    Genus Awhiowhio Kelly, 2007 Type species. Awhiowhio osheai Kelly, 2007. Definition. Massive cup- or plate-shaped Corallistidae. Choanosomal megascleres are smooth nodulose dicranoclones with spires of smooth nodules, forming very robust intricate zygoses with ‘trabeculae’ through the entire mass. Ectosomal spicules are smooth dichotriaenes. Choanosomal microscleres are small fine-rayed streptaster/ spirasters. R / V ‘ Astro Garoupa’, 23 May 2011.</p> <p> <b>Etymology.</b> The specific name honors Alan Dias and Ulisses Pinheiro’s fathers: Jorge Ricardo de Oliveira Cavalcanti and Jorge Mauricio Pinheiro.</p> <p> <b>Diagnosis.</b> <i>Neophrissospongia</i> with skeleton composed of dicranoclone desmas with mushroom-shaped tubercles, dichotriaenes with tuberculated cladomes, acanthose microstrongyles and acanthose microstyles.</p> <p> <b>Description (Fig. 1a–b).</b> The specimen presents an ear-shaped form and hard consistency with an irregular and rough surface covered with visible aquiferous canals, mostly in the upper region. The color is unknown in life, brownish purple in ethanol and the measures are: 16 cm (length), 13 cm (width) and 2 cm (thick). Additionally, the specimen presents a small number of clustered debris in the basal region.</p> <p> <b> <i>Skeleton</i> (Fig. 1c).</b> Ectosomal skeleton formed by a dense layer of microstrongyles and microstyles, occasionally pierced by choanosomal dichotriaenes. Choanosome formed by dichotriaenes, with some microscleres scattered throughout it, and tuberculated dicranoclones forming a net-like structure.</p> <p> <b> <i>Spicules</i> (Fig. 2a–i).</b> Dicranoclone desma (Fig. 2a): Articulated with mushroom-shaped tubercles (Total length of the arch: 250– <b>381.25</b> –537.5 / 20– <b>34.2</b> –50 µm); Dichotriaene (Fig. 2 b-c): Straight, smooth rhabdome with strongly tuberculated cladome (Rhabdome: 1000– <b>1449.63</b> –2166.5 / 16.5– <b>41</b> –66.5; Cladome: 225 <b>–273.16–</b> 337.5 µm); Microstrongyle (Fig. 2 d-f): Acanthose with light or accentuated curvature (38.6 <b>–47.55–</b> 57.96 / 2.6 <b>–3.13–</b> 3.2 µm); Microstyle (Fig. 2 g-i): Acanthose, long, thin, straight or slightly curved (98 <b>–126.07</b> –157.8 / 0.6 <b>–2.06–</b> 3.2 µm).</p> <p> <b>Remarks.</b> An interesting feature of the new species is the lack of streptasters/amphiasters, both common microscleres in <i>Neophrissospongia</i> species that despite extensive and multiple spicule preparations still could not found. Morphologically, this feature can demonstrate a close relation between <i>Neophrissospongia</i> and <i>Levispongia</i>, going according to the results shown in Schuster <i>et al</i>. (2021). This absence of streptasters/amphiasters also could be a diagnostic character to allocate the new species with <i>Levispongia</i>, despite the habit and spicule complement of <i>Neophrissospongia jorgeorum</i> <b>sp. nov.</b> being more similar to <i>Neophrissospongia</i>, especially its dicranoclones desmas and dichotriaenes. Thus, this is the first record of the Genus <i>Neophrissospongia</i> from Brazil, as well as for the South Atlantic. Until now, seven species of <i>Neophrissospongia</i> have been recorded worldwide: <i>Neophrissospongia microstylifera</i> (Lévi & Lévi, 1983), from New Caledonia; <i>N. radjae</i> Pisera & Vacelet, 2011, from Island of Korkula, Croatia; <i>N. nolitangere</i> (Schmidt, 1870), from Azores, Cape Verde Islands; <i>N. endoumensis</i> Pisera & Vacelet, 2011, from Marseille, France; <i>N. tubulata</i> (van Soest & Stentoft, 1988), from Paynes Bay, Barbados; <i>N. nana</i> Manconi & Serusi, 2008, from Sardenha, Italy and <i>N. galapagoensis</i> Schuster <i>et al.</i> 2018, from Tortuga Island, Haiti. Among these species, <i>N. tubulata</i>, <i>N. nana</i> and <i>N. galapagoensis</i> does not have microstyles in the spicule complement, diverging from the new species. <i>Neophrissospongia radjae</i>, <i>N. nolitangere</i> and <i>N. endoumensis</i> differ from the new species in lacking acanthose microstrongyles. <i>Neophrissospongia microstylifera</i> from New Caledonia, is the most similar species to <i>Neophrissospongia jorgeorum</i> <b>sp. nov.</b> for the absence of streptasters/amphiasters and the presence of microstyles and microstrongyles. However, <i>N. microstylifera</i> has subtylostyles, which are not found in the new species.     <i>Awhiowhio saci</i> sp. nov. <p>https://www.zoobank.org/NomenclaturalActs/a3e9224f-3127-4f7e-913f-8befd8bae45d</p> <p>(Figs. 3 and 4; Table 2)</p> <p> <b>Type Material.</b> Holotype: UFPEPOR 2438, imprecise location in North of Brazil (between Maranh „o and Amapá States), collected with a trawl, by REVIZEE-N IV, 2001.</p> <p> <b>Etymology.</b> The specific name refers to the Brazilian folklore character, Saci, which is associated with whirlwinds. Thus, establishing a “New Zealand-Brazil” relationship through the name of the genus that comes from Te reo Mâori “ Âwhiowhio ”, which means whirlwind.</p> <p> <b>Diagnosis.</b> Cup-shaped <i>Awhiowhio</i> with dicranoclone desmas, smooth dichotriaenes, microrhabds with spined rays, microspined microxeas and microspined streptasters/amphiasters.</p> <p> <b>Description (Fig. 3a–b).</b> The specimen presents a cup-shaped form and hard consistency with a strongly hispid surface with numerous tufts of dicranoclone desmas in the inner concave part of the cup. The color is unknown in life, beige in ethanol and the measures are: 7 cm (length), 9-19.5 cm (width) and 1 cm (thick). Additionally, the specimen presents a small number of clustered debris in the basal region.</p> <p> <b> <i>Skeleton</i> (Fig. 3c).</b> Ectosomal skeleton formed by a dense layer of microscleres, pierced by choanossomal dichotriaenes. Choanosome formed by dichotriaenes, with some microscleres scattered throughout it, in association with tuberculated dicranoclones forming a net-like structure, occasionally interleaved by subcortical cavities.</p> <p> <b> <i>Spicules</i> (Fig. 4a–h).</b> Dicranoclone Desmas (Fig. 4a): Articulated with smooth nodules (Overall size of the arch: 500– <b>700</b> –900 / 33.3– <b>108.3</b> –166.65 µm); Dichotriaene (Fig. 4 b-d): Smooth rhabdome with conical and smooth cladome (Rhabdome: 133.3– <b>1017</b> –1900 / 33.3– <b>44.66</b> –66.6; Cladome: 275– <b>382.1</b> –562.5 µm); Microrhabds (Fig. 4e): Curved with numerous robust spined rays (13 <b>–16.3–</b> 22.5 µm); Microxea (Fig. 4 f-g): Acanthose and slightly curved (100 <b>–120–</b> 190 / 1.5 <b>–3.13–</b> 6.5 µm); Streptaster/Amphiaster (Fig. 4h): Slightly curved shaft with 12 <b>–</b> 15 highly spined rays (10 <b>–17.5–</b> 22.5 µm).</p> <p> <b>Remarks.</b> The specimen was assigned to <i>Awhiowhio</i> because of the smooth nodulose dicranoclones, smooth dichotriaenes, fine-rayed streptaster/amphiasters, irregular spirasters and the lack of diactines. This is the first record of the Genus <i>Awhiowhio</i> from the Atlantic Ocean, to date three species of <i>Awhiowhio</i> have been recorded worldwide: <i>Awhiowhio osheai</i> Kelly, 2007 and <i>Awhiowhio sepulchrum</i> Kelly, 2007 from New Zealand; and <i>Awhiowhio unda</i> Kelly, 2007 from the Fiji Basin. As expected for lithistid species, all three species are very similar to the new one in the spicule complement. However, there are some morphological differences: The overall size of dicranoclone arches and thickness (500–900 / 33.3– <b>108.3</b> –166.65) differs from all its congeners, with shorter and thinner arches in <i>Awhiowhio osheai</i> (200–500 / 50–60) or <i>Awhiowhio unda</i> (200–300 / 20–50) and longer and slightly thinner arches in <i>Awhiowhio sepulchrum</i> (900–1200 / 70–150); <i>Awhiowhio osheai</i> presents smaller dichotriaenes, bigger streptasters, presence of micropolyrhabd and regular rod-shaped microrhabds, while in the new species the microrhabds are spiraster-shaped; <i>Awhiowhio sepulchrum</i> apparently does not present microscleres, although this is most likely be due to the macerated state of the holotype; <i>Awhiowhio unda</i> presents a very similar spicule complement when compared to the new species, including the presence of spiraster-shaped microrhabds. Nevertheless, <i>Awhiowhio unda</i> lacks the microxea found in the new species and presents bigger streptasters than <i>Awhiowhio saci</i> <b>sp. nov.</b> (Table 2). The presence of acanthose microxea in <i>Awhiowhio saci</i> <b>sp. nov.</b> is unusual for an <i>Awhiowhio</i> specimen but it can be related to a common problem in lithistid studies that is the lack of SEM images, it is possible that this spicule can be present in the genus but due to its size it has not been found only with optical microscopes.     