Essential Kummer\u27s vectors
No full textIn this paper Kummer\u27s elements in the Stickelberger ideal of the group ring of the Galois group of the extension ℚ(ζ)/ℚ over the ring of rational integers are studied. A special linear operator is constructed for better understanding to these elements, and Kummer\u27s elements are mapped to Kummer\u27s vectors. Then one computational method is presented and the coherence between its results and the property of being essential for Kummer\u27s vectors is shown

Comput. Appl. Math. 83 (1997) 119], Miller [On a Kummer-type transformation for the generalized hypergeometric function F22, J. Comput. Appl. Math. 157 (2003) 507] and Paris [A Kummer-type transformation for a F22 hypergeometric function, J. Comput. Appl. Math. 173 (2005) 379]. Several new transformation formulae as well as their q-analogues for the same F22-series are also established

Equations defining reducible Kummer surfaces in ℙ⁵
No full textPrincipally polarized abelian surfaces are the Jacobians of smooth genus 2 curves or of stable genus 2 curves of special type. In [S] we studied equations describing Kummer surfaces in the case of an irreducible principal polarization on the abelian surface. The aim of this note is to give a treatment of the second case. We describe intermediate Kummer surfaces coming from abelian surfaces carrying a product principal polarization. In Proposition 12 we give explicit equations of these surfaces in ℙ⁵
