Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

No full textOvim radom obrađena je teme karakterizacije toplinsko i toplinsko-kemijski obrađenih čelika. Sam rad se sastoji od teoretskog i praktičnog dijela, uz koji je obavljena i analiza rezultata dobivenih u praktičnom dijelu. Teoretski dio se sastoji od samog opisa toplinske obrade i njenih parametra, opisa toplinske obrade kaljenjem i važnosti metastabilnog Fe-Fe3C i TTT dijagrama za sami postupak. Objašnjena su svojstva zakaljivosti i prokaljivosti i navedeni i razrađeni ostali postupci toplinske obrade cjelovitog volumena. Također u teoretskom dijelu su opisani postupci obrade površinskim modificiranjem nitriranje, nitrokarburiranje, boriranje i indukcijsko kaljenje.
U praktičnom dijelu rada provedena je metalografska priprema toplinski i toplinsko-kemijski obrađenih uzoraka, analiza njihove mikrostrukture pomoću svjetlosnog mikroskopa i mjerenje mikrotvrdoće kaljenih uzoraka čelika s različitim udjelima ugljika. Također je provedena analiza utjecaja ugljika na mikrostrukturu i izmjerenu tvrdoću za uzorke obrađene kaljenjem i iste uzorke u normaliziranom stanju.The topic of this paper is the characterization of heat-treated and thermochemically treated steels. The paper itself consists of a theoretical and a practical part, along with which an analysis of the results obtained in the practical part was also carried out. The theoretical part consists of the description of the heat treatment and its parameters, the description of hardening, and the importance of the metastable Fe-Fe3C and TTT diagram for the procedure itself. Hardenability is defined as the property of steel. Other procedures for heat treatment are listed and elaborated. Also, processes of surface modification, nitriding, nitrocarburizing, boriding, and induction hardening are described.
In the practical part of the paper, metallographic preparation of thermally and thermochemically treated samples was done, analysing their microstructures using a microscope and measuring the microhardness of hardened samples with different carbon contents. Finally, an analysis of the influence of carbon content on the microstructure and the measured hardness was also carried out for the hardened samples and the same samples in the normalized state

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Influence of welding parameters in MIG/MAG technology on the workpiece geometry in additive manufacturing
No full textOvaj diplomski rad bavi se temom utjecaja parametara u MIG/MAG postupku navarivanja na geometrijska svojstva izratka u kontekstu aditivne proizvodnje. Rad se sastoji od teoretskog i eksperimentalnog dijela. U teoretskom dijelu, na temelju podataka iz navedene literature, opisan je postupak aditivne proizvodnje pomoću MIG/MAG tehnologije navarivanja. Kratak uvod daje pregled aditivne proizvodnje i njezinih karakteristika. Definirana je aditivna proizvodnja metalnih izradaka te je prikazana podjela postupaka aditivne proizvodnje metala. Glavni dio teoretskog dijela opisuje aditivnu proizvodnju električnim lukom i žicom (WAAM), te su navedeni primjeri metala koji se mogu koristiti kao polazni materijali za WAAM. Navedene su karakteristike postupka, parametri te njegove prednosti i nedostaci. Također su navedene primjene proizvoda izrađenih ovom tehnologijom, a tehnologija je uspoređena s konvencionalnim proizvodnim tehnologijama te s drugima aditivnim tehnologijama. U eksperimentalnom dijelu rada, automatiziranim MIG postupkom i pomoću žice za zavarivanje austenitnih nehrđajućih čelika, izrađena su dva uzorka uz primjenu različitih procesnih parametara. Provedeno je ispitivanje geometrijskih karakteristika površine, odnosno topografije ispitivanih površina. Na temelju rezultata zaključeno je na koji način različiti zavarivački parametri utječu na geometrijska svojstva izrađenih uzoraka te koji su parametri prikladniji za izradu struktura od nehrđajućeg čelika.This master thesis addresses the impact of parameters in the MIG/MAG welding process on the geometrical properties of the workpiece in the context of additive manufacturing. The work consists of both theoretical and experimental parts. The theoretical section, based on data from the referenced literature, describes the additive manufacturing process using MIG/MAG welding technology. A brief introduction provides an overview of additive manufacturing and its characteristics. The thesis defines metal additive manufacturing and presents the classification of metal additive manufacturing processes. The main part of the theoretical section focuses on Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM), providing examples of metals that can be used as feedstock for WAAM. The characteristics of the process, including parameters, advantages, and disadvantages, are discussed. The applications of products made using this technology are also outlined, and the WAAM process is compared with conventional manufacturing technologies as well as other additive technologies. In the experimental part of the master thesis, two samples were produced using an automated MIG process and stainless steel welding wire, with varying process parameters. The geometrical characteristics of the surface, specifically the topography of the examined surfaces, were analyzed. Based on the results, conclusions were drawn on how different welding parameters affect the geometrical properties of the produced samples and which parameters are more suitable for the fabrication of stainless steel structures

Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
