ePortfolio: l’uso di ambienti online per favorire l’orientamento in itinere nel percorso universitario.
This pilot study concernes the construction of an ePortfolio carried out by students in the Course of “Didactic of the Educational Guidance”* during the academic year 2013/14. The aim is to facilitate the orientation of university students through documentation of learning lived experiences and reflection about them. In particular, it was realized a showcase portfolio by the use of Mahara, an open source platform. The opinions of students, measured by input and output questionnaires, in relation to the research hypothesis (Mahara usability, conception and design of the eP to promote awareness of the educational process), show a very positive experience about metacognition and individual and collegial reflection, as well as some critical issues related to the projection of the instrument in a working future

Recensione 5° Seminario di studi_La sperimentazione educativa. Modelli e procedure.
The 5th International Seminar (June 5-6, 2015), as traditionally organized by the Journal of Educational, Cultural and American Psychological Studies, born in close thematic link with the theoretical approaches and procedural methods of research undertaken through the PRIN Project (2010-2011) «Educational Achievement, Social Inclusion and Cohesion: Innovative Strategies, ICT and Evaluation Models». The speakers and the researchers of the seven Italian universities participating in PRIN (Torino, Verona, Bologna Roma Tre, Roma Sapienza, Foggia, Palermo) were called to intervene on the possibility of identifying a connection between the research methodologies in education, the underlying theories and their empirical practicality in the school context. In relation to the topics covered in the study day, they can be identified the reflections concern how to combine theory and practice to make empirical research in education. During the discussion it was underlined the importance of the fact that theoretical and operational decisions in education are the expression of an evaluation based on reliable empirical data

Feedback Online: Experiences of Blended Tutoring at Roma Tre University
Abstract: This paper presents the experience of blended tutoring (online & presence) in different educational activities carried out in the Degree Course of Educational at the Department of Education, Roma Tre University, Italy. The observation concerns the teaching Courses of General Didactic (ay 2012 / 13- 2013/14) and of Educational Strategies and New Communication Processes (ay 2013/14).Furthermore, firstly, it is considered the experience of Degree Course of Educational FAD (Distance Education - in Italian: Formazione A Distanza) that marked the start of teaching as blended learning at the same Department; FAD began in the academic year 2004/05.The point of view that we claim, corroborated by the experiments carried out, is that the satisfactory feedback online is linked to the presence of blended tutor who exercises instructional tasks (versus constructivist) and plays a leading role (versus peer-tutoring)

The speakers tackled issues related to in educational research, particularly with respect to methodological, theoretical and operational aspects, underlining also the close interconnection to governments and academies financial and policies choices, and the theme of research evaluation. The scientific debate on contemporary research methods in education seen to converge the opinions of experts in considering mixed methods the most appropriate procedure to handle a field study. In general all the speakers shared the position before stated, emphasizing at the same time, the difficulty, presents in all research, to combine the qualitative and a quantitative prospects to construct a survey method that found not faulty elements from the scientific point of view and for making available tools for both collecting and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data, both to their correlation. The reports focused on the evaluation of educational research related both to the principles that govern the proper organization and the meta-analysis of assessment procedures used in research carried on the field, and laid emphasis on the strengths and critical points. You note the close connection that exists among the methodological, the evaluation and the research funding dimensions, because, of course, the choice of most suitable methods of producing research, that will get higher quality and will take a proper evaluation by the competent bodies, to which governments should refer for the distribution of financial resources
The seminar concluded with a debate in which the authors have discussed the positions set out above, stating, finally, that they greatly appreciated the initiative of the EPCS Journal and calling for the organization of future meetings that may allow a further deepening the topics covered
