Book Review of Unni Wikan, In Honor of Fadime: Murder & Shame. Translated by Anna Paterson.
The writer Unni Wikan, a Norwegian by nationality is a social anthropologist who has worked at various universities a professor of social anthropology. Wikan has also worked as a consultant with international organisations such as United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and the World Food Program (WFP).
In this book, the author tried to explore Fadime’s (a Swedish girl of Turkish origin) honour killing case under the light of different socio- cultural traditions and immigration issues. Honour killing is one of an extreme act of violence against women which highlights their subordinated position within patriarchal societies. Since last few decades Anthropologists, social scientists, journalists and NGO’s in different parts of the world have started to raise this issue seriously through exploring case studies, writing books, articles and several projects

PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN MEDIA SOSIAL TIKTOK TERHADAP PERILAKU PROKRASTINASI AKADEMIK SISWA DI SMAN 1 KAUMAN TULUNGAGUNG

Pengaruh Penggunaan Media Sosial Tiktok Terhadap Perilaku Prokrastinasi Akademik Siswa Di SMAN 1 Kauman Tulungagung. Pembimbing Wikan Galuh Widyarto, M.Pd. Tiktok merupakan sebuah platform yang menyuguhkan berbagai video pendek yang dipadukan dengan musik. Kebanyakan pengguna tiktok adalah usia remaja atau pelajar karena bagi mereka tiktok dapat menghiburnya dikala bosan. Penggunaan tiktok secara berlebihan tentu akan berdampak buruk bagi siswa salah satunya prokrastinasi akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) mengetahui tingkat penggunaan media sosial tiktok, 2) tingkat perilaku prokrastinasi akademik, 3) pengaruh antara penggunaan media sosial tiktok terhadap prokrastinasi akademik siswa SMAN 1 Kauman Tulungagung. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis kausalitas. Adapun sampel dalam penelitian ini merupakan siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Kauman Tulungagung yang berjumlah 182 siswa dengan populasi sebanyak 380 siswa. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa tingkat penggunaan media sosial tiktok berada pada kategori tinggi yakni sebanyak 100 siswa dengan presentase 55%, tingkat prokrastinasi berada pada kategori rendah yakni sebanyak 118 siswa dengan presentase 65%. Pada uji regresi linier sederhana didapatkan hasil nilai regresi yaitu bernilai positif (+) Y= 53.491+0,320X, sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa penggunaan media sosial tiktok (x) berpengaruh positif terhadap prokrastinasi akademik (y), pada uji T didapatkan hasil bahwa nilai T hitung > T tabel yaitu 16,114 > 1,973. Dengan adanya hasil tersebut dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima yang berarti ada pengaruh antara penggunaan media sosial tiktok terhadap perilaku prokrastinasi akademik pada siswa SMAN 1 Kauman Tulungagung. COMPARISON OF SERUM SODIUM, SERUM POTASSIUM, AND BLOOD HEMOGLOBIN CHANGES AFTER TRANSURETHRAL RESECTION OF THE PROSTATE BETWEEN IRRIGATION WITH NORMAL SALINE AND STERILE WATER
Objective: This study aims to know whether there are significant differences of blood sodium, potassium and hemoglobin level among patients post TURP who was irrigated by using normal saline and the sterile water. Material & Method: This is a single blind randomized clinical trial study performed from September 1, 2008 until August 31, 2009. Thirty-one subjects participated in this study. The subjects were divided into two groups, 14 subjects for normal saline (group I) irrigation and 17 subjects for sterilized water irrigation (group II). Results: There are statistically differences (p < 0,05) between hemoglobin concentrations changes in group I, and hemoglobin and sodium concentration changes in group II. There were no statistically differences (p > 0,05) in sodium and potassium changes in group I and potassium in group II. There are no statistically differences in hemoglobin, sodium, and potassium changes among two groups. Conclusion: Normal saline irrigant for irrigation after TURP give more stable post operative electrolyte profile compared to sterilized water. Analisa Kecepatan Pengelasan dan Kecepatan Putar Mata Pahat terhadap Konduktivitas Listrik Sambungan Aluminium dan Tembaga Hasil Friction Stir Welding (FSW)
