Ayeyarwady Region. The objectives of the study are to identify the income inequality,
to measure the headcount index, poverty gap index, poverty gap squared index, poverty
index and to examine the causes of poverty there. Gini coefficient showing with Lorenz
Curve is used for the measure of income inequality, and the method revealed by Foster,
Joel Greer & Erik Thorbecke (1984) is used for the measure of poverty. Binary Logistic
Regression analysis is applied to analyze the causes of poverty. Gini coefficient is
0.597, showing a high inequality and a severe gap of consumption in the study area.
Poverty line of the study area is determined at 1551 Kyats per capita a day. It is found
that 45.9 percent of population is the poor. Binary Logistic Regression analysis shows
that male headed households, family size of 4 to 6 and above 6 members, employment
type of general worker and no access to national grid electricity access are more likely
to happen poverty. Characteristics of household heads, which are age of household
heads from 40 to 49 years and 50 years and above, middle school, high and higher
education level of household heads, land owner, fly proof toilet condition and clean
water availability, are less likely to happen poverty cet.par. By providing mass
production of agricultural produces, by establishing the agro-based value-added
manufacturing industries, by promoting the vocational schools and technology
improvement, by developing the electricity access, farm land access, water supply and
health awareness, it can create highly paid job opportunities to eliminate poverty in the

Thesis(Master) --KDI School:Master of Public Policy,2016This study analyzes the impacts of the exchange rate unification on the trade balance in Myanmar based on Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) Model. This paper’s main objective is to determine whether the exchange rate has positive or negative effects on the trade balance. This study has discovered that the exchange rate unification has a positive effect on the trade balance in the long run. Additionally, this study finds that Exchange Rate and Foreign Direct Investment have positive effects on the trade balance while GDP growth rate and Inflation has negative impact in the long run. As a policy implication, this study suggests that the government should focus on economic stability and effective monetary policies within the country. Moreover, Myanmar’s new exchange rate system should align with the market speculators without priority of either exporters or importers.1 Introduction

Design and Calculation of Synchronous Generator used in Micro Hydropower Project Loi Unn Village
Myanmar has natural gifts of hydropower resources and most of area are a great distance far from national grid syatem. To develop throughout the country of courses, needs to fulfil the electricity requirements for cities as well as country sides or villages. Consequently, Micro hydropower is cost effective, environmentally friendly and manufactured locally. This research has studied on the hydropower generating system and mainly emphasized on the design of synchronous generator for used in Micro hydropower project Loi Unn village . In this paper, fixed blade axial flow propeller turbine is suiTABLEfor this Mico hydropower project and the design data of 1 phase, 6 pole, 1000 r.p.m, 50 Hz, 3 kVA synchronous generator is mentioned. The calculated results are checked based on the design limits and these are regarded as appropriate values. Absence of APO B R3500Q mutation amon Kelantanese Malays with hyperlipidaemia
Familial defective apolipoprotein B-100 (FDB) is an autosomal dominant genetic disorder associated with hypercholesterolaemia and premature coronary heart disease. FDB is caused by mutations in and around the codon 3500 of the apolipoprotein B (apo B) gene. Apo B R3500Q mutation is the first apo B mutation known to be associated with FDB and it is the most frequently reported apo B mutation in several different populations. The objective of the present study was to determine the association of apo B R3500Q mutation with elevated plasma cholesterol concentration in Kelantanese population in which both hypercholesterolaemia and coronary heart disease are common. Sixty-two Malay subjects with hyperlipidaemia, attending the lipid clinic at Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia, Kelantan, were selected for this study. The DNA samples were analysed for the presence of apo B R3500Q mutation by polymerase chain reaction-based restriction fragment analysis method using mutagenic primers. This mutation was not detected in the subjects selected for this study. Apo B R3500Q mutation does not appear to be a common cause of hypercholesterolaemia in Kelantanese Malays
