The genus name is a combination of “ Sino ” (refers to Chinese) with the second part of “ Psiloderces ”. Gender is masculine. Diagnosis. The new genus is distinguished (together with Thaiderces) from all other genera by the absence of an apical protrusion on the male cymbium. It is distinguished from Thaiderces by the presence of one tooth on the cheliceral retromargin and the long embolus of the genital bulb. Description. Cheliceral promargin with lamina, retromargin with one tooth or denticle; genital bulb with long embolus, conductor present or absent, if present then embolus and conductor separated basally; female with two pairs of elongate, curved spermathecae (Fig. 10A). Combinatorial Studies of Fe-Zn and Fe-Si-Zn Alloy Negative Electrodes for Li-ion Batteries
No full textIn this work Fe-Zn and Fe-Si-Zn alloy systems were studied for use as negative electrodes in Li-ion batteries. The aim was to understand the electrochemistry of these alloy systems and observe if the addition of Fe and Zn to Si thin-film electrodes leads to improvements in performance by reducing volume expansion and suppressing formation of Li15Si4. Thin-film libraries were fabricated using combinatorial sputtering. X-Ray diffraction, Mössbauer effect spectroscopy, and electron microprobe were used to characterize structure of the thin-films. Electrochemical cycling measurements were used to determine if alloys based on these systems are practical for use in Li-ion batteries.
Electrochemical performance of Fe-Zn electrodes was strongly dependent on composition. The cycle life and coulombic efficiency improved as Fe concentration in electrodes increased to x = 0.12. A simple macroscopic atom model predicted that compositions with up to 50 atomic percent Fe would be active toward Li. However, the capacity decreased as the iron content increased and the FexZn1-x alloys became completely inactive when the Fe content was above 12 atom %. Ex-situ X-ray diffraction and Mössbauer measurements were used to explain the structural changes that occur during cycling.
A large amorphous region exists in Si-rich compositions of the Fe-Si-Zn system. The electrochemistry of numerous compositions of Fe-Si-Zn materials was determined near room temperature. Voltage curves and capacity of the films was strongly dependent on composition. ICE and hysteresis improved with increasing Si concentration in the electrodes. Both Zn and Fe additions to Si were found to suppress the formation of Li15Si4 during cycling

We then apply these estimates to establish the monotonicity of parabolic frequencies up to correction factors. and it is also the first one especially for the continuous recognition in British English CS. A professional CS interpreter (with
no hearing impairment) is asked to simultaneously utter and encode a set of 97 British English sentences (e.g., I feel it is a time
to move to a new chapter in my career). There are totally 907 monophthongs and 138 diphthongs in the dataset. Color video
images of the interpreter’s upper body are recorded at 25 fps, with a spatial resolution of 720x1280.

Hydrogen dissociation in Li-decorated borophene and borophene hydride: An ab-initio study
No full textLithium (Li) dopants have garnered attention as a means to enhance hydrogen (H2) binding energies and capacities in 2D boron-based materials. However, it is unclear if and how these dopants affect H2 dissociation and chemisorption. Using density functional theory (DFT) and nudged elastic band (NEB) calculations, reaction pathways for H2 dissociation on borophene-hydride and striped-borophene are investigated in the presence of Li dopants. Our results indicate that tuning the Li-loading can increase the reversibility and the rate of dehydrogenation for both borophene-hydride and striped borophene. In particular, for Li-doped borophene-hydride, the heat of reaction for H2 release is reduced by more than 85% compared to the pristine structure (1.97 eV/H2). Our results signify that Li-doping can considerably change the H2 chemisorption properties of striped-borophene and borophene-hydride, and can lead to promising materials for H2 storage.Engineering ThermodynamicsTeam Poulumi De

