Informational and normative influence on conformity in autism
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by deficits in social interaction and restricted behavior. Whether individuals with ASD demonstrate an equivalent degree of social conformity to typically developed (TD) individuals remains elusive. In this study, with the objective of identifying potential disparities in the inclination for conformity between ASD and TD groups, we will engage in the application of two distinct social conformity tasks: a dot-count task and a preference rating task. During the dot-count task, participants will be presented with visual stimuli consisting of dots on a screen and instructed to provide estimations of the dot quantity. During the preference rating task, participants will be presented with various T-shirts designs and requested to assess their level of preference for each design. In both tasks, following the provision of their initial responses, participants will be presented with the perspectives of other individuals, affording them the opportunity to modify their original responses
