New Deformations of Convolution Algebras and Fourier Algebras on Locally Compact Groups
In this paper we introduce a new way of deforming convolution algebras and Fourier algebras on locally compact groups. We demonstrate that this new deformation allows us to reveal some information about the underlying groups by examining Banach algebra properties of deformed algebras. More precisely, we focus on representability as an operator algebra of deformed convolution algebras on compact connected Lie groups with connection to the real dimension of the underlying group. To measure and control etching characteristic, relation between etching ions/radicals and plasma property are searched. QMS and Langmuir probe are used to measure EEDF and positive ion ratio. The experiment is done under fixed pressure of 50 mTorr. Firstly the mixing ratio in the total gas is changed. Secondly the current applied to the electrode is changed. The relation between and relative F positive ion density shows discrepancy between the two experiments. However EEDF graph reveals a common underlying relation in the two experiments. By observing electron densities of high energy tail, in-situ monitoring of etching profile is possible.한국과학기술원 : 물리학과
Study on barkhausen avalanches in Fe and Ni-Fe alloy films
학위논문(석사) - 한국과학기술원 : 물리학과, 2008.2, [ 35 p. ]자성체에서 자화 역전 과정이 이루어질 때 불연속적이고, 급격한 점프를 통해 이루어진다. 이를 박하우젠 현상이라 한다. 이러한 현상은 스핀트로닉스 소자를 구현시킬 때 노이즈로 작용하기 때문에 자성체의 실용적인 응용을 위해서 반드시 극복해야 하는 현상이다. 또한 학문적으로는 박하우젠 현상에서 나타나는 거듭제곱분포함수가 무작위해 보이는 여러 현상들을 설명하는데 유용한 도구가 되기 때문에 많은 관심을 받아 왔다.
본 학위 논문에서는 Fe 및 Ni-Fe 합금 박막을 유리 기판 위에 스퍼터링 방법으로 증착시켜서 박하우젠 현상을 관측하였고, 박막의 두께 및 조성을 변화시켜가면서 실험을 하였다. 또한 실험실 자체 제작 장비인 광자기 현미경을 이용하여 실제로 자구 및 자구 벽이 어떠한 방식으로 변화하는가를 직접 관찰하였다. 그 결과 박막의 두께와 조성에 관계없이 자구 및 자구 벽의 구조가 큰 차이가 없음을 확인하였고, 1000번 이상의 자화 역전 과정 측정을 통해 거듭제곱분포함수의 임계지수가 1.1근처에서 보편성을 가짐을 실험적으로 확인하였다.한국과학기술원 : 물리학과
Technological Convergence in ICT and Determinants of Convergence from the Perspective of R&D Alliance Players
Temperley–Lieb Quantum Channels
We study a class of quantum channels arising from the representation theory of compact quantum groups that we call Temperley–Lieb quantum channels. These channels simultaneously extend those introduced by Brannan and Collins (Commun Math Phys 358(3):1007–1025, 2018), Nuwairan (Int J Math 25(6):1450048, 2014) and Lieb and Solovej (Acta Math 212(2):379–398, 2014). (Quantum) Symmetries in quantum information theory arise naturally from many points of view, providing an important source of new examples of quantum phenomena, and also serve as useful tools to simplify or solve important problems. This work provides new applications of quantum symmetries in quantum information theory. Among others, we study entropies and capacitites of Temperley–Lieb channels, their (anti-) degradability, PPT and entanglement breaking properties, as well as the behaviour of their tensor products with respect to entangled inpurs. Finally we compare the Tempereley–Lieb channels with the (modified) TRO-channels recently introduced by Gao et al. (Commun Math Phys 364(1):83–121, 2018)).Y
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
