    Kite dynamics for ship propulsion

    Kite propulsion has emerged as an attractive means to harness wind power in a way that yields environmental and financial benefits. An understanding of the dynamics that affect kite motion and the resulting forces is required to facilitate the design and optimization of kite propulsion systems. In this thesis results from two line tension models are compared with experimentally recorded time histories for dynamic kite flight. New methodologies for investigating kite performance are established. The first zero mass model assumes that the kite and lines are weightless. The second, lumped mass model, considers the kites mass and thus makes use of the equations of motion. It is found that the two different models converge to the same result in the limit where the kite mass tends to zero. The zero mass model has been shown to compare favourably with experimental results. A method for parameterising figure of eight shape kite trajectories and for predicting kite velocity is presented. Results are shown for a variety of manoeuvre shapes, assuming realistic performance characteristics from an experimental test kite. Using a 320m2 kite, with 300m long flying lines in 6.18ms

    “For me, the joy of kiting lies in that fine sense of extension, in the fact that you have, almost literally, a hand reaching into the sky.” – Wyatt Brummit, author of Kites, 1971 The sight of multiple colourful kites can be breathtaking, and in some of our cultures they can symbolise the connection between the living and loved ones who have passed on. Across ‘KITE TALES’ Giles King and Ciaran Clarke held space and created acts of remembrance, reflection and recreation with kites. Across a series of kite-building workshops — as well as conversations centred around life and death — this project looked to the skies, reimagining death rituals, connecting our kites with memories, the living, and the spirit world through engagement with these who have lost loved ones. This engagement took place via death cafes as well as facilitated, recorded conversations across the kite-building workshops. The project culminated in a celebratory event at Mount Pleasant Ecological Park near Porthtowan. The visual and sound event saw 100’s of kites soaring into the sky above Cornwall, creating a beautiful spectacle of people coming together in celebration of life

    Welcome to the KITE v1.0. KITE is an open-source Python/C++ software suitable for Large-Scale Tight-Binding (TB) quantum transport calculations. The code is shipped with the following capabilities: Quantum Transport: longitudinal and transverse DC conductivities at zero and finite temperature; Optical Properties: AC longitudinal conductivity; Optical Properties: nonlinear optical susceptibility; Electronic Structure: high-resolution density of states (DoS) in clean and disordered systems; Electronic Structure: local density of states and ARPES; Special Features: automated magnetic field in 2D; Special Features: lattice perturbations (e.g., strain) and 'disorder cell' concept for implementation of multi-orbital/-bond impurities; Algorithms: ultra-high-resolution CPGF full spectral (DoS); Algorithms: high-resolution CPGF full spectral (finite temperature response functions); Algorithms: ultra-high-resolution CPGF single-shot (zero temperature DC conductivity) For further details on the algorithm and the implementation please consult ArXiv:1910.05194 Getting Started For understanding the main functionalities of the code, how to setup a model and evaluate the KITE target functions, we suggest you to check the tutorial Getting Started. Taking existing source material (KST's Electronic songs) and orchestrating to be performed with symphony orchestra. Performance is quasi-improvisatory, so different each time it is performed. A bekerülési érték részletezése belföldi és külföldi beszerzés esetén is megtörtént. A nyilvántartási áraknál a vizsgálatom célja az volt, hogy ajánlható-e jobb módszer a nyilvántartási árra a KITE zRt-nek. A jelenleg használt FIFO módszer mellett vizsgálatom kiterjedt a HIFO módszerre, folyó átlagáras, valamint az éves átlagáras módszerre.
