Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

No full text학위논문(박사) - 한국과학기술원 : 기계공학과, 2018.2,[viii, 176 p. :]3D CAD 모델의 상세도는 사용 사례에 따라서 달라진다. 3D CAD 모델 단순화는 모델의 사용 목적에 따라서 LOD를 조절하는 기술이다. 지금껏 다양한 분야에서 다양한 종류의 단순화 기술이 소개되었다. 플랜트 산업에서 기자재 제작사로부터 생성되는 3D CAD 모델은 매우 상세한 반면 EPC 사가 사용하는 CAD 모델은 상세도가 낮다. 이러한 차이 때문에 EPC 사는 설비 모델을 재 모델링 하게 되며 이는 인력과 비용을 필요로 하게 된다. 따라서 기자재 제작사로부터 전달받은 상세한 CAD 모델을 자동으로 단순화 할 수 있는 기술을 도입할 필요가 있다. 이 논문은 대용량 플랜트 설비 B-rep 모델의 상세도 조절을 위한 통합적 방법을 제안한다. 먼저 플랜트 산업의 사용자 요구사항을 반영한 단순화 프레임워크를 정립하며 이는 전처리, 필터링, 순차적 LOD 조절, 후처리로 구성된다. 또한 효율적인 순차적 LOD 조절을 위한 다양한 요소 기술을 제안한다. 마지막으로 제안하는 방법의 효율성을 검증하기 위해 프로토타입 시스템을 구현하고 7개의 테스트 모델을 통해 실험을 수행한다. 실험 결과 단순화 된 모델은 원본 모델의 주요 특징을 잘 보존하며 테스트 모델의 데이터 크기도 크게 감소함을 알 수 있었다.한국과학기술원 :기계공학과
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
