Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Design of a management program for psychosocial risk factors, aligned with the Occupational Health and Safety Management System for the organization Leal & Prieto Corredor de Seguros Asociados
Especialista en Psicología Ocupacional y OrganizacionalEspecializaciónThis study aims to design and implement a management program for psychosocial risk factors, aligned with the organization's occupational health and safety management system. In Colombia, legislation requires organizations to identify, assess, and intervene in these factors; however, it was found that the company Leal & Prieto Corredores de Seguros Asociados did not have a structured system for this purpose. In response to this need, a psychosocial risk management program was designed and implemented, aimed at improving mental health conditions and workplace well-being. This is a descriptive and technological study, using as its methodological basis the Battery of Instruments for the Assessment of Psychosocial Risk Factors, complemented by an analysis based on the Methodological Triad, which allowed for a deeper understanding of the organizational situation. As a result, a management program focused on psychosocial risks was developed, along with an epidemiological surveillance plan and a series of strategic interventions aimed at preventing psychosocial risk factors and promoting protective factors and health. This allowed the organization to comply with current regulations and establish concrete actions to strengthen the well-being of its human team. Nevertheless, it is recommended to continue these actions through continuous improvement processes that strengthen psychosocial management in alignment with Colombian regulations

Abstract
PURPOSE: To evaluate the role of topical mitomycin C in corneal wound healing (CWH) after photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) in highly myopic eyes.
DESIGN: Prospective, double-masked, randomized clinical trial.
PARTICIPANTS: Seventy-two eyes of 36 patients affected by high (>7 diopters) myopia.
METHODS: In each patient, one eye was randomly assigned to PRK with intraoperative topical 0.02% mitomycin C application, and the fellow eye was treated with a placebo. Postoperatively, mitomycin C-treated eyes received artificial tears (3 times daily, tapered in 3 months), whereas the fellow eye was treated with fluorometholone sodium 2% and artificial tears (3 times daily, tapered in 3 months).
MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) and best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), contrast sensitivity, manifest refraction, and biomicroscopy. Contrast sensitivity was determined using the Pelli-Robson chart. Corneal confocal microscopy documented CWH.
RESULTS: Mean follow-up was 18 months (range, 12-36). No side effects or toxic effects were documented. At 12-month follow-up examination, UCVAs (logarithm of the minimum angle of resolution) were 0.4+/-0.48 and 0.5+/-0.53 (P = .03) in mitomycin C-treated eyes and corticosteroid-treated eyes, respectively. At 1 year, corneal haze developed in 20% of corticosteroid-treated eyes, versus 0% of mitomycin C-treated eyes. At 12, 24, and 36 months, corneal confocal microscopy showed activated keratocytes and extracellular matrix significantly more evident in untreated eyes (Ps = 0.004, 0.024, and 0.046, respectively).
CONCLUSION: Topical intraoperative application of 0.02% mitomycin C can reduce haze formation in highly myopic eyes undergoing PRK.

This Thesis deals with the history of the Leal Santos & Co factory, founded in 1889, in Rio Grande city, state of Rio Grande do Sul, and in Lisboa (Portugal). The main issue it is to undestand the history of the factory - which started its activities producing pickled and cookies - through its biscuit, and what role Leal Santos played in the regional and national industrial scene between 1889-1918. Through an interdisciplinary study, also based on the issues of Business History, this work seeks to understand the trajectory of this company through the product that was essential in its construction and consolidation in the national market, in the field of cookies. For this, I used the press, advertising and narratives as sources to trace what I called the biographical trajectory of the biscuit. From there, I traced the process of creating the factory, the industrial scenario of the period, the contribution of Leal Santos in the field of industrial cookies, and the symbolic and distinctive values attributed to this product. The methodology used during this research was, fundamentally, Content Analysis, which provided a quantitative and qualitative investigation of the data.Divided into four parts, which correspond to the life stages of this cookie, the work presents how its founders founded the factory within an industrialization scenario, both in Brazil and in Portugal; how the press helped in the process of building a business image linked to Belle Époque's progress and modernity; and how Leal Santos used advertising and the press to produce and sell a product of social distinction. And yet, even after the end of their production (1960s) Leal Santos cookies continued to be a memorial and identity reference of the period studied and how their musealization can be seen as part of the relationship between factory and society. This analysis allowed us to understand that Leal, Santos & Co Factory., despite being located in the extreme south of Rio Grande do Sul, had an important contribution in the industrial scenario of the region, and also of the country, especially in the biscuit business - contributing actively for the consolidation of that market. This research also concluded that Leal Santos was a family business resulting from its time, created and shaped within the values and needs of the period, as well as a company in Rio Grande do Sul that consolidated itself, through the biscuit, in the national scene as a company of quality, progress and modernity
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
