Uncertainty on signal parameter estimation in frequency domain
In the paper the analytical evaluation of the uncertainty on signal parameter estimation in frequency domain is dealt with. Two different and widely diffused algorithms able to compensate the spectral leakage effects due to asynchronous sampling are considered. The combined uncertainties on the final results (tones frequency, amplitude, and phase) due to the propagation of the uncertainty on the input samples are analytically evaluated. Simulation tests are then carried out in order to validate the obtained formulas
Implementing uncertainty auto-evaluation capabilities on an intelligent FFT-analyzer
An fast Fourier transform analyzer with capabilities of auto-configuration, continuous signal analysis, and estimation of spectral component parameters has been provided with the capability of evaluating the uncertainty of the estimated values. The instrument, which has been implemented on a two-DSP hardware, has been characterized through several experimental tests, proving the metrological and operating performances. This paper describes the hardware and the algorithms used for the instrument, and it details the analytical development of the relationships for the uncertainty evaluation and the preliminary compensation of systematic effects. This paper also reports the main experimental results
An on-line stereo vision system for dimensional measurements on rubber extrusions
This paper deals with the on-line measurement of the dimensional parameters of rubber gaskets in the automotive
industry. It tackles the problem of 3-D reconstruction, starting off with pairs of 2-D images of object shapes. An initial
brief description of both the gasket production line and the measurement system is followed by a detailed discussion of
edge detection, 3-D reconstruction and the algorithm used for measurement. Finally some information on the system
metrological performance is given
