    Teknik fotografi kecepatan rendah menggunakan flash atau slow sync flash merupakan salah satu teknik dalam fotografi yang bertujuan merekam jejak pergerakkan objek. Biasanya digunakan untuk aktivitas konser atau lampu kendaraan pada malam hari. Artikel ini membahas proses penciptaan karya fotografi menggunakan teknik slow sync flash yang dikembangkan. Sumber ide penciptaan diperoleh melalui makanan kue basah tradisional yang sering ditemukan di Jawa Barat. Keterikatan emosional yang terjadi antara penulis dengan objek kue basah menjadi sebuah penguat terciptanya proses kreatif. Proses kreatif dalam penciptaan karya ditunjukan melalui penggabungan yang memunculkan objek kue basah tradisional yang ditata sedemikian rupa dengan teknik slow sync flash. Fotografi berperan sebagai media penyampaian karya, sementara kue basah tradisional merupakan pesan utama yang ingin dibagikan penulis. Metode penciptaan dimulai dari ide berkarya, kontemplasi, stimulus, dan proses kekaryaan. Hasil akhir dari penciptaan ini adalah karya fotografi makanan yang terlihat berbeda pada umumnya. Melalui penciptaan karya fotografi makanan ini, penulis ingin menyampaikan teknik slow sync flash ini dapat menjadi teknik dalam penciptaan karya fotografi makanan. Low-speed photography technique using flash or slow sync flash is one of the techniques in photography that aims to record traces of object movement. Usually used for concert activities or vehicle lights at night. This article discusses the process of creating photographic works using the slow sync flash technique that was developed. The source of the idea creation was obtained through traditional wet cake that are often found in West Java. The emotional attachment that occurs between the writer and the object of the wet cake becomes an reinforcement for the creation of a creative process. The creative process in the creation of works is shown through a merger that gives rise to traditional wet cake objects arranged in such a way as the slow sync flash technique. Photography acts as a medium for delivering works, while traditional wet cakes are the main message that artists want to share. The method of creation begins with creative ideas, contemplation, stimulus, and work processes. The end result of this creation is a food photography work that looks different in general. Through the creation of this food photography work, the author wants to convey this slow sync flash technique can be a technique in creating food photography works

    SPECIFIC AND NON-SPECIFIC PARAMETERS OF SIMPLICIA AND ETHANOLIC EXTRACT OF PRASMAN LEAVES (AYAPANA TRIPLINERVIS)

    Objective: Ayapana triplinervis (Vahl) R.M.King and H. Rob. leaves can be applied as a diuretic and as an antioxidant. Based on its medicinal properties,A. triplinervis can be used as traditional medicine. Therefore, its quality and safety should be guaranteed, which could be verified based on theoutcomes of standardization processes. The aim of the present study was to evaluate some specific and non-specific parameters of simplicia and 70%ethanolic extracts of A. triplinervis leaves from three regions in Indonesia.Methods: The samples were macerated using 70% ethanol.Results: With regard to the specific parameters of A. triplinervis simplicia, the total water-soluble extract was 18.69–29.30%, the total ethanol-solubleextract was 7.73–11.78%, and the total flavonoid content was 3.31–4.10, expressed as mg rutin equivalent (RE)/g simplicia. With regard to the nonspecificparameters, the total drying losses were 13.61–14.55%, the total ash content was 11.54–11.83%, and the total acid insoluble ash content was1.90–2.66%. In the extracts, the total flavonoid content was 14.94–22.41 expressed as mg RE/g extract, while for the non-specific parameters, the totalwater content was 11.07–12.66%, the total ash content was 10.55–10.89%, and the total acid insoluble ash content was 0.25–0.32%.Conclusion: The parameters identified could be used to determine the safety and stability of extracts and simplicial before administration to treatvarious ailments

    ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY TEST OF FRACTIONS FROM STAR FRUIT LEAVES (AVERRHOA CARAMBOLA L.) FROM THREE REGIONS IN WEST JAVA

    Objectives: Previous in vitro research showed that ethyl acetate fractions of star fruit leaves exhibit strong antioxidant activities toward 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical (IC50 = 90 μg/ml). This study’s aim was to evaluate antioxidant activity of fractions from leaf extracts from star fruitsourced from three different regions in Indonesia (Depok, Sukabumi, and Subang) and, for the most active fraction (that with the highest antioxidantactivity), determine whether there was any correlation with phenolic and flavonoid content.Methods: Liquid–liquid partitioning, fractions were evaluated for in vitro antioxidant activity using DPPH radical scavenging and ferric reducingability of plasma (FRAP) assay.Results: The ethyl acetate fraction from the Subang region exhibited the strongest radical scavenging activity with both the DPPH assay (IC50 = 96 μg/ml)and the FRAP assay (FeEAC value = 1405 μmol/g).Conclusion: Ethyl acetate fractions from star fruit leaves could be used as natural antioxidants. No correlation was found between antioxidant activityand phenolic or flavonoid content

    Objective: This study aims to investigate the potency of matoa as a tyrosinase inhibitor and antioxidant and also to identify the chemical compounds in the most active fraction and an ethanol extract from the leaves and stem bark of matoa.Methods: The extracts were tested for their tyrosinase inhibitory activity by evaluating the formation of L-dopachrome at 490 nm. Antioxidant activity was tested using the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method. The most active extract from liquid-liquid partition analysis was fractionated, and then, the assays were performed.Results: The ethanol extract of leaves and stem bark of matoa showed weak anti-tyrosinase activity (percent inhibition was 24.54±0.22% and 21.93±0.57%, respectively, final concentration 200 μg/mL), but they showed strong DPPH radical scavenging activity (IC50 values were 6.11 μg/mL and 5.47 μg/mL, respectively). The ethyl acetate fraction was the most active fraction with an IC50 value of 5.38 μg/mL. Ethanol extract from the leaves and stem bark of matoa and the ethyl acetate fraction contains flavonoids, tannins, saponins, triterpenoids, and glycosides.Conclusion: Matoa does not have potency as a tyrosinase inhibitor, but it has good antioxidant activity, although still lower than that of quercetin

    ACTIVITY OF ETHANOLIC EXTRACT FROM Justicia gendarussa Burm. LEAVES ON DECREASING THE URIC ACID PLASMA

    The effect of Justicia gendarussa leaves extract has been investigated using oxonate-induced hyperuricemic male albino rats. In this experiment thirty five male albino rats were divided randomly into seven groups. There were three group doses variations of J. gendarussa extract that were 1.3 g/kg bw, 2.6 g/kg bw and 5.2 g/kg bw; two comparison groups that were allopurinol 0.68 g/kg bw and herbal “X” 0.85 g/kg bw; and two control groups that were induced control potassium oxonate 0.25 mg/kg bw and normal control CMC 0,5 %. Intraperitoneal administration of potassium oxonate 0.25 mg/kg bw was given one hour before administration of test drugs in eight day and plasma uric acid was measured in rats after two hours. Plasma uric acid was measured by spectrophotometric on 520 nm with enzymatic method. The results showed that all extracts could reduced uric acid level of rats. The decreasing potency of uric acid level was equal to doses increase, so the best result that can reduce uric acid level was J. gandarussa extract at a dose 5.2 g/ kg bw. This results indicated that J. gendarussa leaves extract may be effective for the prevention and the treatment of hyperuricemia
