A note on Higgs decays into Z boson and J/Ψ(ϒ)
No full textAbstractRare decays h→ZV with V denoting the narrow cc¯ or bb¯ resonances, such as J/Ψ or ϒ states, have been analyzed. Within the standard model, these channels may proceed through the tree-level transition h→ZZ⁎ with the virtual Z⁎→V, and also loop-induced process h→Zγ⁎, followed by γ⁎→V. Our analysis shows that, for the bottomonium final states, the decay rate of h→Zϒ from the loop-induced process is small and the former transition gives the dominant contribution; while, for the charmonium final states, Γ(h→ZJ/Ψ) and Γ(h→ZΨ(2S)) induced by h→Zγ⁎→ZV could be comparable to the contribution given by the tree-level h→ZZ⁎→ZV transition
Potential use of radar differential reflectivity measurements at orthogonal polarizations for measuring precipitation
No full textThe potential use of differential reflectivity measurements at orthogonal polarizations to determine rainfall rate is examined. The method involves measurements of ZH and ZV, the radar reflectivity factors due to horizontally and vertically polarized incident waves respectively. The differential reflectivity, ZDR= 10 log (ZH/ZV), which should be precisely determinate, occurs as a result of the distortion of raindrops as they fall at terminal velocity. The approximate theory of Gans for electromagnetic scattering by spheroids is applied to the distorted raindrops. Assuming a general exponential form for the raindrop size distribution, equation sare derived relating the distribution parameters to the measurements. The determination of rainfall rate follows directly. Finally, the sensitivity of the distribution parameters to radar inaccuracies is examined, and several methods of implementing the measurements are suggested. It is concluded that good estimates of rainfall rate using a single non-attenuating wavelength radar are possible under ideal conditions

