Kafka : phenomenology and post-structuralism
Get PDFThis study seeks to identify a coalition of philosophy and literature in the work of
Franz Kafka, and begins with a grounding of his output in the philosophical context
from which it emerged. This relatively under-researched philosophical backdrop
consists in Kafka's study, at university and in a discussion group, of philosophical
positions derived from the "descriptive psychology" of Franz Brentano. Kafka was
hence conversant with several philosophical agendas, notably those of logic, Gestalt
psychology, and a nascent form of phenomenology, which all derived their impetus
from Brentano's work.
The initial issue, therefore, is that of assessing the extent of a purported influence of
such theories on Kafka's texts. What emerges as a "strategy" of Kafka's work is the
aesthetic exploitation of such positions; a tactic which constitutes an almost
parodistic subversion of these early forms of phenomenological thought. Thus on the
one hand it is implied that the narrative technique of Kafka's work, and in particular
the representation of consciousness and its "world", is derived from Brentanian
thought, and on the other that this influence is modulated in a specific direction,
which renders these texts so singularly amenable to post-structuralist thought.
My project consequently proceeds to examine the post-structuralist response to
Kafka while juxtaposing this analysis with the grounding of his work in proto-phenomenology.
Central to this stage of the study are Blanchot, Derrida, Foucault,
and Deleuze and Guattari, and the scrutiny of their perspectives will be organized by
the themes of authorship, interpretation, power, and desire.
The exploration of the "deconstructive" standpoint, represented primarily through
Blanchot and Derrida, will be guided by an account of why such a stance seems to be
accommodated so readily by Kafka's work, and also of the extent to which his texts
could be said, on the basis of the influence of Brentanian thought, to resist such
appropriation

No full textopenIl seguente lavoro ha l’intenzione di analizzare la vita e alcuni scritti di Franz Kafka in relazione al suo contesto familiare e culturale nella Praga ebraica del primo Novecento. Questo studio esamina come l'esperienza di crescita in una famiglia ebrea praghese influenzò profondamente la visione del mondo e la produzione letteraria dello scrittore tedesco, con un focus particolare sul ruolo del padre, Hermann Kafka, e delle sorelle, Ottilie, Valerie e Gabriele, nella sua vita.
Attraverso un'analisi di alcune opere chiave e di alcuni scambi epistolari con le sorelle, questo lavoro esplora come Kafka integrò le sue esperienze familiari, la sua identità ebraica e le tensioni culturali dell'epoca nella sua narrativa. Si mette in evidenza il rapporto complesso con il padre, figura autoritaria e dominante nella vita di Kafka, e come questo rapporto si riflette nelle dinamiche dei personaggi nelle sue opere. Inoltre, si esamina il ruolo delle sorelle nel sostegno e nell'influenza sulla sua vocazione letteraria.
Questo lavoro fornisce un'illuminante prospettiva su come le radici culturali, familiari e le relazioni personali possano plasmare la creatività e la visione di un grande scrittore, offrendo un approfondimento unico nella vita e nell'opera di Franz Kafka.The current paper intends to analyze the life and some writings of Franz Kafka in relation to his family and cultural context in early 20th century Jewish Prague. This study examines how the experience of growing up in a Prague Jewish family profoundly influenced the German writer's worldview and literary output, with a particular focus on the role of his father, Hermann Kafka, and sisters, Ottilie, Valerie and Gabriel, in his life.
Through an analysis of some key works and some correspondence exchanges with his sisters, this paper explores how Kafka integrated his family experiences, his Jewish identity and the cultural tensions of the time into his works.
This paper highlitghts the complex relationship between Kafka and his his father, a dominant authority figure in Kafka's life, and how this relationship is reflected in the dynamics of the characters in his works. In addition this studey examines the sisters' role in supporting and influencing Kafka's literary vocation.
This work provides an illuminating perspective on how cultural roots, family and personal relationships can shape the creativity and vision of a great writer, offering a unique insight into the life and work of Franz Kafka