In the sequence of the dissertation, Jorge Pinheiro: The Referential (2010) [Master’s degree in Painting] in FBAUL, aiming at the figurative work of the author in the last decade of the 20th century and the first decade of the 21st century, the current project of research emerges, deepening the knowledge about the representation and figuration of the pictorial work produced during this period of time. The figurative painting of Jorge Pinheiro, produced over 1990-2010, resorting to models of the Model, is the representation of images culturally produced in images obscurely dreamt in the game Composition and Representation. Jorge Pinheiro states that he first starts from the titles he searches for in Literature. Provocative, the title intertwined with the representation reaches the observer. The recognition of the appropriated figurative fragments is the key to decoding his painting. The initial spectator is the one the author looks for. The myths and symbolic values are represented in the Painting. They are representations of representations on behalf of the shapes of power in Composition and Representation. The Symbol-Figures of Representation taken from Painting, Photography, Cinema, and Photojournalism are sublimated icons, corrupted or ruined in the artwork of Jorge Pinheiro. The artwork questions its legitimacy and simultaneously reiterates it, reflects the concept of originality in the work’s identity, identifies the first authors, and makes us think of the authorship of the second authors, highlighting the position of the artist in relation to society and to his own craft with historical background. The cultural image prevails in the game of representation and aesthetic discourse because the object of imitation is not an object but an idea. Reinventing the Memory recall legacy, the painting of Jorge Pinheiro is a permeable territory where Painting evokes Painting, Art, and Western Humanistic Values, allowing a whole generation to identify itself in the artwork and question our way of being in the worl

    The quotas policy in Brazil was implemented in order to reduce the inequalities in the access to the Higher Education. The present work was based on the discussion regarding racial quotas in the access, permanence and progress of the students of the Government School, an integrating part of the João Pinheiro Foundation. Taking into account the current discussions regarding quotas policy, it is possible to perceive the need to ampliate the policies of permanence and monitoring of the quotists throughout the undergraduate course. The objective of this work is to critically understand whether there is a welcoming and supporting policy for the quotist students in the Government School of the João Pinheiro Foundation. After interview and document analysis, the results indicate the necessity of a greater support and encouragement for the quotist students, once inequality remains despite the higher education access policy. The implementation of policies that support permanence does not necessarily involve financial resources, but depends on monitoring the students throughout the course.A política de cotas no Brasil foi implementada com o intuito de reduzir as desigualdades no acesso ao Ensino Superior. O presente trabalho se baseou na discussão em relação às cotas raciais no acesso, permanência e progresso dos alunos da Escola de Governo, parte integrante da Fundação João Pinheiro. Considerando-se as discussões atuais em relação à política de cotas, pode-se perceber a necessidade de ampliação de políticas de permanência e acompanhamento dos cotistas durante todo o curso de graduação. O objetivo do trabalho é compreender de forma crítica se há uma política de acolhimento e apoio da Escola de Governo da Fundação João Pinheiro aos estudantes cotistas. Após entrevista e análise de documentos, os resultados apontam para a necessidade de maior apoio e incentivo aos alunos cotistas, uma vez que a desigualdade ainda permanece mesmo com a política de acesso ao ensino superior. A implementação de políticas de apoio à permanência, nem sempre envolvem recursos financeiros, mas dependem de um acompanhamento aos alunos durante todo o curso

