Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used

No full text본 연구는 과학기술특성화 대학의 ISO 45001 안전보건경영시스템 도입 및 운영 현황을 체계적으로 분석하고, 효과적인 개선 방안을 제안함으로써 안전보건관리 수 준을 한 단계 끌어올리기 위한 전략을 제시하고자 한다. ISO 45001은 국제표준화기 구(ISO)에서 제정된 안전보건경영시스템의 국제 표준으로, 근로자와 조직을 보호하 기 위해 위험 요소를 체계적으로 관리하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 특히, 연구실 안전 사고 발생 가능성이 높은 과학기술특성화 대학의 특수한 환경에서 ISO 45001의 도 입은 조직의 법적 요구사항 준수뿐만 아니라 안전 문화 확산 및 성과 개선을 위한 핵심적인 도구로 주목받고 있다.
본 연구는 우리나라의 과학기술특성화 대학(KAIST, UNIST, DGIST, GIST)를 대상으로 설문조사와 심층 인터뷰를 통해 ISO 45001의 도입 배경, 운영 실태, 성과 및 문제점을 다각도로 비교·분석하였다. 연구 결과, 주요 문제점으로는 구성원의 낮 은 시스템 이해도, 경영진의 관심 저하, 운영의 형식화, 자원과 인력 부족, IT 기반 데이터 관리 시스템의 부재 등이 확인되었다. 이러한 문제는 ISO 45001의 실질적 효과를 저해하며 조직의 안전보건 관리 수준 향상에 장애 요인으로 작용하고 있다.
이를 해결하기 위해 본 연구는 다음과 같은 개선 방안을 제안한다. 첫째, 구성원 의 안전보건 역량 강화를 위한 체계적이고 지속적인 교육체계 도입이 필요하다. 둘 째, 경영진의 관심과 참여를 확대하고, 리더십 강화를 통해 안전보건경영의 전략적 우선순위를 높여야 한다. 셋째, 과학기술특성화 대학의 특성을 반영한 맞춤형 시스 템 커스터마이징을 통해 운영의 효율성과 적응성을 제고해야 한다. 넷째, 장기적 관 점에서 자원과 인력을 안정적으로 지원하는 체계를 구축하고, 마지막으로 IT 기술 을 활용한 데이터 기반의 모니터링 및 평가 체계를 확립하여 실질적 성과를 극대화 해야 한다.
이 연구는 ISO 45001이 과학기술특성화 대학에서 단순히 법적·규제적 요구를 충 족하는 도구에 그치지 않고, 조직의 안전보건 문화를 혁신하고 지속 가능한 안전보 건 관리체계를 구축하는 데 기여할 수 있음을 실증적으로 입증하였다. 본 논문의 결과는 유사한 연구환경을 가진 대학 및 연구기관에서도 ISO 45001을 효과적으로 도입·운영하기 위한 유용한 모델과 가이드를 제공할 것으로 기대된다.Maste
