Effects of annealing conditions on microstructure and mechanical properties of low carbon, manganese transformation-induced plasticity steel
The effects of annealing conditions on microstructural evolution and mechanical properties have been investigated in low carbon, manganese TRIP (Mn TRIP) steel based on a 0.12C-6Mn-0.5Si-3Al alloy system. The microstructure of cold-rolled sheet subjected to annealing at 760 A degrees C to 800 A degrees C for 30 s to 1800 s consists of a recrystallized ferrite matrix and fine-grained austenite with a phase fraction of 25 % to 35 %. Variation of the annealing conditions remarkably influenced the characteristics of constituent phases and thus affected the tensile strength and elongation. Optimization of microstructural parameters such as grain size and fraction of constituent phases, which control the yield strength, overall work hardening, and the kinetics of strain-induced martensite formation, is thus critical for obtaining an exceptional mechanical balance of the alloy.X114242sciescopuskc

DESCRIPTION OF ARENIBACILLUS GEN. NOV. Arenibacillus gen. nov. (A.re.ni.ba.cil′ lus. L. fem. n. arena sand; L. masc. n. bacillus small rod; N.L. masc. n. Arenibacillus a rod isolated from sandy soil). Cells are aerobic, short rods which do not form spores. Catalase and oxidase are positive. The Gram reaction is negative. An intracytoplasmic membrane system is absent. Anaerobic photoautotrophic and photoheterotrophic growth are not observed. The major fatty acid is C 18: 1 Ɯ 7 c. Phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylcholine and an unidentified aminolipid are predominant polar lipids and Q-10 is the respiratory quinone. Effect of annealing temperature on the electrical transport properties of CaRuO3-delta thin films directly deposited on the Si substrate
We investigate the effect of annealing temperature on the preferentially (110)-oriented CaRuO3-delta, (CRO) thin films directly prepared on Si(100) substrate by rf magnetron sputtering. Crystalline quality and electrical transport properties of the CRO thin films were modified by post-annealing treatment. It was obvious that 700 degrees C post-annealing brought about excellent metallic characteristics with the elevation of carrier concentration and mobility. From this result, we suggested that enhanced (110) orientation, and the ratio of chemical composition Ru4+/Ca2+ ion were responsible for the transport properties of CRO thin film. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Functional dissociations of multiple conflict-driven cognitive control networks
Recent functional neuroimaging studies suggest that multiple conflict-driven cognitive control mechanisms are implemented in the brain depending on the level of processing; the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) and the rostro-dorsal cingulate cortex (rdACC) for response conflict, and the dorsal portion of the premotor cortex (pre-PMd) and the caudal dACC (cdACC) for perceptual conflict (Egner et al, 2007 NeuroImage 35 940-948; Kim et al, in press Human Brain Mapping). A functional dissociation of DLPFC and rdACC has been further suggested for detecting and regulating response conflict, respectively. However, the functional roles of pre-PMd and cdACC remain unclear. In this study, we employed a conflict adjustment paradigm using a modified version of the Stroop task to measure post-conflict effects on those brain regions. Behavioral results demonstrated post-conflict adjustments in both perceptual and response conflict conditions. Imaging data showed a functional dissociation of pre-PMd and cdACC analogous to that of DLPFC and rdACC; cdACC activation was increased in the occurrence of perceptual conflict, but decreased in the subsequent perceptual conflict, whereas pre-PMd was associated with both the current and preceding perceptual conflicts. These findings suggest that cdACC is involved in detecting perceptual conflict, and pre-PMd plays a critical role in regulating perceptual conflict
