This Ph.D. Research is the result of an ethnographic research on the migratory trajectories of some Senegalese men living in northern Italy. The choice of Senegal is particularly interesting, especially because of the impressive scientific scholarship produced during the last decades on the mobility experiences of Senegalese citizens to European countries. The majority of the works produced until now on this national community in Italy has explored especially the living and working conditions of Senegalese migrants living abroad, as well as they create and manage associations or act as highly mobile transnational social actors. More recently, other researches have explored aspects related to gender issues.
Differently, the topic of sexuality of Senegalese migrants is still understudied, therefore this thesis analyses the experiences of some Senegalese men who express non-normative forms of masculinity and sexuality, namely gender expressions that bypass or betray the socio-normative model represented by heterosexuality. The fieldwork carried out for this research explores how these men manage their masculinities and sexualities in Italy, Senegal or other countries in which they move. A special attention has been given to timing, in order to understand whether and to what extent they have been redefined from pre-migratory and post-migratory period. The collected data illustrate how some biographical factors (age, gender class, socio-legal status, language skills/gaps, socio-cultural capital) could influence their migratory trajectories and, simultaneously, the social positionalities they occupy in the transnational arena (workers, students, asylum seekers, refugees, sex workers, undocumented people), without neglecting the ways they use to express their sexuality.
The research focuses on the everyday strategies that these Senegalese migrants deploy, choosing according to specific situations whether confirm or redefine their transnational image of migrant men living abroad. In some contexts, the participants to this research are interested in adapting to dominant social expectations transmitted by family members or other compatriots, whereas in other contexts they feel free to express more easily their non-normative sexuality through creative and flexible strategies that vary according to social contexts in which they find themselves or people they are in touch with or connected to.
In conclusion, the thesis analyses limits and possibilities of these migrants' agency and their ability to manage bonds and belongings through the borders. The fieldwork has been carried out between 2015 and 2017 through qualitative research methodologies (archive research, interviews, ethnographic observations, digital ethnography) in Italy and Senegal. The collected data have been analysed creating a dialogue between anthropology, sociology, migration studies, men studies and queer studies.

Our purpose here is to reflect on the paradigm of exile as it is stated in the literature of the French Haitian diaspora. The study focuses mainly on a thematic and formal analysis of Dany Laferrière’s novel Pays sans chapeau [Country without a Hat] (1996). The author describes the return of a narrator to his native island after an absence of twenty years. In this novel, the motif of exile, too deeply anchored in the collective imagination and experience of Haitians, is no longer subject to metaphorization. Thus, the use of such a motif in fiction may result in the author himself being condemned to silence

Historia. Rencana Kebijakan dan Program Pembangunan Hortikultura Lahan Kering untuk Provinsi Sumatera Utara: Sudah Tepatkah?
Consumption of fruits and vegetables increases the demand of horticultural commodities but increasing of horticultural production is smaller than increasing of its demand so that imports are necessary to fill in these consumption needs. The government in 2019 plans horticultural commodities for every province in Indonesia. The objectives of this study were (1) to analyze superior horticultural commodities in North Sumatra Province, (2) to analyze the specialist and localization of horticultural commodities in North Sumatra, and (3) to compare priority horticultural commodities from the analysis results with government policy plans. Secondary data used in this study were from 2017 - 2019. The analytical tools used were Location Quotient (LQ), Specialization Quotient (SQ), and Localization Quotient (LoQ). The results showed (1) superior dryland horticultural commodities were dominated by shallots, chilies, mangoes, durian, papaya, and galangal in North Tapanuli, Toba Samosir, and Dairi Regencies, (2) several dryland horticultural commodities have a comparative advantage and its production is not localized, such as mango, durian, and chili in Batubara and Labuhan Batu Selatan Regencies, and (3) fifty percent of dry land horticultural commodities were priority commodities.
The current paper aims at analysing the Roman Dessiné in the work Autoportrait de Paris
avec Chat (2018) by Dany Laferrière, in view of the images present in the aforementioned
narrative. This fictional production, published in 2018, is the first example of the new genre
created by the Immortel de L’Académie Française author. At first glance, the audience might
confuse the book for a children’s sketchbook. However, the narrative is more than that. We
find three main characters in it: a famous writer about to receive the immortality distinction
for his books, the city of Paris, and the Cat, with a burlesque profile in a Dandy style, who
knows every cultural corner of the world’s most visited French capital. Thus, we are
immersed in a museum of images and words, in which a personal Paris emerges, populated by
the most famous artists from different aesthetic fields and from different periods. Dany
Laferrière’s Roman Dessiné reminds us of several avant-garde compositions, whether in
image or in writing. Considering these characteristics of the composition, we work with the
hypothesis that the Roman Dessiné is a result of the dialogues between literature and image,
which took place both during the 20th Century, and in the internal circuit of the set of Dany
Laferrière’s works. We believe that the author preserves a poetic and aesthetic tradition,
albeit, at the same time, implements innovations as he explores the levels of pictoriality
(LOUVEL, 2016a; LOUVEL, 2016b) in his works. For us, Autoportrait de Paris avec Chat
might be considered an aesthetic landmark in which we see the emergence, for the first time,
of an imagery concretism in the novel. Our preliminary results confirm that, through
parodistic drawings and caricatures, the Haitian-Québécois author illustrated the references
that constantly appear in his other productions, presenting, this time with his own hand, the
painters and the works that marked his route in some way.O presente estudo tem como objetivo analisar o Roman Dessiné na obra Autoportrait de Paris
Contudo, a narrativa é bem
visitada do mundo.
The Literary Movement of Dany Laferrière; Francophone Literary History and the Future of French Literature- Brady Welvaert
Haitian-Canadian-American author Dany Laferrière breaks the bonds of literary terms of categorization. In North America, French-language literature has a history of isolation and suppression, but the literature from Dany Laferrière pushes past boundaries placed by those who seek to categorize him. Laferrière, who identifies as “American” and wants to be seen as nothing else, seeks to embody an American identity in context of all of North America. But is there a sense of unity throughout North America despite borders, whether they are of countries our linguistic? Additionally, his election to the French Academy merits some questions worth addressing, considering a history of disinterest and even condescending attitudes toward the Haitian community
