The goal of this article is to show that, contrary to Michaux's proposals (1995 and 1996), the proverbs could not constitute personal judgements.
The difficulty represented by the data called for invalidate the classical idea which considers the proverbs collective judgements can be surmonted by taking into account two factors :
(i) the name status of proverbs
and

Analysis polymorphisms of MTOR gene in Latvian sheep breeds and their relationship with the Kleiber ratio
Mehāniskā rapamicīna mērķa kināze (mTOR; mechanistic target of rapamycin) zīdītāju organismos regulē vairākus procesus saistītus ar šūnas augšanu un proliferāciju. Šī iemesla dēļ, mTOR kināzi kodējošā gēna MTOR polimorfismu analīze ir nepieciešama, lai noteiktu to saistību ar barības efektivitātes rādītājiem Latvijas aitu šķirnēs ar mērķi uzlabot šo šķirņu kopējo produkcijas sistēmas efektivitāti. Šī pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot iespējamo saistību starp MTOR polimorfismiem un Kleibera koeficientu Latvijas aitu šķirnēs. Lai noskaidrotu šo potenciālo saistību, pētījuma ietveros tika izvēlēti pieci (5) polimorfismi – rs406686788 T/C, rs423180417 C/G, rs406939163 G/A, rs398177982 G/A, rs413243066 C/T – un tika genotipēti 168 intensīvi nobaroti Latvijas aitu šķirņu jēri no astoņām (8) šķirnēm. Šim procesam tika izmantota restrikcijas fragmentu garumu polimorfisma metode un augstas izšķirtspējas kušanas analīze. Pēc statistiskās analīzes rezultātiem tika konstatēts, ka pastāv statistiski būtiska atšķirība starp visiem polimorfismiem un Latvijas aitu šķirnes jēru Kleibera koeficientu (rs406686788: p = 9,98 x10-3; rs423180417: p = 2,3 x10-2; rs406939163: p = 6,58 x10-3; rs398177982: p = 4,27 x10-2; rs413243066: p = 1,05 x10-2). Augsta nelīdzsvarotā saistība (LD; linkage disequilibrium) tika konstatēta tikai starp rs406939163 un rs413243066 lokusiem (D’ = 0,94; r2 = 0,88), savukārt, starp pārējo polimorfismu kombinācijām tika konstatēta zema nelīdzsvarotā saistība. Papildus tika veikta haplotipu biežumu un to saistības ar Kleibera koeficientu analīze. Tika konstatēts, ka biežāk sastopamais haplotips paraugos bija TCGGC haplotips. Statistikās analīzes rezultātā tika noskaidrots, ka starp visos lokusos homozigoto genotipu un Kleibera koeficientu nepastāv statistiski būtiskas atšķirības (p = 0,29). Starp šiem haplotipiem vislielākā vidējā Kleibera koeficienta vērtība tika konstatēta CGAGT haplotipam. Iegūto rezultātu apkopojums norāda uz MTOR polimorfismu potenciālu Kleibera koeficienta selekcijā Latvijas aitu šķirnēm. Bakalaura darbs tika izstrādāts Latvijas Universitātes Bioloģijas institūta Genomikas un Bioinformātikas laboratorijā.The mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) kinase regulates several processes related to cell growth and proliferation in mammalian organisms. For this reason, the analysis of the gene (MTOR) polymorphisms encoding mTOR kinase is necessary for determining association between MTOR polymorphisms and feed efficiency in Latvian sheep breeds with the aim of improving the overall efficiency of the production system of these breeds. The aim of this study was to analyze a possible association between MTOR polymorphisms and the Kleiber ratio in Latvian sheep breeds. In order to do that, five (5) polymorphisms - rs406686788 T/C, rs423180417 C/G, rs406939163 G/A, rs398177982 G/A, rs413243066 C/T - were selected for the study, and 168 intensively fattened lambs of eight (8) Latvian sheep breeds were genotyped. Restriction fragment length polymorphism and high-resolution melting analysis were used for this process. According to the results of the statistical analysis, it was found that there is a statistically significant difference between all polymorphisms and the Kleiber ratio of lambs of the Latvian sheep breeds (rs406686788: p = 9.98 x10-3; rs423180417: p = 2.3 x10-2; rs406939163: p = 6 .58 x10-3; rs398177982: p = 4.27 x10-2; rs413243066: p = 1.05 x10-2). High linkage disequilibrium (LD) was found only between rs406939163 and rs413243066 loci (D' = 0.94; r2 = 0.88), while low linkage disequilibrium was found between the other polymorphism combinations. In addition, an analysis of haplotype frequencies and haplotype association with the Kleiber ratio was performed. The most common haplotype in the samples was found to be the TCGGC haplotype. As a result of the statistical analysis, it was found that there is no statistically significant difference between the homozygous genotype in all loci and the Kleiber ratio (p = 0.29). Among these haplotypes, the highest average Kleiber ratio value was found for the CGAGT haplotype. The summary of obtained results indicates the potential of MTOR polymorphisms in Kleiber ratio selection for Latvian sheep breeds.