The tool pin rotational speed and welding speed affect the electrical conductivity value of the Al-Cu connection. Al-Cu connection is a butt joint resulting from the friction stir welding (FSW) process. The material used is Al 6061 and pure copper. The friction stir welding (FSW) process uses a pin tool with a pin design that integrates with the pin tool and a three-degree angle. The purpose of this study was to determine the electrical conductivity value of the Al-Cu connection with the friction stir welding (FSW) process at the butt joint connection. The variables used in this study were pin tool rotation speeds of 800, 1000, and 1250 RPM and welding speeds of 10, 12.5, and 16 mm/min. Tests conducted in this study were macro structure testing, measurement of resistance values, and microhardness testing. Besides, an analysis of heat input and welding time is needed for each variable. The results of macro and XRD structure test results show that in the aluminum and copper connection, there are intermetallic compounds in the form of AlCu and Al2Cu. The results of the analysis state that the welding results with a welding speed of 12.5 mm/min are the most optimum variables. The welding process results in conductivity values ranging from 27.173 mΩ-1mm-2 and 28.09 mΩ-1mm-2. The presence of intermetallic compounds affects the conductivity value of the connection
The changes of serum prostate specific antigen level in advanced prostate cancer patients undergoing palliative transurethral prostate resection
Background: Total Prostate specific antigen (tPSA) is a substance secreted by the prostate gland. It levels vary depending on the condition of the prostate and typically increase in response to increased prostate volume, cancer, infection, urinary retention and others. Conversely, tPSA levels decrease following a reduction in prostate volume. Palliative transurethral resection of the prostate (pTURP) is a procedure performed to relieve urinary retention in patients with metastatic prostate cancer who are not candidates for, or do not consent to, definitive treatment.Objective: This study aims to compare tPSA levels before and after pTURP in patients with advanced prostate cancer.Method: Using retrospective cross-sectional studyutilized patient medical records and laboratory results to compare pre- and post-operative tPSA levels. Data were collected from the UGM Academic Hospital's medical record between 2019 and 2022. Inclusion criteria included patients with available pre-operativeand post-operative tPSA levels and anatomic pathology results. Tumor characteristics were classified as cT3-4 or cN+ with any PSA level and any ISUP grade. Patients presented with symptoms such as urinary obstruction, pelvic pain, and/or haematuria, and all diagnoses were confirmed via prostate biopsy. Data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test.Results: A total of 40 patients met the inclusion criteria. The mean average age was 72.45 years. The average resection time was 60.42 ± 5.41 minutes, and the mean resected tissue weight was 27.50 ± 8.06 grams. Complications occurred in 30% of patients within 90 days post-pTURP. A significant decrease in tPSA levels was observed after pTURP (p<0.05). Furthermore, the change in tPSA (delta tPSA) showed a linear and positive correlation with the weight of resected tissue.Conclusion: Palliative transurethral resection of the prostate in patients with advanced prostate cancer significantly reduces serum tPSA levels
Simulasi Pembebanan Komponen Bender pada Desain Mesin Begel Fabricator Menggunakan Software Autodesk Inventor 2020
Stress analysis of the bender components in the design of the begel fabricator machine was carried out using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) with three variations of the constituent material parameters, namely 6061 aluminum, mild steel, and cast iron with a modulus of elasticity of 68.9 GPa, 220 GPa, 120.5 GPa, respectively. The test is carried out by a loading parameter 2520 MPa and fixed constraint. The maximum von misses stress and displacement obtained for each material parameter components using aluminum, mild steel, and cast iron are 17.78 MPa; 0.00765, 17.49 MPa; 0.00229, 17.62 MPa; 0.00427 respectively
Distributed Beamforming for Cognitive Radio Networks
