No full textEsperti stranieri ed italiani concentrano il loro interesse su vari aspetti della presenza dello studium domenicano nella Bologna del secolo che si estede approsimativamente tra 1250 e 1350. Formazione filosofia e teologica, rapporti con le facoltà dell'Università di Bologna in questo periodo, relazioni tra lectores e tribunale dell'Inquisizione, ma anche vicende della biblioteca dello studium: questi sono alcuni dei temi trattati nel volume, che contribuisce ad illustrare vari aspetti del rapporto tra Frati Predicatori e cultura bolognese prima del 1350, ma anche a comprendere meglio la funzione formativa svolta dallo studium domenicano bolognese all'interno dell'Ordine dei Predicatori. I prestiti letterali dall'opera di Ceffons sono così estesi da costituire un elemento decisivo in un progetto di edizione critica del Somnium, come si mostra nella seconda parte dell'articol
Product and Process Innovation in Differential Games with Managerial Firms
No full textWe take a differential game approach to study the optimal choices of managerial firms concerning efforts in product an process innovation. We find the Nash equilibria under the open-loop and closed-loop information structure, and we compare the steady state allocations with the corresponding equilibria of markets populated by standard profit-maximising firms. We find that the managerial incentive leads firm to underinvest in product differentiation and to overinvest in process innovation, as compared to standard profit-maximising firms

Differential Games in Industrial Economics
No full textGame theory has revolutionised our understanding of industrial organisation and the traditional theory of the firm. Despite these advances, industrial economists have tended to rely on a restricted set of tools from game theory, focusing on static and repeated games to analyse firm structure and behaviour. Luca Lambertini, a leading expert on the application of differential game theory to economics, argues that many dynamic phenomena in industrial organisation (such as monopoly, oligopoly, advertising, R&D races) can be better understood and analysed through the use of differential games. After illustrating the basic elements of the theory, Lambertini guides the reader through the main models, spanning from optimal control problems describing the behaviour of a monopolist through to oligopoly games in which firms' strategies include prices, quantities and investments. This approach will be of great value to students and researchers in economics and those interested in advanced applications of game theory
