A System for Assessing the Knowledge and Skills of Students in Computer Programming
This article presents the author’s experience in
teaching programming to university students in first and second year. The system for assessing the knowledge and skills of students is an essential part of teaching. It aims not only to assess students, but also to help improving their knowledge. The importance and difficulty of Computer Programming requires specific and unconventional approach to this activity. The article discusses all three elements of ongoing assessment (tests for knowledge, homeworks, and practical programming skills), as well as the rules for final exams and final assessment
A Genomic Analysis of the Bacillus Bacteriophage Kirovirus kirovense Kirov and Its Ability to Preserve Milk
Bacteriophages are widely recognized as alternatives to traditional antibiotics commonly used in the treatment of bacterial infection diseases and in the food industry, as phages offer a potential solution in combating multidrug-resistant bacterial pathogens. In this study, we describe a novel bacteriophage, Kirovirus kirovense Kirov, which infects members of the Bacillus cereus group. Kirovirus kirovense Kirov is a broad-host-range phage belonging to the Caudoviricetes class. Its chromosome is a linear 165,667 bp double-stranded DNA molecule that contains two short, direct terminal repeats, each 284 bp long. According to bioinformatics predictions, the genomic DNA contains 275 protein-coding genes and 5 tRNA genes. A comparative genomic analysis suggests that Kirovirus kirovense Kirov is a novel species within the Kirovirus genus, belonging to the Andregratiavirinae subfamily. Kirovirus kirovense Kirov demonstrates the ability to preserve and decontaminate B. cereus from cow milk when present in milk at a concentration of 104 PFU/mL. After 4 h of incubation with the phage, the bacterial titer drops from 105 to less than 102 CFU/mL

Archaeological Explorations on the Territory of the City of Kirov in 2020–2024
The article briefly presents the result of archaeological explorations on the territory of the city of Kirov in 2020–2024. The growth in number of archaeological works in the city is shown. The main part of the article is devoted to the review of the study of the cultural layer of Kirov in the 17th — early 20th century by archaeological exploration and excavations. The results of processing data sources (scientific publications and publications in mass media, scientific reports and acts of the state historical and cultural expertise) are analyzed and presented visually (in a table and using a schematic map). With its help, the authors clarify the chronology of the cultural layers of the city, collect a rich collection of objects of material culture, trace the boundaries of the preserved cultural layer and determine the boundaries of the protection of new archaeological sites. The state historical and cultural expertise allows ascertaining a significant amount of data suitable for meaningful identification of special protection zones in the city and detailed characteristics of various aspects of the lifestyle of the urban population of historical time, based on a comprehensive analysis of written and archaeological sources. This kind of work is being actively implemented in the neighboring cities of the Urals and Siberia. The article provides information about all archaeological works on the territory of the Kirov municipality, indicating the presence or absence of a cultural layer, while giving a list of all exploration works on the territory of the city; it also briefly describes excavation works both related to the city layer itself and with sites that belong to pre-urban settlements, but now included in the Kirov city limits

Epidemiologic situation of hiv infection in the kirov, sverdlovsk and perm regions
The article considers a comparative assessment of the incidence rate of HIV infection in the Kirov region, Sverdlovsk region, Perm region over a five years. The analysis of the identification of HIV-infected at different clinical stages in the Kirov region. An increase in the incidence of HIV infection over the past five years in the Kirov region and Perm region, and a decrease in the Sverdlovsk region have been established. A statistically significant incidence rate was determined in the Perm region and Sverdlovsk region for five years from 2014 to 2018. In the Kirov region from 2014 to 2018 there is an increase in the detection of HIV-infected in the fourth stage, mainly by local residents.
Bulgarian Folk Songs in a Digital Library
The paper presents the main results of an ongoing project aimed at the development of technologies for digitization of Bulgarian folk music and building a heterogeneous digital library with Bulgarian folk songs presented with their music, notes and text. An initial digitization and preservation of the Bulgarian cultural heritage starts by means of digitization and insertion into the library of over 1000 songs that were recorded and written down during the 60s and 70s of XX century. Also we present a full text search engine in a collection of lyrics (text of songs) and coded notes (symbolic melody). Some perspectives for future projects are also discussed
