Generating Optimal Eighth Order Methods for Computing Multiple Roots
There are a few optimal eighth order methods in literature for computing multiple zeros
of a nonlinear function. Therefore, in this work our main focus is on developing a new family of
optimal eighth order iterative methods for multiple zeros. The applicability of proposed methods
is demonstrated on some real life and academic problems that illustrate the efficient convergence
behavior. It is shown that the newly developed schemes are able to compete with other methods
in terms of numerical error, convergence and computational time. Stability is also demonstrated
by means of a pictorial tool, namely, basins of attraction that have the fractal-like shapes along the
borders through which basins are symmetric

Experimental research to Optimize Process Parameters in Machining of Non Conducting Material with hybrid non conconventional machining
Among all non conventional micro machining, electrochemical discharge machining ECDM is having high quality of material removal rate with zero residual stress. This machining has been accepted as a highly modern technology in micromachining. In this paper an effort has been done on micro drilling of glass using electrochemical discharge machining ECDM . A fixed tool and a step down transformer have been used to support the steady machining to increase the accuracy of work piece. The input parameters used in this experiment are voltage, concentration of electrolyte, enter electrode gap and ratio of area of electrode. MRR has been investigated over the input parameters. Feed rate and electrolyte temperature has been made constant of 3µm sec and 30°c respectively. Taguchi method is used to optimize the effect of the process parameters on MRR. The signal to noise S N ratio and the ANOVA analysis are employed to find the contributions of input parameters. A Bosnian refugee who became a great story-teller: Adnan Mahmutovic on what drives him as a person and author
Adnan Mahmutovic is fast becoming a literary phenomenon across the Anglophonic world, courtesy a strong narrative voice that is unique and spotlights the human endurance in most extreme conditions, including war, ethnic cleansing and survival in new places as a refugee. His recent novel Thinner than a hair is in news; so is the collection of short fiction How to fare well and stay fair. Adnan has a PhD in English literature and an MFA in creative writing, and is currently a lecturer and writer-in-residence at the Department of English, Stockholm University. Fellow writer Sunil Sharma interviewed Adnan by email

Comparative performance of JM and FFMPEG codecs of H.264 AVC video compression standard
Includes bibliographical references (p. 47-49).With the rapid growth of wireless multimedia services, the demand for video transmission over wireless channels has been increasingly exponentially. This has led to the design of error resiliency schemes for obtaining better codecs. The perceptual video quality is influenced not only by the compression artifacts, but also by the channel errors. Hence, a video codec needs to accommodate contradictory requirements: coding efficiency and robustness to data loss, along with other limitations such as memory, bandwidth, real time coding and complexity. In this thesis, we have studied the comparative performance of two prominent open source H.264 AVC video codecs - Joint Model (JM) and Fast Forward Motion Picture Expert Group (FFMPEG). We have studied various features of these codecs, such as macroblock tree rate control, multi-pass encoding, and psychovisual optimization model (it includes the parameters like adaptive quantization, psy-RD and psy-trellis). Observations based on the PSNR values and rate-control have been used to analyze the objective video quality for error-free and corrupted bitstreams generated by both codecs. In addition, we have analyzed the creation of different priorities based on cumulative mean squared error (CMSE) values for dividing the I, P and B video frames into four priorities. These studies helped us in understanding which codec can be more robust against channel errors or losses and how we can improve their performance
