Interview with Mike Krall
Audio recording and transcript of Mike Krall's 1979 interview with Myrtle Bergren for the Coal Tyee History Project. His wife, Laura Krall, also contributes to the interview. Krall discusses both his and his father's experiences working as coal miners on Vancouver Island. Krall opens the interview by talking about his involvement in creating the coal mining exhibit at the Nanaimo Museum. He gives details about mining jobs, equipment, and methods, including how explosives were used in the mine. He talks about various mine accidents, including one where his co-worker Bill Wilson was serious injured in the #10 Mine in South Wellington, the flooding of the Beban Mine in 1937, and his own close call in the #10. Both of the Kralls reflect on the inherent risks of coal mining and how miners and their families were cared for by mine doctors. Krall also discusses horses in the mines and early attempts to organize a union.https://library.viu.ca/libinfo/harmfullanguagestatementhttps://viuspace.viu.ca/bitstream/handle/10613/94/CoalTyeeKrallMScript1979.pdf?sequence=

Road density, road features, and in-vehicle PM2.5 during daily trips taken by Washington, DC metro area commuters
This dataset was used to conduct all analyses in the working paper, "Short-term associations of road density and road features with in-vehicle PM2.5 during daily trips" by Jenna R. Krall, Jonathan Thornburg, Ting Zhang, Anna Z. Pollack, Yi-Ching Lee, Michelle McCombs, and Lucas R. F. Henneman (2023+). This dataset is restricted to N=25 commuters with at least 15 minutes of consecutive GPS and air pollution data. Each row corresponds to a one-minute observation for a trip within day within commuter. The data contains 2311 rows and 29 variables. These data are provided as a .csv file, generated using R (v 4.2)
„Sublokatorka” po latach. Z Hanną Krall rozmawiają Elżbieta Janicka i Joanna Tokarska-Bakir. Warszawa, 28 lutego i 8 marca 2013 roku
"Sublokatorka" now. An interview with Hanna Krall: Warsaw, 28 February and 28 March 2013
The interview was conducted by Elżbieta Janicka and Joanna Tokarska-Bakir. Hanna Krall told the story of the issues related to the publication of Sublokatorka, which finally appeared in the Paris-based printing house Libella, owned by Zofia and Kazimierz Romanowicz, in 1985. Hanna Krall also spoke about how the book was received by the public in the unofficial underground discourse in the Communist Poland. Moreover, the author of Sublokatorka told the interviewers about the construction of stories about the Holocaust, as well as about the people who inspired the protagonists of Sublokatorka: Luba Bielicka-Blum, Rywka Urman, Krystyna Krahelska, Krzysztof Kieślowski and Jerzy Stuhr.
„Sublokatorka” po latach. Z Hanną Krall rozmawiają Elżbieta Janicka i Joanna Tokarska-Bakir. Warszawa, 28 lutego i 8 marca 2013 roku
Krall. Tkanie
The book Krall. Weaving I present, how Krall collects the shards of a mirror, not only Andersen’s one, which infects with evil, but also – simply – Stendhal’s one (if a novel is like a mirror carried along a high road, even more so is a reportage). The author takes readers to the other side of the mirror: she forages for additional dimensions in her texts, a more advanced description of reality or a new perspective.
What visibly emerges from Hanna Krall’s latest book is a pattern of strong interlacing. The two artistic processes that organize her texts are still collage (of stories, an attempt to determine them after the mirror breaks, from photos, prints) and montage (as a process of combining them into a coherent whole, possibly with a narrative designed to be incoherent).
I am interested in Hanna Krall’s (auto)biographical experience and its (non)presence in her writing. Hanna Krall’s experience is obviously Jewish, although she has consistently kept silent about her own family history, and has not developed it in the form of a reportage in more detail and open way than in the text I mentioned above. Nevertheless, from the interview conducted by Wojciech Tochman we know a lot of precious details.
I imagined the first part of the book as an attempt to put together a family history – from textual and non-textual scraps. In the concluding chapter, The Sa-crall-ization of the Storytelling I notice the act of writing as saving memory. Some of Krall’s texts catty a trace of exhaustion and amnesia. At the dedication ceremony of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington on April 22, 1993, Elie Wiesel reiterated: “This museum is not an answer, it is a question mark”. Just as Hanna Krall’s opus is.W książce Krall.

A method to study the Krall and q-Krall polynomials
AbstractWe describe a method allowing to obtain new results in studying the Krall and q-Krall polynomials. In particular, we establish the criterion for orthogonal polynomials to be eigenfunctions of 2Nth-order q-differential operator. This criterion is an exact q-analogue of corresponding Krall's criterion
