LoRa Communication Technology for IoT Applications
No full textLow-power wide-area networks (LPWANs) represent a novel communication paradigm that will replace or complement traditional cellular and short-range wireless technologies in several applications. In relation to the Internet of Things (IoT), LPWANs are expected to offer energy-efficient connectivity to a high number of low-power devices, distributed over very large geographical areas. In this context, LoRa is a promising LPWAN technology for inter-connecting billions of low-power IoT nodes. We envision that an increasing number of IoT nodes will be deployed and connected to the Internet via LoRa to enable various innovative applications in several domains, including smart cities, smart monitoring, healthcare, and factory automation. We face great practical challenges and research opportunities in the design, implementation, and evaluation of LoRa technology and its applications and system development. This Special Issue is focused on LPWAN technologies, particularly LoRa, addressing (but not limited to) the following topics: Experimental deployments and solutions for mobile scenarios or situations where devices are deployed in a wide area; Machine learning techniques for the configuration and management of LoRa-based communications; Novel physical layer design and optimization for LoRa; Novel link layer and network layer design and implementation for LoRa; Co-existence and co-operation of LoRa with other wireless technologies in ISM bands; Security aspects of LoRa

LoRa rendszer kiépítése és tesztelése épületautomatika területén
No full textA szakdolgozatom a LoRa technológia épületautomatizálásban való alkalmazhatóságát vizsgálja, különösen a beltéri klíma monitorozására. A kutatás keretében egy bölcsőde épületében valósítottam meg a LoRaWAN hálózat kiépítését MileSight szenzorok és gateway segítségével, figyelembe véve az épület szerkezeti kihívásait, mint például vastag falak és zárt terek. A rendszer tesztelése során a jelterjedés optimalizálására antennák beállítását és jelismétlők használatát alkalmaztam. Az eredmények alapján a hálózat stabil adatátvitelt és energiahatékony működést biztosított minden mérési ponton. A dolgozat bemutatja a LoRa technológia előnyeit, mint az alacsony energiafogyasztás, költséghatékonyság és skálázhatóság. Az érzékelők által gyűjtött adatok lehetőséget nyújtanak az energiafelhasználás optimalizálására és a fenntartási költségek csökkentésére. Összességében a dolgozat rávilágít arra, hogy a LoRa technológia fenntartható és költséghatékony alternatíva lehet a hagyományos rendszerekhez képest.BSc/BAMechatronikai mérnök

No full textEn su discurso, el Sr. de Lora habla acerca de la futura prohibición de las corridas de toros como un espectáculo y felicita al Parlamento catalán por abrir la puerta a esta iniciativa. El Sr. de Lora presenta con cierto detalle la crueldad infligida a los toros, así como el alto riesgo para otros animales asociadas con el evento, como los caballos. Se trata de disipar el argumento engañoso de que su existencia actual está relacionada con la cultura y la historia y cita a un conocido defensor de las corridas de toros, Mario Vargas Llosa, que admite que está "impregnado de violencia y crueldad". También cita al filósofo inglés Thomas Hobbes, afirmando que la libertad sin restricciones da lugar a la degradación moral en la sociedad y en el caso específico de los toros en las corrida, causa un daño inaceptable. Y concluye con el argumento de que los animales deben contar con un conjunto de normas morales para protegerlos, comparando su situación con los miembros más débiles de la sociedad humana, tales como los niños con discapacidad y, a los que tratan de proteger.In his address, Mr de Lora talks about the future prohibition of bullfighting as a spectacle and congratulates the Catalan Parliament for laying the way open for this initiative. Mr de Lora lays out in some detail the cruelty inflicted on bulls as well as the high risk to other animals associated with the event such as horses. He seeks to dispel what he feels is the specious argument that its ongoing existence is linked with culture and history and quotes a well-known advocate of bullfighting, Mario Vargas Llosa, as admitting that it is "impregnated with violence and cruelty". He also quotes the English philosopher Thomas Hobbes, stating that unrestricted liberty gives way to moral degradation in society and in the specific case of bulls in bullfighting, causes unacceptable harm and cruelty.
