A Polarographic Study of the Copper-formamidine Disulfide Dihydrochloride System in Aqueous Solution
No full textMany studies have been made on the solid complexes of thiourea with various metal ions. However, much less information is available on these systems in solutions. The copper(II)-thiourea system is especially intriguing. | Copper(II) complexes of thiourea (tu) are reported to be unstable (1) (2). Only one reference makes any attempt to describe the reaction products (3). They report that formamidine disulfide dihydrochloride (FDS*2HC1) and a copper(I) complex of thiourea result when cupric chloride is added to thiourea. However, it is felt by this author that inadequate proof is presented for the presence of FDS*2HC1 as a reaction product. In addition, if FDS*2HC1 is formed, it is surprising that complexation was not observed between the FDS*2HC1 and the copper present in the solution. If FDS*2HC1 can form complexes with copper, it would appear that cupric ions might be stabilized in the presence of thiourea.ProQuest Traditional Publishing Optio
Historical Landscape of the Barbat Area on the Island of Rab, Croatia
Get PDFRad donosi pregled razvoja povijesnog krajolika središnjeg dijela otoka Raba (područja Mundanija, Barbata i Banjola) od perioda antike do razdoblja kasne romanike. Promjene u povijesnom pejzažu otoka uvjetovane su nizom čimbenika koje rad predstavlja: geografskim karakteristikama terena, lokalnim životnim praksama, odnosom urbanog središta Raba s ruralnom okolinom te društvenim, političkim i umjetničkim kretanjima na području otoka Raba i šireg geopolitičkog područja (od Kvarnera do cijelog Jadrana, pa i šire). Na temelju rezultata dobivenih rekognosciranjem terena,analizom spomenika, proučavanjem literature i povijesnih izvora, cilj je rada predstaviti korpus spomenika navedenog područja, dati uvid u njihovo funkcioniranje u povijesnom pejzažu otoka Raba te pružiti neka razmatranja o okolnostima uslijed kojih su nastali i živjeli. Rad nastoji objediniti dva pristupa: ilustrirati lokalni kontekst istražene spomeničke baštine, odnosno njenu ulogu za rapsku povijest, kulturu i društvo, kao i značaj u okviru širih europskih kretanja. Trend intenzivne gradnje koji ugrožava preostalu spomeničku baštinu potencira nužnost njene revalorizacije u suvremenom društvu kako njeno postojanje ne bi bilo zauvijek izbrisano iz povijesnog otočnog krajolika, ali i naše svijesti.This paper presents the changes and the development of the historic landscape of the central part of Rab island in the Kvarner bay, Croatia (specifically Mundanije, Barbat and Banjol areas)from Antiquity to the late Romanesque period. Changes in the landscape have been influenced by numerous factors: geographical characteristics of terrain, local customs and traditions, the relation between a single urban centre and the rural scenery as well as other social, political and artistic trends on the island and beyond. The results of field surveys, the analysis of the historical
monuments and the use of scientific literature and historical sources have been used in order to present a corpus of the monuments of the aforementioned area, along with an insight into their functioning in the historic landscape of the island. Nova izgradnja i redefiniranje javnog prostora na središnjem području Trešnjevke
No full textRad će nastojati objediniti nekoliko pristupa u proučavanju problematike suvremenog urbanog prostora i uloge javnih prostora u gradu. Prvi će dio rada pristupiti našem poimanju grada i odnosa fizičkog prostora grada s mjestom u antropološkom smislu. U definiranju odnosa pojedinca i njegove neposredne urbane okoline koristit ćemo neke od koncepata urbane antropologije. Nakratko ćemo se osvrnuti i na koncept M. Castellsa o promjeni paradigme u suvremenom društvu i shvaćanju suvremenih urbanih kretanja unutar odnosa „prostora mjesta“ i „prostora tokova“. Također, predstavit ćemo sociološki koncept javnog prostora, njegovu ulogu u društvenom životu, oblike javnih prostora u gradskoj sredini te opasnosti koje po javni prostor donose suvremena kretanja u društvu. Sljedeće će poglavlje donijeti osvrt na urbanističke i sociološke pretpostavke urbane obnove te njen potencijal u oblikovanju fizičkog, ali i socijalnog prostora u suvremenom gradu. Pritom će sociološki pristup biti nadopunjen izborom relevantnog urbanističkog materijala. U radu će se nastojati iskoristiti neke prednosti urbanističkog pristupa radi dobivanja konkretnijeg uvida u urbanu problematiku, a teorijskom proučavanju pridodat će se iskustva tranzicijske Hrvatske i njihove specifičnosti. Treće poglavlje donosi odmak od proučavanja teorijskog pristupa. Uključuje rezultate istraživanja konkretnog primjera središnjeg područja Trešnjevke na kojemu će se proučavati sociološki aspekti urbane transformacije u tranzicijskom i posttranzicijskom razdoblju od 1990 - ih godina naovamo s posebnim osvrtom na promjene u javnom prostoru promatranog područja. Uvelike transformiran dio grada poslužit će kao ilustrativni primjer promjena koje hrvatsko urbano društvo proživljava na prijelazu iz socijalističkog u demokratsko uređenje. U raspravi će se objediniti teorijski zaključci iz prvog dijela rada i specifična situacija promatranog područja ulica jugozapadno od Tržnice Trešnjevka. Cilj je na području istraživanja prepoznati određene globalne urbanizacijske fenomene, ali i problemski izdvojiti lokalne specifičnosti po kojima se središnje područje naselja Trešnjevka izdvaja od ostalih zagrebačkih naselja
