Summary:
Magnesium is a very important macronutrient in the human body. Its main storage is bones. The correct concentration of this macronutrient within the normal range is necessary for the proper functioning of the body. Deficiency of this element negatively affects the entire body. One of the symptoms of magnesium deficiency is depression and other psychiatric disorders. The factors explaining the mechanism of magnesium's antidepressant effect are not fully understood, however,
a relationship between magnesium deficiency and the pathogenesis of depression has been demonstrated. Supplementation with preparations of this element improves the condition in ill people with depression. [3][6]

No full textArtykuł stanowi analizę i interpretację debiutanckiej książki Filipa Springera Miedzianka. Historia znikania za pomocą kategorii tekstowej hybrydy stworzonej przez Grzegorza Grochowskiego. Autorka udowadnia, że Springer, sięgając do środków literackich wypracowanych w ramach modelu literatury "małych ojczyzn" oraz schematu reportażu śledczego, zaburza jednoznaczny status dyskursywny swojej wypowiedzi. Ze względu na hybrydyczny charakter Miedzianka... staje się medium pamięci kulturowej nie w sensie zewnętrznego nośnika, w którym zdeponowane zostają pewne treści, ale raczej w sensie nosiciela czy miejsca wytwarzania modeli pamięci.The article concerns Filip Springer's first work Miedzianka. The Story of Disappearance. The author does an analysis and interpretation of mentioned book using Grzegorz Grochowski's concept of hybrid text. The aim of the following paper is to indicate function that Miedzianka... as a memory medium performs - not an illustration but a point of discourse creation - and means developed within fictional and non-fictional literature, inevitable for realization of its tasks

The author mainly focuses on providing a reliable discussion of the circumstances of the establishing of the group by its founders, i.e. Grzegorz Timofiejew, Marian Piechal, and Kazimierz Sowiński, and a careful specification of its programme. She also interpreted the Meteor’s works, i.e. revolutionist literary texts published in the Czasopismo Poetyckie Meteor, created by the members of the group

SUMMARY
Rheumatoid arthritis is a systemic autoimmune disease of connective tissue of unknown etiology. Specific for it is the involvement of symmetrically small and medium-sized joints, leading to degradation of their structure, stiffening and muscle contractures. It is also characterized by extra-articular and generalized symptoms, such as fatigue, low-grade fever and sweating. It can occur with or without elevated RF and / or ACPA antibodies, causes disability and contributes to premature death. Drugs for this disease can be categorized into disease-modifying drugs as well as glucocorticosteroids and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The first-line drug is methotrexate. In case of ineffectiveness of the treatment, biological treatment can be started.

Polowanie jako spektakl i metafora: rola scen myśliwskich w filmach fabularnych
Full text linkThe author discusses hunting scenes in film representing a variety of genres not for their iconography, but rather for their metaphorical impact. Filmmakers use hunting as a metaphor to speak about completely different issues. They explore political topics, expose their ideological and ethical aspects, focus on instances of customary behaviour. Alicja Helman points out the link between hunting and death. According to her, people who are capable to kill animals are also capable to kill people – not only at war, but for other reasons as well. The article focuses mainly on the works which became models for later films belonging to the traditions of ethno-fiction, western, horror, and psychological drama

No full textWystawa wirtualna "Z WARSZTATU KONSERWATORA ZBIORÓW PAN BIBLIOTEKI GDAŃSKIEJ". Gromadzone przez wieki w bibliotekach zbiory są obiektami zbudowanymi z materiałów organicznych ulegających naturalnemu starzeniu. Niekorzystne warunki zewnętrzne, np. wojny, powodzie, pożary, zalania oraz zanieczyszczenia powietrza, światło, niewłaściwa temperatura i wilgotność mają negatywny wpływ na kondycję zabytków. Występują zabrudzenia powierzchni, zniszczenia mikrobiologiczne, ubytki, niekorzystne zmiany chemiczne podłoża, farb, barwników, atramentów itp. Praca dyplomowanych konserwatorów zabytków z papieru, pergaminu i skóry polega na diagnozowaniu zniszczeń, wyborze i zastosowaniu odpowiednich metod dla spowolnienia procesów starzenia i przywrócenia wartości estetycznych. W praktyce specjaliści zajmują się ratowaniem różnorodnych obiektów takich jak: starodruki, rękopisy, dokumenty pergaminowe (w tym z pieczęciami), grafiki, mapy, obiekty kolorowe i kolorowane, rysunki, fotografie. Autorki wystawy przedstawiają jedynie wybrane zagadnienia dotyczące konserwacji. Na wystawie zaprezentowano wybrane metody identyfikacji zniszczeń (obserwacje w świetle UV, badanie pH), rozpoznanie elementów budowy zabytków (znaki wodne) oraz niektóre zabiegi konserwatorskie w kolejności ich wykonania: czyszczenie na sucho i mokro, uzupełnianie ubytków w papierze, pergaminie i skórze. Zagadnienia związane z pracami konserwatorskimi zostały omówione na przykładzie zabiegów stosowanych na wybranych obiektach z zasobów PAN Biblioteki Gdańskiej.
Translating the World. Socio-translation Studies According to Alicja Iwańska
No full textThe article focuses on cultural translation and its ethical consequences according to Alicja Iwańska (1918–1996), a Polish sociologist and writer. In her book Świat przetłumaczony [The Translated World] (1968) Iwańska uses a figure of a translator-traitor while trying to translate Mexico conquered by the Spanish to Poland ruined by the Nazis and Stalinists – the book was the literary aftermath of her field work on the culture of Indian Mazahua of a secluded Mexican village. The scientific aftermath of the same research was her anthropological monograph Purgatory and Utopia. A Mazahua Indian Village of Mexico (1971). The first book, written in Polish, was described by the author as “a fictionalized account”, “a literary production”; the second, written in English, was designed as “relatively free from the interference of extra-scientific emotional elements”. For Alicja Iwańska, before the Second World War a philosophy student under prof. Tatarkiewicz, translating a culture is an ethical problem; the complex relations between truth, falsity and fiction in intercultural translation are coupled with the issues of expressibility in a specific narrative (literary versus scientific) and a specific language (Polish versus English). Iwańska’s books, read again after 50 years from their creation, seem to be a forgotten link of the Polish translation theory
