Understanding US firm efficiency and its asset pricing implications
We investigate the link between firm-level total factor productivity (TFP) growth, technical efficiency change, and their implications on firm-level stock returns. We estimate total factor productivity growth of US firms between 1966 and 2015 and decompose TFP growth into returns to scale, technical progress, and technical efficiency change components. We show that most of the variation in TFP growth is explained by variation in technical efficiency change. Moreover, we examine the effects of important macro- and micro-level factors on inefficiency as well as its asset pricing implications. We find that low-efficiency firms are more vulnerable to a wide class of aggregate economic shocks, and the well-known five stock return anomalies (Fama and French in J Financ Econ 116(1):1–22, 2015) are more pronounced among those firms. Our results also emphasize the role of macroeconomic determinants of efficiency, and the stability effects of many useful policy targets on firm-level TFP

Three parasite species were identified in the host fish species: Gyrodactylus elegans, Nordmann, 1 S32; Dactylogyrns extensus Mueller ve Van Cleave, 1932 (Monogenea, Plathelminthes): Bothriocephalus acheilognathi, Yamaguti, 1934 (Cestoda, Plathelminthes). From these species, G. elegans was found on the gills of 2 fish (%2.8, 5.0 parasite/fish) and on the fins of 16 fish (%22.5, 7.6 parasite/fish). Dactylogyrus extensus was found on the gills of 65 fish (%91.5, 22.1 parasite/fish). Bothriocephalus acheilognathi was found in the intesiine of 10 host fish (%14.0, 10.8 parasite/fish). D. extensus was the dominant species found on the host fish. The highest infection rate and mean parasite was in winter and minimum value was in summer and spring. The smaller common carp have more infection rate than larger common carp specimens by D. extensus. G. elegans was found on middle size fish's fins in spring, on the gills in winter. There is no meaningful difference between two parasite species in male and female common carps. The infection occurred by B. acheilognathi was more common in small and middle size host fish species in winter than in spring and summer. Male fish specimens were infected more than female fish by B. acheilognathi. Keywords: Cyprinus, Dactylogyrus, Bothriocephalus, Gyrodactylus, Lake Karamik 1
Capacity Constraint, Price Discrimination, and Oligopoly
In the presence of market power in oligopolistic environment, price discrimination is a natural phenomenon. Surprisingly this setting has not been analyzed in depth in the literature. In contrast with existing literature, e.g., Hazledine (2006) and Kutlu (2009), we consider quantity setting games where firms compete in two stages. In the first stage firms decide on the choice of capacity and in the second stage they decide on the structure of price discrimination where the level of price discrimination is exogenous. In contrast to Hazledine (2006) we find that in the Cournot framework the quantity-weighted average price depends on the level of price discrimination. We also find that in the Stackelberg framework both the leader and the follower price discriminate as opposed to Kutlu (2009) which concludes that the leader doesn't price discriminate. Moreover, it is discovered that both the players (even the follower) prefer to be in the Stackelberg framework rather than the Cournot framework when price discrimination exists. Comparing welfare under various settings, it is found that competition is not always good for the total welfare if price discrimination exists. desirable axioms.

Measuring market power when firms price discriminate
© 2017, Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg. We propose conduct parameter-based market power measures within a model of price discrimination, extending work by Hazledine (Econ Lett 93:413–420, 2006) and Kutlu (Econ Lett 117:540–543, 2012) to certain forms of second-degree price discrimination. We use our model to estimate the market power of US airlines in a price discrimination environment. We find that a slightly modified version of our original theoretical measure is positively related to market concentration. Moreover, on average, market power for high-end segment is greater than that of low-end segment

Modeling and simulation strategies in wireless propagation and coverage planning
Uluışık, Çağatay (Dogus Author) -- Sevgi, Levent (Dogus Author)This paper presents two-dimensional (2D) user-friendly, tailored with attractive and useful graphical user interfaces (GUI), Matlab propagation packages based on the classical knife-edge model and the parabolic equation method that can handle realistic propagation scenarios with non-flat, arbitrarily-designed and user-selected terrain profiles. Any 2D propagation scenario may be built by the user, and field vs. range and/or height profiles can be simulated
