibility through lowering hiring and firing costs; and (3) improving the educational system so as to equip workers with broad and portable skills.Environmental Economics&Policies,Labor Policies,Labor Markets,Public Health Promotion,Health Monitoring&Evaluation,Environmental Economics&Policies,Labor Markets,Health Monitoring&Evaluation,Labor Standards,Banks&Banking Reform

Hacia una poetica feminista Latino Americana: Ana Maria Rodas, Maria Mercedes Carranza y Gioconda Belli
"This dissertation explores the ways in which three contemporary Latin American women--Ana Maria Rodas from Guatemala, Maria Mercedes Carranza from Colombia, and Gioconda Belli from Nicaragua--deal with the traditional concept ""Woman"" in their poetry. Analysis of their textual responses to that concept shows a rejection of religious and cultural myths related to women through the use of irony, a criticism of expected feminine social postures through the use of humor, a subvertion of traditional associations such as land-woman-object, woman-guilt and woman-virtue, a rejection and assimilation of the female body as the ""dark continent,"" a problematization and reconceptualization of motherhood, and a problematization and a re-writing of nationhood. The most important topics in these women's poetry--women's sexuality, the concept of love, and the concept of nationhood--provide the basis for this analysis.""Poetry, as one among various signifying practices in which women's images are produced and reproduced, reflects how these writers are documenting or changing the way contemporary Latin American women see themselves or are seen by society. The poetic ways in which these writers respond to the imposed patriarchal concept ""Woman"" show a growing awareness and assimilation of the feminism of the second wave in Latin America."Made available in DSpace on 2011-05-07T13:11:49Z (GMT).
como Rui.After more than three decades guided by a deep silence in what concerns to the portuguese
presence in Africa and to the decolonization process, it was aimed to analyse the social violence
caused by the returning of thousands of Portuguese people from that continent, after the
revolution of April in 1974, through the study of the narrative “O Retorno” by Dulce Maria
Cardoso.
Having in mind this story, it was intended to recover the memories of what had happened, trying
to think of Rui’s adolescence, its main character, and the way his disturbing and unutterable
returning was experienced by him. Difficulties in his subjacent identity was also an object of
reflexion.
It was one’s intention try to understand the importance of the possible restoring function of writing
to the author concerning preparation of loss, because she had also lived the returning in her
adolescence exactly like Rui had lived
