Comportamento di un inserto per la realizzazione di un nodo prefabbricato di una struttura a telaio in zona sismica
In Italy, the precast concrete structures are traditionally designed as moment resisting frames with the plastic hinges occurring at the columns bases and with the beams simply supported by the columns.
A ductile moment resisting connection between the column and the beam can provide the architectural advantage to design continuous beams with a reduction of the beam depth or an increasing of the span or of the carried load with the respect to the simply supported precast beam. Furthermore the seismic resisting frame can develop the formation of the plastic hinges at the beam-column interface besides at the column base.
This paper aims at presenting a finite element analysis (FEA) of a particular beam-column “dry” connection for precast concrete elements. The joint is characterized by the use of high resistance steel bars and of fibre reinforced gout pad in the “Z” shaped beam-column interface to increase the shear resistance of the connection. The non linear analyses are conducted with FE program ABACUS. A plane model has been carried out with plane stress elements. The numerical results show a good performance of the joint, in term of resistance, ductility and energy dissipation.
Further experimental studies carried out in the University of Brescia could characterize the real constitutive moment-rotation law for cyclic loading history with increasing amplitude till the failure of the connection. These curves will be used to validate the laws given by the numerical analyses and to study the seismic behaviour of precast concrete structures
Indagine numerica del comportamento di un sistema di appoggio metallico per pannelli prefabbricati in calcestruzzo
Although several works have been focused on the seismic behaviour of RC frames with masonry infills, the dynamic and non linear behaviour of pre-cast structures under seismic actions, with pre-fabricated RC panels used as curtain walls, is still not well known, due to the lack of studies on the interaction of the RC frame and the external pre-cast concrete panels. In common design practice, the bracing effect of the panels on the seismic response of the building is ignored. However, this assumption might be in some cases unsafe or uneconomical in the design of the RC columns of a seismic resisting frames.
One of the problems related to precast RC panels, is that the behaviour of the supporting systems under earthquake actions is not well understood, both with respect to their strength and ductility.
This paper aims at presenting finite element analyses (FEA) of a particular steel support system used to connect pre-cast concrete panels to concrete structures. The non linear analyses are conducted with FE program DIANA. A three dimensional model has been carried out with tetrahedral elements. The non linear behaviour of the materials and of the contact surface between the panel and the support system are considered. A rotating smeared crack approach has been used to model the concrete cracking zone around the anchors of the support system.
The numerical results show a good performance of the support system, both in term of resistance and ductility, so that under seismic actions the pre-cast panel might be act as stiffening and bracing elements in an RC frame

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
