Hur ser ett ledarskap ut i en samskapande process? : Undersökande frågeställning inom konstnärliga praktiker

    No full text
In the early stages, my team discussed the working method we want to implement in our final project in performing arts, which we described as follows: Through a co-creative process with an equal focus on all components, we aim to create a performance that flows with images and multilingualism, where various aesthetics and expressions collide and juxtapose.  In my thesis, I explore how we relate to our working method through different tools, including those from leadership studies. This paper details how we define our working method within a co-creative process and examines how decision-making has been structured and has influenced our artistic process. With great hope, I see how my research can contribute to collective work within artistic practices and which useful methods can be used

“Difference” in the Police Department: Women, Policing, and “Doing Gender”

    No full text
In this chapter, the author reviews the concept of gender “difference” in relation to the criminal justice system. The author argues that the acceptance of women as different and the practice of doing gender, although initially allowing women entrance into the police organization, has continued to keep women police in subordinate positions, and thus creates conflict. To illustrate, the author analyzes research on the history of the entrance of women into the police organization as well as their experiences and conflicts. The research reveals that without the acceptance of the doctrine that women are different and more humanistic than men, the police organization might not have accepted the issues of women and children (issues of social service) as police responsibility. However, the continuing practice of treating women police 78as different has created conflict within the police organization and worked to keep them within the lower ranks of the organization

    No full text
The primary objectives of the study were to determine the profile of the public child welfare workers employed with the Department of Family and Children Services, to investigate what training had been received, where received, and to access what training was needed to adequately perform the duties of a Social Services Specialist. Also, the study assessed the workers perception of the quality of work life in a public child welfare agency. Methodologically, this study employed survey research and was comparative in nature. The study was conducted in one of the 159 counties in Georgia. The instruments utilized were a Public Child Welfare Questionnaire designed by the author and The Quality of Work Life Conditions/Feelings designed by Pfeiffer and Goodstein. The population of public child welfare workers employed at an agency in 1993 were surveyed. The major findings of this study revealed that: (1) Most public child welfare workers were nonsocial workers, which confirmed previous findings that most public child welfare workers do not have formal social work education; (2) The majority of public child welfare workers did not obtain their knowledge, skills, and abilities from education. The majority acquired their knowledge, skills, and abilities through on-the-job training; and (3) The study observed no significant difference between social workers and nonsocial workers feelings about their quality of work life

Why the inflation in legislation on women’s bodies

    No full text
This dissertation argues that historical patriarchal theories have crept into the world’s legal systems to date, and as a result this has led to inflation in legislation upon women’s bodies. The author seeks to prove that patriarchal theories have become part of our social and legal institutions to date, resulting in unnecessary controls placed upon women’s bodies to the point that, women’s attempt to assert autonomy over their own bodies have been criminalised or placed under heavy civil penalties. The author suggests that this has been particularly so because, women have been relegated to the private sphere and as such, are underrepresented within the legislature, political arenas, the process passing legislation and the legal profession in general. As well as analysing the structure of the various social, legal and political institutions as they relate to the causes of inflation in legislation upon women’s bodies, the author investigates the medicalisation of women’s bodies which has led to over legislation with regards to: legislation and women’s attire, Indecent exposure and the breast, the treatment of military women with regards to their bodily autonomy and pregnancy
