No full textIn his March 2015 interview with Harv Thompson et al, Mark Lefebvre reflects on his long involvement with the arts in Wisconsin, and specifically Robert Gard's contribution to his development and Wisconsin rural arts. He discussed his youth in northeastern Wisconsin and the influence UW-Extension and his undergraduate career at UW-Madison had in his development as an author and publisher. He related his work with Gard and shared reminiscences about a number of major figures in UW's arts heritage. Finally, he discussed his more recent work with medical education. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the UW-Madison Oral History Program and the Gard Foundation's UW-Madison and WI Community Arts History Project

No full textEsse artigo trata da teoria da produção do espaço de Henri Lefebvre com o objetivo de explicar os seus fundamentos e assim contribuir para a superação de confusões que têm ocorrido com frequência na apropriação e interpretação de sua obra. Schmid analisa e reconstroi a teoria de Lefebvre, identificando os elementos que constituem a sua estrutura básica bem como os fundamentos de sua epistemologia. Para ele, é preciso considerar três aspectos cruciais até então negligenciados para compreender a teoria de Lefebvre: (1) sua versão triádica da dialética, desenvolvida com base em Hegel, Marx e Nietzsche; (2) sua teoria da linguagem baseada em Nietzsche; e (3) a influência da fenomenologia francesa em seu pensamento.

No full textTrata-se de estabelecer uma análise possível da necessária relação entre o mundo moderno e as determinações espaciais para a efetivação do mesmo. Destaca-se o fato de que, na modernidade, expressa pela ampliação, em seus mais distintos sentidos, do mundo da mercadoria, os processos relativos à reprodução social serem postos e repostos pelas determinações da simultaneidade, efetividade do espaço, em detrimento das relações de sucessão, efetividade do tempo. Desta maneira, o trabalho aqui exposto destaca o papel das mediações e abstrações sociais concretizadas como espaço, tornando este uma problemática tanto social quanto analítica. A análise sobre a mesma, elevada ao plano conceitual analítico, está exposta ao longo do pensamento de Henri Lefebvre, sendo A produção do espaço um momento privilegiado desta sua reflexão. Paolo Savona in merito a un mio saggio dedicato al Trattao di Maastricht e all'Unione monetaria europea apparso sul libro Andreotti e l'Europa curato da F. Lefebvre D'Ovidio e da Luca Micheletta.The chapter describes – based on Giulio Andreotti’s personal papers – the decision by the Italian government of the day, taken in the course of the extraordinary council of 27-28 October 1990 in Rome during the semester under the Italian presidency, to agree to the adoption of a single currency. Actually, however, the documents do not directly reflect Andreotti’s thoughts on the issue. The interpretative scope of the chapter is accordingly limited: the idea was to show how the Italian government conducted the negotiations within the European institutions in the preparation of the Maastricht treaty and its ratification, not to consider the effects of EMU on the Italian economy, nor to express my personal opinion concerning the decision

from the period between 1968 and 1974, indicating the conduits
for reflection and their interrelationships with methods, types of
analyses and other procedures to treat the space-time urban. The

procedures in highlight of philosophical, social, economic and
political aspects, the historical context of his references and

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
No full textThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