No full textMy paper deals with the connection between spatial order and social order in the works of Stifter, Nietzsche, and Kafka. While Stifter, especially in his novel Nachsommer, is concerned to narrate space as a potential model for social harmony and its limits, Nietzsche, borrowing a lot from Stifter, is focusing on the potential of the high mountains as a breeding place for a revolution of values (cf. Thus Spake Zarathustra). In his early writings, Kafka connects closely to both authors and recombines their views. My paper will reconstruct Kafka’s return to the former authors and demonstrate how it is informed by the sociological discussions of his day (Quetelet, Tarde, Brentano, Simmel), and how we could use contemporary cutting edge theory (notably the actor-network approach designed by Bruno Latour and others) to unveil the underlying patterns of narration in Kafka’s Betrachtung.A&HCI國外國際20120323~2012032

No full textLa cronaca di un intenso amore. L’incontro tra mondi diversi sullo sfondo dell’«epoca ebraico-occidentale» di cui Kafka è l’estremo rappresentante. L’ultima grande testimonianza della koinè praghese, ceca-tedesca-ebraica. Le lettere di Franz Kafka a Milena Jesenská vengono presentate qui per la prima volta integralmente e in una nuova traduzione. L’edizione restituisce la complessità del testo originale facendo emergere l’assoluto valore letterario e riscoprendo le fonti segrete che ispirano l’autore: da Dostoevskij a Dante, da Kierkegaard a Nietzsche, dal Tao al Vangelo di Giovanni, alla Cabbalà.
Si dipana così un percorso attraverso differenti gradi della scrittura in cui il vissuto si intreccia all’elaborazione visionaria di Kafka e si proietta su molteplici piani di senso in un dialogo con le grandi voci antiche e moderne del pensiero e della letteratura. Design and deploy of an Apache Kafka cluster
No full textreservedQuesta tesi riporta l’attività svolta nell’ambito del tirocinio presso l’azienda Acciaierie Valbruna S.p.A. Lo stage ha avuto come obiettivo l’implementazione e la gestione di un ambiente Apache Kafka a scopo di test.
Apache Kafka è un progetto open-source che fornisce una piattaforma per la gestione di flussi di dati in tempo reale tra diversi archivi di dati in modo affidabile e scalabile.
L’ambiente è stato inizialmente distribuito tramite Ansibile, uno strumento che consente la gestione e la distribuzione automatica di sistemi Linux e Windows tramite il paradigma Infrastrutcture as a Code, e successivamente lo stesso ambiente è stato distribuito come cluster di container utilizzando Podman, un’alternativa a Docker.
Il cluster Apache Kafka gestisce la replica di un database MySQL su un database OracleDB 10 (che si comporta come un Oracle DB 9 attraverso l’emulazione) sfruttando una suite di plugin sviluppati per Kafka Connect, che è uno strumento distribuito assieme ad Apache Kafka che facilita la connessione del cluster a diversi tipi di sistemi di dati.
Uno schema registry viene inoltre connesso al cluster per ottimizzare il consumo di spazio e
per gestire più facilmente eventuali modifiche alla struttura delle fonti di dati. Questo registry è un repository che gestisce e convalida gli schema utilizzati nel sistema, in questo caso gli schema del database sorgente.
La prima parte di questo documento riguarda l’analisi dei requisiti proposti dall’azienda concentrandosi anche sulle decisioni progettuali che sono scaturite dai vincoli imposti e le sfide che l’ambiente di test ha presentato.
La seconda parte è dedicata alla descrizione dettagliata dei principali componenti dell’infrastruttura.
La terza parte è dedicata all’effettiva implementazione dell’ambiente con Ansible e a come questo approccio ha portato a un processo di deploy molto più efficiente e più facilmente gestibile rispetto a quello manuale. Inoltre, lo stesso ambiente è stato distribuito come un insieme di container, mettendo in mostra le sfide e i vincoli di questo approccio e approfondendo i pro e i contro di ciascun metodo.
La parte finale del documento riguarda il feedback ricevuto dall’azienda e i miglioramenti necessari che potrebbero essere necessari per poter utilizzare il cluster in produzione.This thesis reports on the activity carried out as part of the internship at the company Acciaierie Valbruna S.p.A. Furthermore, the same environment was deployed as an ensemble of containers, showing this approach’s challenges and constraints while delving into the pros and cons of each method.
The final part of the document covers the feedback received from the company and what improvements might be necessary to use the cluster in production
