Die Debatte über die Rheinfrage, die lange vor dem Einsetzen der Feindseligkeiten im Jahre 1792 angefangen hatte, dauerte noch nach der Zeit von Fructidor an V, in der die Anhänger der Angliederung, nämlich Reubell, zur Macht kamen. Die Regierung, die zuerst von den Deutschen und den Mainzern Klubisten beeinflufît war, scheint zwischen 1797 und 1800 manchmal in Hinsicht auf die preußischen Besitzungen am linken Rheinufer zu zögern, die der erste Entwurf der Teilung in Départements ausdrücklich ausschließt. Dieses Zögern schafft bis 1800 fur die französische Verwaltung, die auf den Widerstand der alten Vertreter der Provinzialstànde stößt, eine unbequeme Lage. Indem sie mit der Politik des Ancien Regime wieder anknüpft, wird die revolutionäre Politik bis zur Losung einer endgültigen Angliederung des linken Rheinufers (1801) lange Zeit brauchen.Josef Smets, The Rhine, the Natural Border of France.
Discussions concerning the Rhine question began well before the outbreak of hostilities in 1792 and lasted beyond the coup of Fructidor Year V, which brought the "annexationists", especially Reubell, to power. To begin with, under the influence of Germans and Mainz club members residing in France, the Government from 1797 to 1800 appeared to hesitate at times over the Prussian possessions situated on the left bank of the Rhine, which were expressly excluded from the départements initially planned. This hesitation resulted in a uneasy situation for the French administration, which until 1800 ran up against the resistance of the former members of the provincial estates. Revolutionary policy, re-enacting that of the old regime, took some time to come to terms with the final annexation of the left bank of the Rhine (1801).Josef Smets, Il Reno, frontiera naturelle della Francia.
I dibattiti intorno alla questione del Reno, iniziati molto prima dell'apertura delle ostilità del 1792, durarono oltre il fruttidoro, anno V, ortando gli « annessionisti » - notamente Reubell - al potere. Influenzato, al principio, dai tedeschi e dai clebisti « mayençais » residenti in Francia, il governo dal 1797 al 1800 sembrò esitare talvolta sull'argomento dei possedimenti prussiani situati sulla riva sinistra del Reno esclusi espressamente dai primo progetto di dipartimentalismo. Questa situazione provoeò una questione scomoda per l'amministrazione francese che si scontrò con la resistenza degli anziani rappresentanti degli stati provinciali fino al 1800. Les débats autour de la question du Rhin, commencés bien avant le déclenchement des hostilités en 1792, ont duré au-delà de fructidor an V qui porta les « annexionnistes », notamment Reubell, au pouvoir. Influencé d'abord par les Allemands et les clubistes mayençais résidant en France, le gouvernement de 1797 à 1800 semble hésiter parfois au sujet des possessions prussiennes situées sur la rive gauche du Rhin que le premier projet de départementalisation exclut expressément. Cette hésitation provoqua une situation inconfortable pour l'administration française qui se heurta à la résistance des anciens représentants des États provinciaux, jusqu'en 1800. La politique révolutionnaire renouant avec celle de l'Ancien Régime mettra du temps à parvenir à la solution d'une annexion définitive de la rive gauche du Rhin (1801).Smets Josef. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