Cognitive radio (CR) is an approach with high potentials in the effort of battling spectrum scarcity, introduced by J. Mitola in the late 90’s. It is capable of sensing the communication environment and adapting to it by changing its radio parameters. Beamforming technique allows the cognitive users to opportunistically access the licensed spectrum without interfering the licensed users by exploiting the spatial domain in the radio transmission. Distributed beamforming is a new concept to form communication beams by utilizing the distributed wireless nodes in order to transmit signals towards a distant destination. Applying distributed beamforming to the cognitive radio system gives the flexibility to the system, since the CR nodes are treated as virtual antenna arrays. CR also improves the lifespan of each node because the communication signal is generated in a distributed manner. This advantage of CR aligns with the principal of green communication which has the objective of less energy consumption. Power efficiency area is a particular field of interest in the cognitive radio domain, where cognitive nodes are small battery-powered devices, distributed randomly in an area. Optimal number of nodes selection is proposed in this thesis to optimize the power usage in the implementation of distributed beamforming in cognitive radio networks. The selection is based on the requirements of the primary licensed user in order to guarantee the quality of service (QoS) of the licensed user’s link. Recent works on the distributed beamforming field describe that the average beampattern shows a deterministic result and the mainlobe is independent of the particular node locations when the number of utilized nodes is considered as very large. However, for finite number of nodes, the beampattern does depend on the number of nodes and the way they are selected. In this thesis research, an approach is presented for deciding the number of nodes for distributed beamforming. Furthermore, several novel node selection algorithms such as Euclidean based, sector based, ring range, and circle range are proposed and their performances are studied in detail in this thesis work. In these entire schemes, the precise locations of distributed nodes of CR are needed. Further in this thesis, location errors of CR nodes and destination are taken into consideration. Its impact on the generated beampattern of the selected nodes is reported. Perancangan Media Promosi Instagram Artwork Consistency untuk Meningkatkan Brand Awareness
Media sosial Instagram menjadi salah satu media sosial yang sering digunakan sebagai media promosi. Saat ini media sosial Instagram menjadi media sosial yang paling banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat Indonesia, pernyataan ini didukung dengan data yang dikemukakan oleh Hootsuite tahun 2021. Sehingga hal ini dimanfaatkan oleh penulis sebagai perancangan media promosi untuk meningkatkan brand awareness dari Artwork Consistency yang merupakan brand dari Salatiga yang memproduksi aksesori handmade. Latar belakang penulis melakukan perancangan konten promosi ini dikarenakan Artwork Consistency tidak dapat mengolah konten. Oleh karena itu penulis membuat perancangan konten promosi yang menonjolkan visual produk yang menarik, sehingga dapat tersampaikan kepada target audiens. Metode yang digunakan penulis dalam melakukan perancangan adalah metode kualitatif dengan mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara. Pada proses perancangan ini, penulis menggunakan analisis STP dan teori bauran pemasaran serta bauran promosi. Pada uji publik yang dilakukan penulis, mendapatkan hasil yaitu perancangan ini layak untuk dipublikasi. Dalam keberhasilan promosi maka akan meningkatkan penjualan, oleh karena itu Artwork Consistency diharapkan dapat meningkatkan proses produksi dalam mengatasi calon konsumen yang meningkat.Instagram is one of the social media that is often used as a promotional medium. Currently, Instagram is the most widely used social media by Indonesian. This statement is supported by data submitted by Hootsuite in 2021. So this is used by the researcher as a promotional media design to increase brand awareness of Artwork Consistency, a brand from Salatiga that manufactures handmade accessories. The author's background in designing promotional content is because Artwork Consistency cannot process content. Therefore the author designs promotional content that highlights attractive product visuals so that it can be conveyed to the target audience. The method used by the author in designing is a qualitative method by collecting data through interviews. The authors use STP analysis, marketing mix and promotion mix in this design process. In the public test conducted by the author, the result is that this design is feasible for publication. An increase in promotion means an increase in sales, therefore, Artwork Consistency is expected to improve production process to balance with an increasing number of potential costumers
