Nemuno kilpų regioninio parko direkcija 2021 m. balandžio–spalio mėnesiais atliko Punios piliakalnio su gyvenviete (UK 22621) (Alytaus r., Punios sen.) tvarkybos darbus. [...]Prior to amelioration work at Punia Hillfort (Alytus District, S Lithuania), a field evaluation (the excavation of a total of 18 m2) was conducted at the earthwork locations and a field survey (using metal detectors and fieldwalking) was carried out in roughly 1428 m2 during the removal of the surface layer. Test pits 1, 2, and 12 yielded a 16th–18th-century cultural layer with contemporary finds: sherds of thrown pottery, while the survey isolated 17th–18th-century archaeological finds: several coins, a copper ring, a military jacket or coat button, etc

Reikšminiai žodžiai: Dokumentai; Evangelikų liuteronų bažnyčia; Istorija; Julius Čėsna; Kalvanas Jonas Viktoras, vyskupas, istorija, dokumentai; Karolis; Liuteronų ir reformatų unija; Tauragė; Tauragės liuteronų bažnyčia; Vyskupas; Vyskupas Jonas Viktoras Kalvanas; Bishop; Bishop Jonas Viktoras Kalvanas; Carl Julius Szczesny; Evangelical Lutheran Church; Historical documents; Kalvanas Jonas Viktoras, bishop, history, documents; Lithuania; Tauragė; Tauragė Lutheran Church; Union of Lutheran and Reformed Churche

2021 m. toliau tirta Pilaitės piliavietė (Vilnius). Jos teritoriją KPC žvalgė 1979 ir 1987 m. (KPC PB, f. 27, ap. 1, b. 82 b. p. 36 ir f. 27, ap. 1, b. 136, p. 102–103), tyrinėjo 1995 (Z. Baubonis) (LIIR, f. 1, b. 2574), 1996 (A. Kuncevičius) (LIIR, f. 1, b. 2728), 2008 m. (A. Zalepūgienė) (ATL 2008 metais, 2009, p. 207–212) (1 pav.). 2021 m. archeologinius tyrimus organizavo KPIP, jie dalinai finansuoti pagal Lietuvos kultūros tarybos projektą „Pilaitės kultūros paveldo sklaida“. [...]In 2021, in order to further define the layout of the former palace building and possibly identify the location of one defensive tower, the investigation of the Pilaitė Hillfort site (Vilnius) was continued with the excavation of 4 trenches (totalling 140 m2) at the N end of the hillfort enclosure and on the hillfort’s NE and NW slopes. The investigation at the NW and NE ends of the palace’s N wall revealed two, roughly 4.3 m long fragments of it. At the NW corner, the S side of a square tower, the S wall of which was 5.5 m long, and the S side of a wall fragment from a counterfort or latrine attached to the outside of the tower’s NW corner were uncovered in Trench 2. At the NE corner, the S part of the 5.5 m diameter round tower (trench 3), the palace’s 10 m long E wall, a counterfort fragment outside the palace’s SE corner, and an 80 cm long fragment of the palace’s S wall (Trench 1) were uncovered. The masonry foundations of the palace’s E defensive wall continue towards the S from the palace’s SE corner. Thus, this investigation has revealed the palace’s size: 30x10 m. On the NW slope, at a distance from the palace, the site of the former chapel was discovered on a corner of a lower terrace and a 7.7 m2 square burial crypt uncovered and excavated. Its S wall had an 80 cm wide entrance. A fragment of a brick arch structure from the crypt’s cylindrical ceiling was unearthed in the S wall. Fragments of the remains of at least 4 individuals of different ages: 3 adults (one a 40–50-year-old male) and an adolescent were discovered in the crypt. The archaeological investigation identified a 0.4–1.6 m thick, 16th–17th-century cultural layer, which mostly consisted of rubble with abundant fragments of structural and household ceramics, metal artefacts, and glass artefacts. The construction of the palace was begun in 1499 by Grigalijus Astikas and it is conjectured that it was demolished in 1655 during the occupation of Vilnius during the Russo-Polish War

2021 m. buvo tęsiami LLDJ statybos darbai. Dujotiekis tiestas ir per Kirsnelės kaimo laukus (Lazdijų r., Šeštokų sen.), kur 2021 m. gegužės–birželio mėnesiais KPIP vykdė detaliuosius tyrimus Kirsnelės neįtvirtintose gyvenvietėse I ir II. Abi Kirsnelės neįtvirtintas gyvenvietes 2021 m. balandžio 6–10 d. vykdant žvalgymus augalinio sluoksnio nuėmimo dujotiekio trasoje metu aptiko KVP. Žvalgant Kirsnelės neįtvirtintoje gyvenvietėje I ištirti du 1x1 m dydžio šurfai, kuriuose aptiktas tamsiai pilkos žemės (kultūrinis) sluoksnis su smulkiais lipdytos keramikos fragmentais. Kirsnelės neįtvirtintoje gyvenvietėje II ištirti 4 šurfai, kuriuose aptiktas tamsiai pilkos žemės (kultūrinis) sluoksnis su lipdytos keramikos fragmentais grublėtu bei lygiu išoriniu paviršiumi. [...]In 2021, excavations were conducted at Kirsnelė Unenclosed Settlements I–II (Lazdijai District, S Lithuania). Trenches 1–3 (200 m2), which were excavated at settlement I, yielded a fragmentally surviving, 10–20 cm thick, dark grey cultural layer containing sherds of hand-built pottery with rough and smooth exterior surfaces. Kirsnelė Unenclosed Settlement I dates to the mid-1st millennium. The 455.75 m2 excavated at Kirsnelė Unenclosed Settlement II yielded a 5–30 cm thick, dark grey cultural layer with abundant sherds of hand-built pottery with rough, smooth, and burnished surfaces as well as isolated flint flakes, pieces of clay daub and iron slag, and animal bones. A rushlight holder or cresset and a flint handstone should be mentioned among the special finds. A wet layer of brown, peaty soil was discovered under the cultural layer in trenches 2–5. Kirsnelė Unenclosed Settlement II dates to the mid –second half of the 1st millennium. The settlement was larger because Objects 39–40, together with contemporary finds, were discovered to the S of the excavated areas

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    Get PDF
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
