    The State’s Role in Globalization: Korea’s Experience from a Comparative Perspective

    By analyzing how Korea has upgraded its industrial capabilities in the course of corporate globalization, this article holds that some versions of developmental state work better in the globalization process. Globalizing national corporations, neoliberal optimism notwithstanding, does not necessarily result in upgrading domestic innovation capabilities. In the United States, free-market firms may benefit through offshoring, but they create holes in the industrial linkages or industrial commons at home, enfeebling US capability for innovation. By contrast, the Korean government successfully upgraded domestic firms’ innovation capabilities and reduced the possibility of deindustrialization in the course of globalization by moving from classical developmentalism to a new form of development based on inclusive and collaborative networks.     The Role of Glial Mitochondria in α-Synuclein Toxicity

    The abnormal accumulation of alpha-synuclein (α-syn) aggregates in neurons and glial cells is widely known to be associated with many neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson’s disease (PD), Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), and Multiple system atrophy (MSA). Mitochondrial dysfunction in neurons and glia is known as a key feature of α-syn toxicity. Studies aimed at understanding α-syn-induced toxicity and its role in neurodegenerative diseases have primarily focused on neurons. However, a growing body of evidence demonstrates that glial cells such as microglia and astrocytes have been implicated in the initial pathogenesis and the progression of α-Synucleinopathy. Glial cells are important for supporting neuronal survival, synaptic functions, and local immunity. Furthermore, recent studies highlight the role of mitochondrial metabolism in the normal function of glial cells. In this work, we review the complex relationship between glial mitochondria and α-syn-mediated neurodegeneration, which may provide novel insights into the roles of glial cells in α-syn-associated neurodegenerative diseases. © Copyright © 2020 Jeon, Kwon, Jo, Lee, Kim and Kim.1

    학위논문(석사)--아주대학교 정보통신대학원 :정보통신/C4I,2009. 6IEEE 802.15.4는 저가의 고정형, 휴대용, 이동식 디바이스들을 위한 아주 단순하고 저렴한 초저전력 무선통신을 목표로 표준화 되었다. 이 표준의 채널 접근의 경우 여러 디바이스의 동시 전송으로 인한 충돌을 피하기 위해 CSMA-CA 프로토콜을 사용한다. CSMA-CA 프로토콜은 RF 채널이 공유된다는 사실에 기초한다. 한 채널 상으로 동시에 둘 이상의 디바이스가 송신하면 메시지 전송의 성공 확률은 충돌과 상호 간섭으로 줄어든다. 채널 상에서 충돌을 피하는 한 방법은 CCA (Clear channel assesment)를 백오프 슬롯 경계에서 실시하고 채널상 신호가 없을 때(idle) 송신한다. 반면 채널 상 신호가 있을 때 랜덤 백오프를 한 후 다시 앞의 과정을 반복한다. 하지만 네트워크 상황이 센서 노드가 광범위한 영역에 배치되고, 다수의 센서 노드들이 채널을 공유하는 상황에서는 IEEE 802.15.4 CSMA-CA 프로토콜은 불필요한 백오프가 반복될 수 있어 성능 뿐 아니라 에너지 효율을 저하시킬 수 있다. 특히 배터리 재충전이 어려운 센서 노드를 위한 MAC 프로토콜은 에너지 소모를 최대한 줄여야 하기 때문에 본 논문에서 경쟁구간을 최대한 효율적으로 활용하기 위한 CSMA-CA Backoff 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 이 알고리즘은 각 노드들의 전송 시도한 순서에 따라 백오프 값에 변동을 주어 Delay한 후 다시 전송 시도함으로써 무의미한 백오프를 줄여 전송 성능과 에너지 효율을 향상시키고자 하였다. 성능 평가는 Qualnet 네트워크 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 IEEE 802.15.4 와 제안한 프로토콜의 성능을 분석하였다. 향후 경쟁 메커니즘의 성능 향상을 위한 다각적인 연구의 수행은 물론 한 계층에만 국한되지 않고 Cross layer를 고려한 연구를 수행할 것이다.제 1장. 서론 1 제 2장. 관련연구 2 제 1절. 무선센서 네트워크 MAC 프로토콜 2 제 1항. 무선센서 네트워크에서의 에너지 효율적인 MAC 프로토콜 기술 2 제 2항. The transmission period of IEEE 802.15.4 consists of contention access period (CAP) and contention free period (CFP). CAP applies carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) for its contention mechanism. In such a network, channel utilization is significantly affected by backoff time. This paper proposes CSMA-CA Backoff algorithm in Consideration of traffic situation. The proposed algorithm performs better than the other schemes according to the obtained results
