Transient Clock Power Estimation of Pre-CTS Netlist
Clock tree synthesis (CTS) is performed in a very late stage of design. Power estimation, therefore, can only be done without clock network in most design stages, which is not desirable given that clock network is usually the biggest power consumer. One may adopt an estimate of clock power, but its dynamic nature arising from clock gating brings a challenge in the estimation of clock power in a pre-CTS design. In this paper, we (1) estimate the clock tree components (clock gating cells (CGCs) and buffers as well as their wireloads) by using artificial neural networks (ANNs) and (2) use them while gating or ungating of each CGC is identified from a netlist cycle-by-cycle to estimate transient clock power consumption. Experiments with a few test circuits indicate that (1) the estimation of clock tree components causes the error of 13% on average, and (2) the estimated clock power waveform is very close to the actual waveform with average error of only 2%
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. 딥러닝을 이용한 광학 근접 보정 가속화

We address three methods to adopt deep learning into OPC flow for faster OPC process. First, a bidirectional recurrent network (BRNN) based OPC is presented. Based on that mask correction during OPC has causality between mask biases, we map each mask bias into single instance in RNN, so that prediction can consider causality between segments. Next, we propose to optimize resist kernels using convolutional neural network (CNN).The structure of resist model and CNN are similar, we can use resist kernels as filters in CNN, so that kernels are optimized through CNN training process. As a result, we can derive complex kernel shapes, rather than function-based kernels, so that the number of convolutions in resist model is reduced and reduces the lithography simulation runtime. Finally, assist feature (AF) print fix using CNN is presented. By using gradient map from CNN, we can identify which part of AF cause AF printing and give guides to fix AF print while minimizing the effect in process window.한국과학기술원 :전기및전자공학부
Combatting Advanced Persistent Threat via Causality Inference and Program Analysis
Cyber attackers are becoming more and more sophisticated. In particular, Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) is a new class of attack that targets a specific organization and compromises systems over a long time without being detected. Over the years, we have seen notorious examples of APTs including Stuxnet which disrupted Iranian nuclear centrifuges and data breaches affecting millions of users. Investigating APT is challenging as it occurs over an extended period of time and the attack process is highly sophisticated and stealthy. Also, preventing APTs is difficult due to ever-expanding attack vectors. In this dissertation, we present proposals for dealing with challenges in attack investigation. Specifically, we present \ldx which conducts precise counter-factual causality inference to determine dependencies between system calls (e.g., between input and output system calls) and allows investigators to determine the origin of an attack (e.g., receiving a spam email) and the propagation path of the attack, and assess the consequences of the attack. \ldx is four times more accurate and two orders of magnitude faster than state-of-the-art taint analysis techniques. Moreover, we then present a practical model-based causality inference system, \mci, which achieves precise and accurate causality inference without requiring any modification or instrumentation in end-user systems. Second, we show a general protection system against a wide spectrum of attack vectors and methods. Specifically, we present \atoc that prevents a wide range of attacks by randomizing inputs such that any malicious payloads contained in the inputs are corrupted. The protection provided by \atoc is both general (e.g., against various attack vectors) and practical (7\% runtime overhead)
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
