Cette courte introduction tente d’attirer l’attention sur un des récents développements de la pensée économique à l’interface entre économie et politique et dont les articles des deux jeunes auteurs présentés dans ce volume sont représentatifs des nouvelles approches et questions sur la transition en Russie et dans les PECO. Elle insiste sur les résultats contrastés que révèlent ces analyses entre la Russie et les PECO, sur l’importance des institutions dans le processus de transition et sur celle de la monnaie en particulier, conçue elle aussi comme une institution.Françoise Renversez. Biochemical Characteristics and Elemental Composition Peculiarities of Rheum tataricum L. in Semi-Desert Conditions and of European Garden Rhubarb.
Biochemical and mineral peculiarities of plants inhabiting desert and semi-desert ar eas may provide important information about the mechanism of their adaptability and reveal the
prospects of their utilization. Rheum tataricum L., known for its high tolerance to drought, salin ity, and nutritional deficiency, is the least studied species of wild rhubarb. Using biochemical
and ICP-MS analysis, the antioxidant status and mineral composition of R. tataricum were deter mined. Extremely high levels of antioxidant activity (148–155 mg GAE g−1 d.w.), polyphenols
(24.6–25.1 mg GAE g−1 d.w.) and carotenoids (1.94 mg-eq β-carotene g−1 d.w.) were revealed in
roots, proline in leaves (71.1 ± 6.2 mg kg−1 d.w.) and malic acid in stems (3.40 ± 0.50 mg g−1 d.w.).
Compared to garden rhubarb, R. tataricum demonstrated significant root–leaves translocation of Li,
Se, Si, and Mo, known to participate in plant antioxidant defense. Under high levels of Ca, Na, Mg,
Fe, Cr and Si in soil, R. tataricum demonstrated the ability to significantly increase the accumulation
of these elements in roots, showing a hyperaccumulation ability for Sr. The first broad picture of
R. tataricum biochemical and mineral characteristics in semi-desert habitat and its nutritional value
indicate the prospects of R. tataricum utilization in plant breeding, medicine, and nutrition
Načrtovanje in prototip digitalnega dvojčka izobraževalni stavbe
The thesis researches the planning and prototyping of a digital twin (DT) to improve energy efficiency and user comfort in an educational building. The chosen approach combines quantitative and qualitative methods and technical solutions of DT, which can also be used for educational purposes, with the aim of advancing BIM and DT technologies for the future. The thesis provides a comprehensive literature review, the goals and objectives for the use of DT, supporting scenarios of use and applications of DT and investigation of indoor characteristics that can be measured by IoT (Internet of Things) sensors, which are available on the market and feasible for the selected project. In the DT planning phase, a sensor placement strategy was developed. It was based on historical data, collected data on energy consumption and occupancy patterns of spaces, and a survey using Dalux Environment to capture 360° photographs of the case study building. Following this, an economic evaluation of the proposed technical solutions was conducted. These steps led to the creation of a DT prototype adopted to the selected scenario, using Autodesk Tandem. In addition, the thesis outlines a systematic approach to the use of BIM and as-built modelling, which plays a crucial role in the development and implementation of building DTs. This work is potentially interesting because of the in-depth research on DT and the process of implementing DT with BIM. The results can be used for research and educational purposes and enable the inspection of the building, its operation and also the improvement of well-being.Delo raziskuje načrtovanje in izdelavo prototipov digitalnega dvojčka (DT) za izboljšanje energetske učinkovitosti in udobja uporabnikov v izobraževalni stavbi. Izbrani pristop združuje kvantitativne in kvalitativne metode in tehnične rešitve DT, ki se lahko uporabijo tudi v izobraževalne namene, s čimer bi želeli približati uporabo BIM in tehnologij digitalnih dvojčkov naslednjim generacijam. V nalogi je najprej podan podroben pregled literature opredeljeni so cilji za rabo DT, podporni scenariji uporabe in aplikacij DT ter možnosti uporabe meritev s senzorji IoT (angl. Internet of Things), ki so na voljo na trgu in izvedljivi za izbrani projekt. Pri praktični implementaciji prototipa, je prikazano, kako se na podlagi zgodovinskih podatkov, zbranih podatkov o rabi energije in udobju uporabnika, lahko izdela načrt postavitve senzorjev, ki mu sledi ekonomska ocena predlagano tehničnih rešitev. Končni rezutlat teh korakov je prototip DT za izbrane scenarije. V fazi načrtovanja DT je bila izdelana strategija postavitve senzorjev z uporabo Dalux in fotografij 360°. Nato je bila izvedena ekonomska ocena predlaganih tehničnih rešitev ter prototip DT z uporabo Autodesk Tandem.V okviru naloge je bil izdelan tudi pristop za uporabo BIM in posnetek obstoječe stanja, ki je ključen pri izdelavi in implementaciji DT stavb. To delo je potencialno zanimivo zaradi poglobljene raziskave DT in postopka implementacije DT z BIM. Rezultati se lahko uporabijo v raziskovalne in izobraževalne name ter omogočajo pregled stavbe, njenega delovanja in tudi izboljšanje kakovosti bivanja