O projeto tem por base um estudo de caso, com o intuito de melhorar o seu desempenho organizacional. O Sistema de Gestão da Qualidade projetado é apoiado pela versão portuguesa da Norma Europeia ISO 9001:2015. O presente estudo foi sustentado por reuniões com a gestão de topo da Pinheiro&Cardoso, Lda., entrevista com os colaboradores, formação de sensibilização com toda a organização e observações do autor, permitindo o desenvolvimento de uma proposta para futura implementação de um Sistema de Gestão da Qualidade na empresa. A metodologia utilizada neste trabalho é o estudo de caso de natureza qualitativa. Primeiramente, foi feita uma análise das práticas da organização face aos requisitos do referencial normativo, consentindo num conhecimento para desenvolver as ações necessárias à implementação do Sistema de Gestão da Qualidade. Foi estudado o processo do trabalho desenvolvido pela organização desde a consulta dos clientes ao fornecimento de produtos e serviços, sendo parte fundamental a abordagem por processos recomendado pelo referencial normativo. O resultado permitiu adequar os processos existentes, analisar o contexto organizacional e desenvolver a estratégia de implementação do Sistema de Gestão da Qualidade de acordo com a norma NP EN ISO 9001:2015, sempre com o foco central na satisfação dos clientes e outras partes interessadas. A organização Pinheiro&Cardoso, Lda., com a proposta de implementação do presente projeto, assumiu uma nova postura face ao pensamento sobre a Qualidade e sua importância. A perceção do funcionamento e a clarificação do seu sistema documental também foram adquiridos pela empresa, que se comprometeu a corrigir situações, procurando a melhoria das ligações com todas as partes interessadas.The project presented consists on the implementation of a quality management system at the Pinheiro&Cardoso, Lda., of the building construction sector, specifically “Carpintaria de Limpos”. This project is based on a case study with the aim of improving its organizational performance. The designed Quality Management System is supported by the Portuguese version of the European Standard ISO 900:2015. The actual study was supported by meetings with Pinheiro&Cardoso, Lda. leadership, by the interviews to the employees and by the awareness formation with the whole organization and author observations, allowing the development of a proposal to a Management System of Quality future implementation in the company. The methodology used for this work was the study of a case with a qualitative nature. Firstly, the organization's practices in relation to the requirements of the normative framework were analysed, allowing knowledge to develop the actions necessary for the implementation of the Quality Management System. The work process developed by the organization was studied from the customers to the products and services suppliers, being a fundamental part in the approach by processes recommended by the referential normative. The result allowed the adequacy of the existing processes, not only to analyse the organizational context but also to develop the strategy of implementation of the Quality Management System (NP EN ISO 9001: 2015), always with the central focus on the customers’ satisfaction and other involved parts. The Pinheiro&Cardoso, Lda. organization, with the proposed implementation of this project, assumed a new posture regarding the thought about Quality and its importance. The perception of the functioning and the clarification of its documental system were also acquired by the company, which undertook to correct situations, seeking the improvement of the connections with all the interested parts

