    KITCHENER-BERLIN ist der letzte Film eines Zyklus' von sieben Filmen, die zwischen 1978 und 1990 entstanden sind. Die Filme verbindet die Erforschung des autobiographischen Subjekts in Beziehung zu Geschichte und Erinnerung. Die deutsch-kanadische Stadt Kitchener (vor dem ersten Weltkrieg hieß sie Berlin) ist meine Geburtsstadt. Die Geschichte dieser Stadt war der Ausgangspunkt meiner Befragung des Erbes und der Suche nach kultureller und persönlicher Identität. Zum größten Teil ein lyrisches Gewebe aus mehreren Filmfäden, stellt KITCHENER-BERLIN Bilder der Vergangenheit und Gegenwart aus Deutschland und Kitchener neben- und übereinander und bewegt sich von einer Interpretation äußerer Realitäten (in Teil 1 ) auf eine innere Sicht einer kollektiven und persönlichen Psyche (in Teil 2) zu. Dieser spätere Teil beschäftigt sich mit Film selbst und der Rolle des Künstlers bei der Entdeckung der Geschichten und Geheimnisse des Subjekts
