No full textIl testo contiene le attività svolte nell'estate del 2010 - col supporto della Regione Toscana - da un gruppo di lavoro della Facoltà di Ingegneria dell'Università di Pisa, per l'analisi del rischio sismico del Comune di San Pio delle Camere (AQ) colpito dal terremoto abruzzese del 6 aprile 2009. Dopo un inquadramento storico-urbanistico del centro abitato, si sono rendicontate le tipologie edilizie presenti, con particolare attenzione verso le consuetudini costruttive del luogo. I "Grottoni" o "Camere", presenti in gran numero nel centro storico del paese, sono stati analizzati con una catalogazione e una proposta di schedatura. Il rilievo dei danni sismici è stato analizzato in modo sistematico, ripartendolo per aggregati edilizi, a loro volta divisi in unità strutturali, con una schedatura di dettaglio. L'effetto del suolo sul quadro dei danni è stato messo in luce ripercorrendone la microzonazione sismica, con la prospettiva di dare indicazioni urbanistiche per eventuali aree di espansione o di valorizzazione. Si sono infine rendicontate le principali tecniche di consolidamento ante e post sisma utilizzate nelle ristrutturazioni edilizie.The text contains the activities carried out in the summer of 2010 - with the support of the Tuscany Region - by a working group of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Pisa, for the analysis of seismic risk of the City of San Pio delle Camere (AQ) Abruzzo, hit by the earthquake of 6th April 2009. After an historical planning framework of the city, it has been reported on the main building types, with particular attention to the traditional practices of the construction. The "Grottoni" or "Camere", present in large number in the historical center, have been analyzed with a classification and a proposal for survey. The relief of earthquake damage has been analyzed in a systematic way, by way of building aggregates, in turn divided into structural units, with a catalog of detail. The effect of soil on the part of the damage was revealed tracing the seismic micro-zoning, with a view to provide guidance for possible areas of urban expansion or enhancement. Finally, it has been reported on the main techniques of consolidation before and after the earthquake used in building renovations
Il piano di ricostruzione di San Pio delle Camere (AQ)
No full textIl 6 aprile 2009 il Comprensorio Aquilano viene attraversato da una forte onda sismica che causa enormi danni, migliaia di senza tetto e centinaia di vittime. Nelle estati del 2010 e 2011 due gruppi di venti tirocinanti, risultati vincitori di borsa di studio della Regione Toscana per laureandi in Ingegneria Civile, Edile o Edile-Architettura dell’Università di Pisa, si impegnano in attività di studio, monitoraggio e rilievo sistematico degli aggregati dell’antico centro di San Pio delle Camere (AQ).
Successivamente, l’Amministrazione Comunale decide di affidare allo staff che ha diretto i tirocinanti, coordinato dal prof. Mauro Sassu, il compito di redigere il Piano di Ricostruzione del borgo.
La presente monografia raccoglie il lavoro relativo a tale Piano di Ricostruzione, basato sulla minuziosa rivisitazione del centro abitato, avvenuta con rilievo dello stato di conservazione degli aggregati, delle unità strutturali, delle reti dei servizi, delle parti pubbliche e delle zone a verde, quantificando le superfici, i volumi e le estensioni delle parti oggetto di ricostruzione.
L’attività di rilievo ha costituito una preziosa occasione per studiare le tecniche e le tipologie costruttive, con dettagli e tessiture murarie, e ha permesso di individuare gli invarianti da conservare per mantenere e trasmettere l’identità storica dell’abitato: i tipici archi di scarico tra gli edifici prospicienti i vicoli e i numerosi “grottoni” o “camere” che danno il nome al paese, il tessuto urbano rimasto praticamente inalterato nei secoli, distribuito per curve di livello lungo il costone roccioso, e il Castello sulla sommità dell’abitato, che connota fortemente il luogo

The project has merged into a website managed with the MOVIO open source kit, and aims to survey and index evidence relating to the use of Italian public libraries in the contemporary age. The website surveys evidence taken from diaries, memoirs, correspondence, biographies and autobiographies, but also from interviews, journalistic articles or letters to newspapers, poems, novels and creative texts. The paper illustrates the website’s properties and provides a guide for the consultation of its sections

No full textThe understanding of dust explosion is still incomplete because of the lack of reliable data and accurate models accounting for all the physic-chemical aspects. Besides, most of the experimental data available in the current literature has been accumulated on the 20-l spherical bomb tests, which gives coarse results for the pressure history that cannot be easily converted into fundamental combustion parameters. Nevertheless, the large amount
of experimental data available in the spherical bomb is attractive. In this work, the explosion of non-nano iron dust in the standard spherical vessel is analyzed, aiming at evaluating the burning velocity from the theoretical point of view and the simple experiments performed by the standard explosion tests. The choice of iron is of relevance because its adiabatic flame temperature is below the boiling temperature of both the reactants and oxidized gaseous, liquid, or solid (intermediate and final) products and for the negligible particle porosity, which
instead is typical of organic dust. Therefore, a non-nano iron dust explosion can be reconducted to a reduced mechanism since heterogeneous (surface) combustion may be determinant, and the diffusion mechanism for oxygen is the only relevant. The laminar burning velocity is strongly dependant on the particle diameter, whereas little effects are due to the dust concentration. The reported final value was found in agreement with typical
limiting laminar burning velocity, adopted for the estimation of flammability limits
