No full textThe article aims to draw attention to Konrad Tomasz Lewandowski’s Satan and Company. Further Adventure of Satan from the Seventh Grade (2017), the official continuation of Kornel Makuszyńsk’s Satan from the Seventh Grade. Moreover, the author presented a short description of Satan from the Seventh Grade original publication, taking into account the reasons for the current lower level of about Makuszyński. The author shows that Makuszyński’s novel inspired Lewandowski to create an intriguing story, full of surprising twists and turns, set in the cyberworld, important for the contemporary young readers. Satan and Company can be considered a worthy continuation of Makuszyński’s novel, showing a cheerful life philosophy. Lewandowksi provides his readers with humour and optimism that were the hallmarks of Makuszyński’s fiction. In the contemporary world, often difficult, full of sadness and suffering, it seems to be a right way of showing children that despite adversities, it is worth smiling, also while reading a good book

No full textIn the first part of the text entitled Linguistic methods of expressing emotions. Tomasz Raczek about journalist, the author presents Tomasz Raczek’s writing, in particular his feature articles, where the columnist refers to the contemporary social life from the perspective of film and television criticism. In the subsequent parts of the text, the author describes selected components of the history of feature articles and presents some definitions of a feature article, and then focuses on the linguistic aspects of a subjective way of expressing the emotions and feelings accompanying the description of mass media personalities. The author pays a special attention to the techniques used by Raczek, for example putting things very close together in order to show a contrast, using metaphors and anglicisms to describe media personalities. In the last part of the text, the author juxtaposes the previously described techniques of the columnist, sums up the discussions on the linguistic methods of expressing emotions and feelings in Tomasz Raczek’s feature articles
Modeling of Heat Transfer in Microchannel Gas Flow
No full textDue to the existence of a velocity slip and temperature jump on the solid walls, the heat transfer in microchannels significantly differs from the one in the macroscale. In our research, we have focused on the pressure driven gas flows in a simple finite microchannel geometry, with an entrance and an outlet, for low Reynolds (Re<200) and low Knudsen (Kn<0.01) numbers. For such a regime, the slip induced phenomena are strongly connected with the viscous effects. As a result, heat transfer is also significantly altered. For the optimization of flow conditions, we have investigated various temperature gradient configurations, additionally changing Reynolds and Knudsen numbers. The entrance effects, slip flow, and temperature jump lead to complex relations between flow behavior and heat transfer. We have shown that slip effects are generally insignificant for flow behavior. However, two configuration setups (hot wall cold gas and cold wall hot gas) are affected by slip in distinguishably different ways. For the first one, which concerns turbomachinery, the mass flow rate can increase by about 1% in relation to the no-slip case, depending on the wall-gas temperature difference. Heat transfer is more significantly altered. The Nusselt number between slip and no-slip cases at the outlet of the microchannel is increased by about 10%

The text is a presentation and analysis of four, conceptual and funeral orations, which were written by: Stanisław Szałapski SJ, Bartłomiej Sylwiusz SJ, Marek Korona and Mikołaj Ławrynowicz. The first part of the article is a presentation of conceptual structure of orations and as well as analysis of titles and role of mottos from Bible. The second part of article describes Tomasz Zamoyski’s glowing effigy. Author uses rhetorical scheme laudatio personae, which was constructed from circumstances inner (family stock, ancestors, birth, education, attributes of body and soul, actions) and external (family, friends, descendants, time of his life, types of death). Orators built the glowing effigy of Tomasz Zamoyski, and his life presents a humanistic model of human and citizen
