Hypolycaena anara Larsen 1986
63. Hypolycaena anara Larsen, 1986 WL: 13mm. Larsen (2005) reports this species in dense savanna and dry forest, and we only collected a few specimens in the Cantanhez forest area. H. anara also occurs in Guinea (Fouta-Djallon and the National Park of Upper Niger), Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and northeastern Nigeria. The host-plants are still unknown. Studied material. Liptena ferrymani subsp. bissau Collins & Larsen 2003
42. Liptena ferrymani bissau Collins & Larsen, 2003 WL: 18mm. L. ferrymani flies mainly in dry forest and forest-savanna mosaic. The present subspecies was described from Guinea-Bissau and is also known in the Fouta Djallon (Guinea). It can be distinguished from the two other known subspecies through its smaller size and reduced black markings. Previous references. Regions: Quinara. Forcipatia Larsen & Shimomura, 2007, n. gen.
Forcipatia n. gen. Diagnosis. Female. Cheliped fixed finger and dactylus elongated. Uropodal exopod uniarticulated. Etymology. The genus is named for the shape of the chela; elongated and of similar shape to the cheliped in Pseudotanais. Remarks. Leptognathia rotundicauda Kudinova-Pasternak, 1970, L. longimanus Larsen, 2005, and L. sp G. (currently undescribed, Dr. G. Bird, pers. comm.), are removed from Leptognathia to the new genus due to the special features of the chela. In all other respects this genus is identical to Leptognathia. 1.