No full textM.Phil.Li Hongzhang (李鴻章), born in 1823 and deceased in 1901, is a controversial figure in the modern history of China. Some commentators praised him as an indispensable statesman to China, but some others criticized him as a traitor to his country. The life and career of Li Hongzhang has been re-interpreted and re-narrated iteratively since the late Qing Dynasty, and hence, resulting in his constantly altering image.Amongst the vast body of scholastic works on Li Hongzhang, majority of them concentrated on his relationships with China’s modernization and foreign affairs, but they seldom address the shifts in his historical images after his death. How a society frame its history is often influenced by its current socio-economic and political situation. The same historical figure can bear drastically contrasting images in different eras owing to their varied societal situations. By analyzing the changing image of Li Hongzhang from the late Qing Dynasty to the commencement of Second Sino-Japanese War, one can probe into not only the transformations of modern Chinese society, but also the ways various groups interpreted history in response to the societal situations.This thesis examines the appraisals of Li Hongzhang over four essential periods. Firstly, in the late Qing Dynasty, he was framed by the Qing Court as a vital statesman who helped revitalizing and stabilizing the country, and the Qing Court built ancestral halls in his hometown and the provinces that he had previously served for memorized him. Secondly, during the Chinese Revolution (辛亥革命), he was denounced by the revolutionaries as a traitor (漢奸) and his ancestral halls were damaged, if not destroyed, by them. Thirdly, after the Beiyang Warlords (北洋軍閥) assumed power, he was again praised as a sage and his ancestral halls were preserved by the warlords. Fourthly, after the Northern Expedition by Kuomintang, as China and Soviet Union clashed over their territorial boarders in the 1920s, he was condemned as the source of calamities because of his advocacy of uniting with Russia for defending from the Japanese invasion, and the Shanghai division of Kuomintang proposed demolishing all of his ancestral halls across the country. He was further given the labels of surrendering and disunity after the Japanese occupied the three northern provinces in the 1930s.With the Li Gong Ci (李公祠) in Shanghai, an ancestral hall designated specifically for Li Hongzhang, as a case study, this research aims at (1) reviewing how different groups appraised Li Hongzhang between year 1901 and year 1937; (2) analyzing the political ideologies and intentions behind their appraisals; and (3) discussing how the appraisals of historical figures influences the development of memorial spaces.李鴻章（1823-1901）是近代史上滿受爭議的人物，有人認為他是中興名臣，亦有人認為他是賣國漢奸。李鴻章的事蹟自清末以降就不斷被不同群體重新解讀與記述，以致其評價不斷在改變。學術界有關李鴻章之研究汗牛充棟，大多集中於討論李鴻章與中國現代化及外交之關係，從而對其作出評價，但忽略了李鴻章死後歷史形象轉變之研究。社會如何書寫過去的歷史，往往是受到時局所影響。即使是同一個歷史人物，在不同時期亦有著截然不同的歷史形象。透過分析清末到抗日戰爭以前的李鴻章歷史形象之轉變，有助了解近代中國社會的變遷，以及不同群體如何利用歷史來回應時局。本文將李鴻章的評價分成四個時期：一、清末時期，清廷就將其塑造成「輔助中興，削平大難」的忠臣，利用不同方式的紀念李鴻章，在其立功省份及故鄉建立專祠；二、辛亥革命時期，李鴻章被革命黨人批評為「漢奸」，其專祠受到革命黨人的破壞；三、北洋軍閥執政後，將李鴻章重塑為「先賢」，並保留李鴻章的專祠；四、國民黨北伐後，隨著1920 年代末中俄邊境衝突，昔日主張「聯俄抗日」的李鴻章再次被重新評價為國難源頭，國民黨上海市黨部提出廢除全國曾左李專祠。在日本侵佔東三省後，李鴻章成為投降及不團結的象徵。本研究旨在追蹤中國國內如何在1901 年至1937 年間評價李鴻章，分析這些評價背後的政治意義，並以上海的李公祠（李鴻章專祠）的發展為例，討論歷史人物評價如何影響紀念空間的發展。李冠智."2020年8月".Parallel title from Chinese abstract.Thesis M.Phil.
