This is one of hundreds of 60-second radio spots created by the Center for East Asian Studies (CEAS) for Kansas Public Radio (KPR). The purpose of this outreach program is to introduce the people of Kansas to the culture and current issues of East Asia.Broadcast Transcript: Spicy kimchee and garlicky fish. Standard fare in Korea. Good for the health, sure, but for the breath? Not so much. So in an attempt to promote healthy eating along with kissably fresh breath, Korean scientists have developed the tiny kiss apple. Apples are known to be natural breath fresheners but chomping down on an after dinner regulation size fruit could ruin the romantic mood. Hence the kiss apple. The ping-pong ball sized fruit can be popped in the mouth whole. Not content with nature's toothbrush as it is, the developers are already dreaming of mass producing a better kiss apple, one that offers enhanced odor control. KISS: Stochastic Packet Inspection Classifier for UDP Traffic
This paper proposes KISS, a novel Internet classifica- tion engine. Motivated by the expected raise of UDP traffic, which stems from the momentum of Peer-to-Peer (P2P) streaming appli- cations, we propose a novel classification framework that leverages on statistical characterization of payload. Statistical signatures are derived by the means of a Chi-Square-like test, which extracts the protocol "format," but ignores the protocol "semantic" and "synchronization" rules. The signatures feed a decision process based either on the geometric distance among samples, or on Sup- port Vector Machines. KISS is very accurate, and its signatures are intrinsically robust to packet sampling, reordering, and flow asym- metry, so that it can be used on almost any network. KISS is tested in different scenarios, considering traditional client-server proto- cols, VoIP, and both traditional and new P2P Internet applications. Results are astonishing. The average True Positive percentage is 99.6%, with the worst case equal to 98.1,% while results are al- most perfect when dealing with new P2P streaming applications
Sosiaalisen median strategia Radio Kissille : Case Radio Kiss, Bauer Media Oy
Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli luoda Radio Kissille toimiva sosiaalisen median strategia, jota käytetään apuvälineenä osana markkinointisuunnitelmaa. Sosiaalisen median strategian luonti oli välttämätöntä, jotta Radio Kiss kykenee saavuttamaan aseman uskottavana sisällöntuottajana radiotaajuuden lisäksi myös sosiaalisessa mediassa.
Onnistunut sosiaalisen median strategia vahvistaa brändin tunnettavuutta ja brändiuskollisuutta, kasvattaa konversiota sekä parantaa yrityksen ja kohdeyleisön välistä vuorovaikutusta, Työssä käydään läpi myös sosiaalisen median trendejä, hyötyjä sekä haittoja radiokanavan toiminnalle.
Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin toimeksiantona Bauer Media Oy:lle, ja sen ensisijaisena tavoitteena oli luoda strategia, joka vahvistaa vuorovaikutussuhdetta Radio Kissin seuraajien kanssa. Jotta Radio Kiss voi olla uskottava radiokanava, sen on oltava siellä, missä kohderyhmäkin on. Siksi taustalle luotiin johdonmukainen, säännöllinen ja tavoitteellinen sosiaalisen median strategia, joka laadittiin Paul Smithin kehittämän SOSTAC-suunnittelumallin avulla. Malli valikoitui avuksi strategian luomiselle siksi, että Radio Kissillä ei ole ollut aikaisemmin sosiaalisen median strategiaa, ja siitä haluttiin mahdollisimman yksityiskohtainen.
SOSTAC-suunnittelumalli sisältää tilanneanalyysin, tavoitteet, toimintasuunnitelman, taktiikan, toimintatavat ja kontrolloinnin. Pääkanaviksi valittiin toimituksen kesken Facebook sekä Instagram, mutta strategiaa voidaan hyödyntää myös muiden sosiaalisen median kanavien kehittämisessä sekä strategian laadinnassa.
Osana työtä toteutettiin kvalitatiivinen kyselytutkimus Radio Kissin seuraajien käyttäytymisestä ja toiveista eri sosiaalisen median kanavien osalta. Kuukauden auki ollut tutkimus julkaistiin Facebookissa sekä Instagram Stories -alustalla, ja se keräsi yhteensä 150 vastausta. Kysely antoi pohjaa strategian luonnille antaen osviittaa siitä, mitä kanavia seuraajat käyttävät, minkälaista sisältöä he toivovat Radio Kissin sosiaalisen median kanaviin, ja kuinka usein.
Kyselytutkimusta sekä aikaisempia tilastoja ja analytiikkaa hyödyntäen luotiin sosiaalisen median strategia, jota voidaan soveltaa myös muiden radiokanavien sosiaalisen median strategioiden luomiseen.The purpose of this thesis is to create a systematic social media strategy for Radio Kiss. Strategy is part of the radio station’s marketing strategy and it works as an aid to Radio Kiss employees on daily devices. It is necessary to create a social media strategy for Radio Kiss, in order that station can reach its goal as a credible content provider in social media platforms. Successful social media strategy strengthens station’s credibility and brand’s loyalty among followers and listeners. It increases conversion and improves interaction between the company and the target audience. Facebook and Instagram were chosen as the main channels because of popularity and target audience’s preferences.
This thesis also examines the relationship between social media and the radio station and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of social media use. It is told how and why a radio station should create a social media strategy. It also reviews social media’s past and upcoming trends in 2019.
The primary aim of this thesis is to improve interaction between the followers and the Radio Kiss through social media with the help of the systematic strategy. This strategy is a development work that was done as an assignment by Bauer Media Oy.
In order for Radio Kiss to be a credible radio channel, it must be where the target audience is. Therefore a consistent, regular and goal-oriented social media strategy was created by using SOSTAC planning model developed by Paul Smith. This planning model was chosen because it’s specific steps, which contains situation analysis, objectives, strategy, tactics, action and controls. SWOT analysis were also integrate with the strategy’s situation analysis.
A qualitative research which was released in Radio Kiss’ Facebook and Instagram Stories - platform gave a lot of new information about the behavior and wishes of the followers of Radio Kiss in relation to various social media channels. The research gave some indication of which channels followers use, what kind of content they want to see on Radio Kiss's channels, when and how often. The social media strategy was developed by considering these results given by a qualitative research.
This strategy gives the company the opportunity to engage the followers increasingly with Radio Kiss. The information in the thesis can be used for planning social media strategy of any radio stations
