Mathematics, Logic, and their Philosophies:Essays in Honour of Mohammad Ardeshir
This volume is a collection of essays in honour of Professor Mohammad Ardeshir. It examines topics which, in one way or another, are connected to the various aspects of his multidisciplinary research interests. Based on this criterion, the book is divided into three general categories. The first category includes papers on non-classical logics, including intuitionistic logic, constructive logic, basic logic, and substructural logic. The second category is made up of papers discussing issues in the contemporary philosophy of mathematics and logic. The third category contains papers on Avicenna’s logic and philosophy.Mohammad Ardeshir is a full professor of mathematical logic at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, where he has taught generations of students for around a quarter century. Mohammad Ardeshir is known in the first place for his prominent works in basic logic and constructive mathematics. 'Fatherless' of Mohammad Mosavat: The cultural event of the Iranian spring
The following is a psychoanalytic commentary about a play recently performed in Tehran (Iran) followed by an interview with its author, Mohammad Mosavat. Adsorben Logam Berat dari Kopolimerisasi Cangkok Biner Asam Akrilat dan Akrilamida pada Onggok
To improve properties of superabsorbent polymer (PSA) synthesized from onggok (cassava residual pulp), we have grafted binary monomer mixture of acrylic acid and acrylamide onto onggok in aqueous medium using APS as initiator. Some factors of the synthesis studied were loading sequence of monomer, addition of cross-linker, and absorption capacity. Testing was also performed by infrared spectroscopy. The PSA A1, which is created by grafting of acrylic acid and acrylamide without cross-linker, showed the highest water absorption of 370 g/g. The PSA A1 effectively absorbed water at pH 9 and the absorption capabilities were affected by levels of salinity of the medium. The PSA also potential as Cu2+ metal ion adsorbent
Sintesis N-Stearoiletanolamida dan Uji Kinerjanya sebagai Inhibitor Korosi dengan Teknik Polarisasi Potensiodinamik
N-Stearoiletanolamida merupakan senyawa yang dapat berfungsi sebagai
surfaktan, deterjen, kosmetik, antiinflamasi pada bidang medis, serta digunakan
dalam bahan industri. Fungsi yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah sebagai
antikorosi yang diukur menggunakan teknik polarisasi potensiodinamik. NStearoiletanolamida
disintesis dari etilstearat dengan monoetanolamina (MEA).
N-stearoiletanolamida dibuat menggunkan dua macam katalis, yaitu NaOMe dan
NaOEt. Pengukuran antikorosi menggunakan teknik polarisasi potensiodinamik
dilakukan dengan tiga macam variasi konsentrasi, yaitu 50 ppm, 100 ppm, dan
200 ppm. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa N-Stearoiletanolamida dengan
katalis NaOMe memiliki efektivitas inhibisi korosi paling besar dibandingkan
dengan N-Stearoiletanolamida dengan katalis NaOEt. Efektivitas inhibisi NStearoiletanolamida
dengan katalis NaOMe pada logam Fe mencapai 82% pada
konsentrasi larutan inhibitor 200 ppm, sedangkan pada katalis NaOEt hanya
mencapai 77% dengan konsentrasi yang sama
Sintesis dan Pencirian Ester dari Asam Oleat dan Poliol Berbasis- Onggok
Onggok is a solid waste from tapioca industry that contains cellulose. Polyhydroxyl compounds (polyol) can be produced through liquefaction of cellulose. Cellulose liquefaction was carried out in ethylene glycol medium catalyzed by sulfuric acid, at 150 °C over 4 h, with 98.72% of yield. The polyol was esterified with oleic acid and sulfuric acid as catalyst to synthesize a nonionic surfactant. Esterification was carried out at 140 °C in 4 h, with oleic acid-polyol ratios of 1:2, 1:1, and 2:1. The free fatty acid contents and acid values of the esterification products were 23.07, 43.05, 60.97% and 32.67, 60.97, 86.34 mg KOH/g, respectively. Infrared spectrum of the ester products showed a C=O stretching band in wavenumber region of 1750–1715 cm-1, which was not present in polyol, but in oleic acid (1720–1680 cm-1). Intensity of O-H stretching band in ester products was weaker than in polyol spectrum (around 3400 cm-1) and C-H stretching band of the ester products in 2950–2800 cm-1 was originated from oleic acid
Sintesis N-palmitoiletanolamida dan Uji Kinerjanya sebagai Inhibitor Korosi dengan Teknik Polarisasi Potensiodinamik
N-palmitoiletanolamida adalah senyawa yang dapat berfungsi sebagai zat
aditif pelumas, surfaktan, kosmetik, dan bahan industri lainnya. Tujuan penelitian
ini adalah mengkaji fungsi N-palmitoiletanolamida sebagai inhibitor korosi
menggunakan teknik polarisasi potensiodinamik. N-palmitoiletanolamida disintesis
menggunakan etil palmitat dan monoetanolamina (MEA) dengan katalis NaOMe
dan NaOEt. Pengukuran inhibitor korosi dilakukan dengan variasi konsentrasi,
yaitu 45 ppm, 90 ppm, dan 180 ppm untuk produk terkatalisis NaOMe, dan 48.5
ppm, 97 ppm, dan 194 ppm untuk produk terkatalisis NaOEt. Rendemen Npalmitoiletanolmida
menggunakan katalis NaOMe dan NaOEt berturut-turut
sebesar 85.67% dan 73.15%. N-palmitoiletanolamida dengan katalis NaOMe dan
NaOEt memiliki efektivitas inhibisi yang sama, yaitu sebesar 61% pada konsentrasi
N-palmitoiletanolamida tertinggi. N-palmitoiletanolamida telah terbukti dapat
berfungsi sebagai inhibitor korosi dengan menurunkan arus dan laju korosi pada
logam Fe