New method for simultaneous species-specific identification of equine strongyles (Nematoda, Strongylida) by Reverse Line Blot hybridization
The ability of a reverse line blot (RLB) assay to identify 13 common species of equine small strongyles (cyathostomins) and to discriminate them from three Strongylus spp. (large strongyles) was demonstrated. The assay relied on the specific hybridization of PCR-amplified intergenic spacer DNA fragments of the nuclear ribosomal DNA to membrane-bound species-specific probes. All cyathostomins examined were unequivocally identified and simultaneously discriminated from each other and from three large strongyles (Strongylus edentatus, Strongylus equinus, and Strongylus vulgaris). This assay will enable the accurate and rapid identification of equine cyathostomins irrespective of their life cycle stage, opening important avenues for a better understanding of their biology and epidemiology and of the pathogenesis of cyathostomin-associated disease. In particular, this RLB method promises to be a powerful diagnostic tool to determine the roles of individual species in the pathogenesis of mixed infections and to elucidate some aspects of cyathostominosis. Also, it could represent a basic step toward the development of a rapid and simple molecular test for the early detection of drug-resistant genotypes of horse strongyle species.[...
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Effect of Selenium and Garlic Extract Treatments of Seed-Addressed Lettuce Plants on Biofortification Level, Seed Productivity and Mature Plant Yield and Quality
The enhancement of the plant seed yield and quality represents the basis of the successful
productivity of the deriving crop. The effect of single and combined foliar treatments of lettuce
plants with sodium selenate and garlic bulb extract on seed yield and quality and on mature plant
biochemical characteristics was investigated using four lettuce cultivars (Bouquet, Picnic, Moskovsky
parnikovy and Cavalier). The seed production of plants treated with Se increased by 20–41%,
compared to the untreated control plants, while the augmentation was as much as 10–23% and
17–27% under garlic extract and the joint application of Se and garlic, respectively. Garlic extract
stimulated the accumulation of Se in lettuce seeds, which rose by 1.21–1.29 times compared to the
Se-treated plants. The proline levels in lettuce seeds exceeded the corresponding values recorded in
the control ones by 1.32–1.64 times in the case of the Se supply, 1.10–1.47 times upon garlic extract
application and 1.09–1.31 times under the combined Se/garlic treatment. All the treatments given to
lettuce plants increased the leaf weight by 1.10–1.30 times, compared to the untreated control. The
seed Se levels positively correlated with the leaf weight (r = 0.621; p < 0.005), chlorophyll (r = 0.672,
p < 0.002) and total antioxidant activity (AOA; r = 0.730, p < 0.001) of plants grown from these seeds.
Positive correlations were also recorded between the seed proline content and lettuce plant leaf
weight, chlorophyll and AOA (r = 0.868, 0.811 and 0.815, respectively, at p < 0.001). Lettuce yield was
positively correlated with the leaf AOA, chlorophyll and ascorbic acid content (r = 0.942, 0.921 and
0.665, respectively, at p < 0.001). The results indicate high prospects of Na2SeO4 and garlic extract
application to seed-addressed lettuce plants, to improve seed productivity and quality, as well as
lettuce yield and quality

Characterization of the structural response of a lithiated SiO<sub>2</sub> / Si interface: A reactive molecular dynamics study
We report the results of a computational study regarding the mechanical properties of a lithiated Si/SiO2 interface using reactive molecular dynamics. The study is motivated by an intended application of SiO2-coated Sinanotubes as fibers in structural batteries with a fiber-reinforced composite architecture while serving as anodes. According to the results, main failure properties due to partly irreversible bond breakage during mechanical deformation are identified, indicating agreement with bond energy/bond order based estimates. Microscopic failure properties are also identified and interpreted in view of the observed processes of bonding degradation. In particular, the effect of Li distribution on the shear deformation response is evaluated as significant.Applied Mechanic