    Aaptos hajdui sp. nov. (Figure 2, 3 A–B; Table 1) Type material. Holotype: UFPEPOR 62 —Campaign BPOT 0 2, station 0 4 (Potiguar Basin, Rio Grande do Norte State, 04° 37 ’ 31.7 ”S – 36 ° 46 ’ 0.7 ”W), 70–101 m depth, coll. R/V ‘Astro Garoupa’, 14 /V/ 2003. Schyzoholotype: MNRJ 16684. Paratypes: UFPEPOR 181 —Campaign BPOT 0 3, station A 3 (Potiguar Basin, Rio Grande do Norte State, 04° 49´58.0”S – 36 ° 12´12.0”W), 50 m depth, coll. R/V ‘Astro Garoupa’, 13 /XI/ 2003. Schyzoparatypes: MNRJ 16688. Diagnosis. Aaptos with an ectosomal skeleton with subectosomal cavities, composed of styles forming a palisade at the surface and bouquets formed by strongyloxeas branching below the surface. Spicules are one category of strongyloxeas with telescopic or mucronate tips (occasionally rounded ends), 485–1475 µm in length and 6–30 µm thick; and one category of styles, 242–582 µm in length and 2.4–9.6 µm thick. Description. Specimens are globular or sub-spherical (up to 9.7 cm in diameter, holotype; Fig. 2 A), with some incrustations of calcareous substrate. Oscules rounded, up to 1 mm in diameter, although only few are visible. Surface optically smooth, but microhispid. Consistency firm, almost incompressible. Color of the holotype is unknown and the paratype (UFPEPOR 181) is orange alive, turning dark gray, almost black after fixation in ethanol, with a light interior. Skeleton. Ectosomal skeleton with subectosomal cavities and composed of styles forming a discontinuous palisade at the surface, in which the ends of the strongyloxeas are also present. Choanosomal skeleton with large tracts composed of strongyloxeas with a radial arrangement branching below the surface, forming bouquets (Fig. 2 B,C). Collagen is present in a low density mainly within the ectosome throughout. Spicules. Megascleres in two categories (Tab. 1). Choanosomal strongyloxeas (with variations to styles; Figs. 2 D,E; 3)—smooth, straight or slightly curved, usually with telescopic or mucronate ends, with a wide size range: 485–1475 µm in length and 6–30 µm thick. Ectosomal styles (Fig. 2 F)—smooth, straight, occasionally slightly curved: 242–582 µm in length and 2.4–9.6 µm thick. The distinction between strongyloxeas and styles is very subtle. Here, we consider strongyloxeas as fusiform or slightly fusiform and styles are isodiametric. Etymology. The species is named after Prof. Dr. Eduardo Hajdu in recognition for his great contribution to our understanding of the systematic of sponges. Distribution. Provisionally endemic from Potiguar Basin (Rio Grande do Norte State, north-eastern Brazil). Ecology. Bryozoans and polychaetes were found associated to both specimens. This species occurs from 50 to 101 m depth, on rocky substrate. Remarks. Aaptos hajdui sp. nov. approaches A. aaptos very closely. Overall morphology and spicule dimensions are similar. Both species differ though in some traits such as the presence of larger styles in the new species (up to 582 µm in length) and the occurrence of styles to subtylostyles in A. aaptos (sensu Schmidt, 1864; Kelly-Borges & Bergquist, 1994 and van Soest 2002). In addition, Kelly-Borges & Bergquist (1994) have examined the holotype and verified the presence of flexuous styles and subtylostyles, not observed in the new species. Aaptos hajdui sp. nov. is considerably different from the other Brazilian species. Its smaller and thicker strongyloxeas and the presence of only one category of styles differentiate the new species from A. glutinans, which has strongyloxeas always larger than 925 µm and two categories of styles (Tab. 2). Among the records of Aaptos from Brazil, only A. aff. aaptos sensu Mothes & Lerner (1994) is close to the new species in spiculation (Tab. 1, 2), except for the fact that it shows variations of styles to subtylostyles and tylostyles, a character not found in A. hajdui sp. nov. Aaptos hajdui sp. nov. is also different from the three species known from the Caribbean. In A. bergmanni and A. duchassaingi strongyloxeas are always smaller than 950 µm (see Table 2). There are no measurements reported of oxeas and styles of A. pernucleata (Carter, 1870), but the presence of oxeas and the black color easily differentiate it from the new species. Other species of the genus (A. alphiensis Samaai & Gibbons, 2005; A. ciliata (Wilson, 1925); A. confertus Kelly-Borges & Bergquist, 1994; A. globosum Kelly-Borges & Bergquist, 1994; A. horrida (Carter, 1886); A. kanuux Lehnert, Hocevar & Stone, 2008; A. laxosuberites (Sollas, 1902); A papillata (Keller, 1880); A. robustus (Plotkin & Janussen, 2008); A. rosacea Kelly-Borges & Bergquist, 1994; A. tentum Kelly-Borges & Bergquist, 1994; and A. vannamei de Laubenfels, 1935) possess other kinds of megascleres in their spicule set, such as oxeas, tylostyles and/or subtylostyles, thus also differing from the new species.
