Khoo Kay Kim, professor of Malaysian history : a biobibliometric study
Presents an analysis of the publication productivity, authorship pattern, channels of communication, journal preference and language preference of Professor Dato' Khoo Kay Kim, Professor of Malaysian History in the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. The results of this biobibliometric study indicate that he can be a role model for future Malaysian historians to emulate his various achievements especially in the field of history education

TEORIAS MOTIVACIONAIS: ESTUDO DE CASO MARY KAY
Talvez não tenha como falar de motivação sem falar em liderança. Porém definir liderança não é uma tarefa fácil. A definição mais coerente refere-se à capacidade de influenciar pessoas e grupos. A liderança tem sido definida em termos de traços, mas o certo é objetivar que a liderança apresenta dois elementos em comum: a liderança como fenômeno grupal, envolvendo duas ou mais pessoas, e a liderança como um processo de influencia exercido de forma intencional pelo líder e sobre os seus seguidores (BERGAMINI, 1997). Por esse aspecto é importante salientar que liderança e administração são similares em alguns aspectos e que as pessoas podem ser líderes sem serem gerentes e vice-versa ou no melhor dos casos serem líderes e gerentes simultaneamente. A empresa Mary Kay Inc. fala da capacidade do individuo quando motivado desenvolver um trabalho com eficiência e qualidade gerando resultados satisfatórios. Os fatores motivadores utilizados pela empresa consistem no reconhecimento das colaboradoras enviando a elas brindes baseando-se no nível de vendas de cada um ou as elogiando em público nos eventos. A proposta deste trabalho de conclusão de curso é mostrar os processos motivadores estabelecidos pela empresa Mary Kay Inc., baseando-se no objetivo geral de que sem motivação os dons mais raros continuam estéreis, e as capacidades adquiridas ficam em desuso
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Kay is a Purdue graduate who arrived on campus in 1935 and resided in Duhme Hall, where Amelia Earhart and Lillian Gilbreth stayed when on campus. She attended talks given by Amelia Earhart. During high school she developed an interest in Home Economics and majored in Foods Management [Institutional Management, Now Hospitality and Tourism Management]. She discusses campus life during the 1950s & 1960s along with her position as Foods Supervisor/Dietician in a number of the residence halls for more than 25 years. Kay witnessed six new facilities built during that time. Both she and her husband, a Purdue graduate and faculty member in the School of Civil Engineering, have a family of twenty three Purdue graduates including children, grandchildren and spouses. She is “ a very loyal Boilermaker.