No full textThe article focuses on the period of the Slovenian War of Independence, not from a military or political perspective, but from the point of view of health workers who often risked their lives to help others. The story of Andrej Fink, who at the time was employed as an ambulance paramedic at the Rescue Station of the University Clinical Centre Ljubljana (UKC Ljubljana), and today is the Head of the Health Dispatching Service at UKC Ljubljana, is the main focus of the article. In March 2024, the author of this article recorded an interview with him, in which he shared his memories of the war and revealed many historical details.Članek se osredotoča na obdobje slovenske osamosvojitvene vojne, vendar ne iz vojaške ali politične perspektive, pač pa z vidika zdravstvenih delavcev, ki so marsikdaj tvegali svoje življenje, da so lahko pomagali drugim. V ospredje je postavljena zgodba Andreja Finka, ki je bil v tistem času zaposlen kot reševalec na Reševalni postaji Univerzitetnega kliničnega centra Ljubljana (UKC Ljubljana), danes pa je vodja Dispečerske službe zdravstva pri UKC Ljubljana. No full textIn his paper, the author discusses the process of climate change research, with special reference to the research of Franz Unger (1800-1870). The son of a Maribor mother, Franz Unger was one of the pioneers of research on greenhouse phenomena. Through research into his lineage, his links with other researchers, his travels around the world and his lifetime academic career, we are moving towards a better appreciation of Unger’s achievements in the field of environmental research. In the context of ecology, his research on fossils and botany in the Celje area and beyond is also of great interest.V prispevku avtor obravnava proces raziskovanja spreminjanja podnebja s posebnim ozirom na raziskovanja Franza Ungerja (1800-1870). Chosen ethic problems in the purport of cross-section themes
No full textContemporary transformation of the Czech primary educational system is characterized according to RVP ZV. The thesis deal with cohesion of the RVP ZV and ethic aspects. The author focuses on ethic education as a complementary educional branche and surveys approaches of individual teachers to this curriculum. The theoretical part explains basic ideas such as ethic, curriculum and section themes. The work acquaints with the ethic education, its aims, methods and its representation in the curriculum. In the practical part are analysed the statements of respondents and compared the approaches of pedagogues to the own realised curriculum with the ethic aspects. The aim of work is to discover, whether the ethic education is involved in the teaching and how the teachers approach to this education
Terezija Vajngerl - Tetka: Neustrašna kurirka Osvobodilne fronte v primežu Informbiroja
No full textThe author focuses on the life of the Maribor housewife Terezija Vajngerl (1913-1997), who was strongly marked by the Second World War, when she proved to be a bold and courageous courier of the Liberation Front for Prlekija and Slovenske gorice, and by the post-war establishment of a new social order, when in 1949 she was subjected to a Cominform (Informbiro) show trial on the charge of inter-war collaboration with the Gestapo. The accusation concerned her contact with the Gestapo interpreter Hans Gerniak, a pre-war Maribor Hitlerite, through whom, as a courier, Tetka protected herself and her relatives after being compromised by the Gestapo, while at the same time obtaining information for the resistance movement. Her case, which resulted in her acquittal after numerous favorable testimonies from former OF collaborators, was closely linked to the prosecution of the main organiser of the resistance movement in Maribor in 1943-44, Dušan Špindler, whose courier she was.Avtorica se v razpravi ukvarja z življenjsko potjo mariborske gospodinje Terezije Vajngerl (1913–1997), ki jo je močno zaznamovala druga svetovna vojna, ko se je izkazala kot drzna in pogumna kurirka Osvobodilne fronte za Prlekijo in Slovenske gorice, ter povojno vzpostavljanje novega družbenega reda, ko je bila leta 1949 podvržena informbirojevskemu sodnemu procesu zaradi obtožbe o medvojnem sodelovanju z Gestapom. Očitek je zadeval njen stik s tolmačem Gestapa Hansom Gerniakom, predvojnim mariborskim hitlerjancem, s pomočjo katerega je kot kurirka Tetka zaščitila sebe in svojce po kompromitaciji na Gestapu in obenem pridobivala informacije za odporniško gibanje. No full textIn this biographical and cultural-historical study, the author examines the life of the teacher Jadviga Golež (1911-1944), who was tragically affected by the Second World War, in the specific conditions of resistance in Maribor, on the border of cultural worlds and at the intersection of national myths. Already at the beginning of the Nazi occupation, the Maribor resident, who taught in the folk school in Šmartno ob Paki in the years before the war, was active in the resistance, and from mid-1943 until the spring of 1944 she was a central figure in the network of the teacher Dušan Špindler, then the main organiser of the Maribor resistance movement. She was a member of the District Committee of the Liberation Front (OF) and the District Committee of the Communist Party of Slovenia (KPS), and the first secretary of the city committee of the Slovenian Anti-Fascist Women’s Union. After leaving for the partisans in the spring of 1944, she became the deputy political commissar of the Lacko Battalion, and after it joined the Pohorje Detachment, she went to Pohorje herself. She continued to work as a courier in Gorenjska, then as a member of the OF district committee in Slovenske gorice. In August 1944, after being betrayed and arrested by the Gestapo and tortured in a prison cell, she committed suicide. The tragic biography of a teacher illustrates the hard and sure penetration of the female gender into the public sphere during the years of the Second World War and especially in the post-World War II era.Avtorica se v biografski in kulturnozgodovinski študiji ukvarja z življenjsko potjo učiteljice Jadvige Golež (1911–1944), ki jo je tragično prečila druga svetovna vojna, in to v specifičnih razmerah odporništva v Mariboru na meji kulturnih svetov in presečišču nacionalnih mitov. Že v začetku nacistične okupacije je Mariborčanka, ki je v letih pred vojno učila v ljudski šoli v Šmartnem ob Paki, delovala odporniško, od srede leta 1943 do pomladi 1944 pa je bila osrednja osebnost v mreži učitelja Dušana Špindlerja, tedaj glavnega organizatorja mariborskega odporniškega gibanja. Bila je članica Okrožnega odbora OF in Okrožnega komiteja KPS ter prva sekretarka mestnega odbora Slovenske protifašistične ženske zveze. Po odhodu v partizane spomladi 1944 je postala namestnica politkomisarja Lackovega bataljona, po njegovi priključitvi Pohorskemu odredu pa je tudi sama odšla na Pohorje. Še naprej je opravljala kurirsko službo na Gorenjsko, nato je bila članica okrožnega odbora OF v Slovenskih goricah. Avgusta 1944 je po izdaji in aretaciji Gestapa ter mučenju v zaporniški celici napravila samomor. Input shaper design using impulse-time perturbation method
No full textIn this paper, symmetric perturbation-based extra-insensitive input shaper (SPEI-IS) is newly proposed based on the impulse-time perturbation method. The proposed input shaper is devised by multiplying two input shapers in Laplace domain, of which the impulse-times are slightly perturbed from the ZV shaper, which results in a hump in its sensitivity curve. Different from the PEI-IS introduced by the same author, the SPEI-IS has symmetric notch points to enhance the robustness especially in low frequency range. For its usability, an explicit solution will be presented using Taylor approximation

The tasks that the author of the thesis selects as exemplary will be justified and compared with the theoretical starting points presented in the theoretical part of the thesis. In the practical part of the final thesis, selected tasks will be solved with pupils of multi-year grammar schools or elementary schools, and their solutions will be reflected with the defined critical place of Czech pupils in mathematics, with the expected outputs in the RVP ZV and with the results of the PISA and TIMSS assessments

No full textIn Nederland zijn er vele havendammen die de primaire waterkeringen plaatselijk beschermen tegen grote golfaanval. Zelfs onder maatgevende omstandigheden zijn vele van deze dammen nog hoog genoeg om een belangrijk reducerende werking te hebben op de inkomende golven. Deze golfreducerende werking is met name zeer welkom als de toetsing van de waterkering alleen tot het resultaat ‘goed’ kan leiden dankzij deze invloed van de havendam, en een ‘onvoldoende’ zou opleveren zonder deze havendam. Uiteraard kan de invloed van de golfreducerende werking van havendammen alleen in rekening gebracht worden in de veiligheidstoetsing, als de havendam in stand blijft onder de maatgevende omstandigheden voor de toetsing.
