Focused and General science parks: a study of New Technology Based Firms within Life-sciences in Sweden
New Technology-Based Firms (NTBFs) contribute greatly to the development and construction of their nations‟ economies. Therefore their creation, survival and growth have become a major focus for policy. Science parks as actors within regional innovation systems can be suitable tools to carry out this objective. This paper investigated whether the type of science park has any effect on performance of NTBFs. To this end science parks were categorized as focused –hosting firms from a single industry- and general –more than one industry. A comparative study based on second hand data collection was performed on Swedish science parks working within Life-sciences. The results revealed that focused science parks are better stimulants of employment creation and that their residents enjoy higher rates of sales growth. The author recommends that further categorization of science parks leads to better recognition and utilization of their potential

A framework for measuring the supply chain's agility of mass construction industry in Iran
Impotent planning system in house providing process is the result of inadequate housing management system in theoretical, empirical, and operational fields. In addition, Mass Construction industry in Iran confronts with other problems such as instability in raw material prices, unsteadiness in production and investment laws and regulations, frailty of transportation infrastructure, international sanctions and etc. Furthermore, customers’ needs, lower costs, and greater customizations lead mass producing to search for new solutions and novel producing system. Agility is offered as a strategy to enable Mass Construction associations to be maintained in the competition of constantly changing market in Iran. In such a market, previous approaches lose their capabilities in supply chain. Thus to achieve agility by Mass Construction association is the chief aim of this study. This study is descriptive-analytic and can be identified as developmental –functional considering its target. After surveying previous research literature and using experts’ opinions, we investigated final agile sub criteria of supply chain and then we used interpretive- structural modeling approach to determine the relation among sub criteria and to offer an agile supply chain model. Surveying research literature and experts’ opinions lead us to identify 8 criteria (society, government, financial, information technology, market, partnership, quality and technology) and also 22 sub criteria for supply chain’s agility. Then the results were analyzed through interpretive-structural approach and relation of criteria and sub criteria and their consequence were achieved. These relations showed that government and infrastructure investment, culture, regulations and responses to social and environmental issues are the basis of agility in mass housing productions’ supply chain. This model helps supply chain managers to have strategic planning to enhance agility in supply chain and find effective sub criteria and criteria to invest on
“Paramedics are only a driver,” the lived experience of Iranian paramedics from patient handover : a qualitative study
Background: Patient handover in the emergency department (ED) is a 2-way communication process between the paramedics and in-hospital emergency personnel, which can result in miscommunication and delivery challenges. This study aimed to explore the lived experience of paramedics on patient handover to the ED. Methods: Over a period of 5 months, an interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) was used to explore the lived experiences of 15 paramedics in Tabriz, Iran. Semi-structured interviews were conducted in the emergency medical stations using the Smith approach for data collection and analysis. The researcher used 4 criteria to ensure rigor, including credibility, dependability, confirmability, and transferability, according to Lincoln and Guba. Results: Three main themes emerged from the data analysis, including “the hole of hope,” “the boring issues,” and “paramedics are only a driver.” A further 11 sub-themes emerged under the main themes. Conclusion: The highlighted issues that need to be considered during the process are the presence of staff in front of the ED's door to welcome the patient, removal of structural defects and defective hospital equipment, the presence of medical supplies in emergency triage to prevent the paramedics from stumbling, and listening to paramedics by physicians and nurses to obtain the patients’ history. © The author(s)
Integrative taxonomic review of the genus Synopsia Hübner, 1825 in the Middle East (Lepidoptera: Geometridae: Ennominae)
The geometrid genera Synopsia Hubner, 1825 and Synopsidia Djakonov, 1935 are revised, both being earlier validated at genus rank. Type specimens, original descriptions and additional specimens from different localities were examined. The revision is based on morphological characters, molecular data and distribution records. As a result, Synopsidia syn. nov. is regarded as junior synonym of the genus Synopsia. The synonymies of the species Scodonia tekkearia Christoph, 1883 and Synopsia znojkoi Djakonov, 1935 with Synopsia phasidaria phasidaria (Rogenhofer, 1873) comb. nov. are confirmed. Furthermore, Synopsidia phasidaria alvandi Wiltshire, 1966 syn. nov., Synopsidia phasidaria ardschira Brandt, 1938 syn. nov., Synopsidia phasidaria chiraza Brandt, 1938 syn. nov., Hashtaresia jodes Wehrli, 1936 syn. nov. and Synopsidia phasidaria mirabica Wehrli, 1941 syn. nov. are regarded as synonyms of Synopsia phasidaria phasidaria (Rogenhofer, 1873) comb. nov.. Synopsia phasidaria afghana (Wiltshire, 1966) comb. nov. is tentatively validated at subspecific rank. Synopsia centralis (Wiltshire, 1966) comb. nov., bona sp. is upgraded from subspecies to species level. Wing pattern, as well as male and female genitalia and diagnostic characters of examined genera and species are illustrated and analyzed. The distribution patterns of Synopsia phasidaria comb. nov. and Synopsia centralis bona sp., as well as the type localities of all discussed taxa, are provided. A complete checklist of the genus is given.Peer reviewe
Evaluating the Current Status of Education in Family Physicians in Iranian Medical Schools
Introduction: Family physicians in Iran suffer from lack of relevant knowledge, competencies, and skills. Improving the training program requires examining the currently provided education in the field of Family Physician. This study aimed to evaluate the current status of Family Physician’s Education and training in Iranian medical schools.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted using mixed methods combining the elements of quantitative and qualitative research. Data was collected using both close-ended and open-ended author-made questionnaires. Participants in the study were all vice chancellors or heads of social and family departments of public and private Medical Sciences Universities and International Campuses in the country.
Results: While studying general medicine, the conditions for students’ participation in the field of family medicine in most Medical Universities is not available, so that a maximum of 37% of medical universities in the internship course and at least 12% of universities in the clinical preparation course, have provided the opportunity for students to attend in this area. The lowest number of days dedicated to this program was during the basic sciences course, while the internship course dedicated the highest number of days. Also, qualitative results showed that challenges of the Family Physician’s training program are related to clinical education groups, comprehensive health centers, infrastructure, students, and Family Physician’s education curriculum. It is necessary to reform rules and regulations, structures, education, and motivation to overcome current challenges.
Conclusion: The results indicate that the education and training of family physicians in Iran face many challenges, and any planning to expand the current program without careful consideration and overcoming the challenges related to clinical education groups, comprehensive health centers, infrastructure, students, and curriculum, may lead to failure
