David Martyn Lloyd-Jones 1899-1981 and twentieth-century evangelicalism.
The purpose of this thesis was to demonstrate the significance of the life and ministry of David Martyn Lloyd-Jones in post-war British evangelicalism and to show that, so far as Protestant churches in England and Wales were concerned, no history of the period can afford to ignore him. It is our contention that despite differences of opinion and self- marginalization Lloyd-Jones was and has remained a major force in evangelical thinking. In order to understand how this developed the thesis has been structured along thematic lines highlighting events, persons and questions. The study begins by setting the stage with a biographical chapter and goes on to examine the kind of impact that Lloyd-Jones's preaching had on Christians of all denominations. He believed preaching to be the greatest need of the day and the position of this thesis is that preaching was Lloyd-Jones's greatest contribution to twentieth- century Christianity. As a preacher he attracted one of London's largest congregations and in chapter three we look at the history and nature of Westminster Chapel comparing it with neighbouring ministries, and establishing the kind of people who went to hear him. Chapters four and five ascertain the factors which shaped Lloyd-Jones's views on the church and show how his Reformed evangelicalism led in a separatist as opposed to an ecumenical direction and finally, to a position which was neither Congregational nor Presbyterian. Our further argument is that while he favoured unity among believers his separatist ecclesiology only exacerbated the situation and left evangelicals more divided than before. Chapters six to eight evaluate Lloyd-Jones's background, the nature of his leadership and the extent of his influence - factors which either shaped or were the outcome of his ministry - and looks at the issues which these questions raise
NJBankers 2015 Economic Survey: Final Analysis and Report of Survey Findings
This is the fifth annual Economic Survey. The survey inquires about national and state current economic assessments, as well as six-month projections; expectations about long-term and short-term interest rates; commercial real estate submarket and loan demand; and residential loan and refinance demand. The survey also explores real estate values, currently and expected, as well as a set of negative indicators and common obstacles to lending. The survey series probes metrics about the national, state, and banking market economies in order to better understand, and, in turn, better facilitate the growth, development, and common interests of the banking sector in the state of New Jersey. Conducted by the Bloustein Center for Survey Research (BCSR) under the direction of James Hughes, Marc Weiner and BCSR senior research specialist Orin Puniello,Conducted for New Jersey Bankers Association"January 2015

Coping and emotion in sport: Future directions
First paragraph: The chapters presented in this book provide a current overview of theory and research pertaining to coping and emotion in sport. The geographical diversity of the authors (Europe, United States of America, and Australia) testifies to the universality of the topic. The diversity of theoretical approaches employed also hints at a vibrant and complex area of study. Notwithstanding the diversity of the book’s content, we believe that themes emerge which indicate future directions for the study of coping and emotion in sport. In the following pages we outline some of these themes, which are our current thoughts on the area having been involved in editing the book for some 18 months. We do not claim this to be an exhaustive list of areas for future work nor a summary of the research suggestions highlighted in each chapter, but rather a reflection of our own current interests and biases
Preface
First paragraph: It may come as a shock to some but possibly the most supremely confident athlete of modern times, Muhammad Ali, experienced emotions prior to competing that all of us can recognize. What is also apparent, given Ali’s legendary status as a sportsman, that he was able to cope with these emotions, clearly crucial in a sport such as boxing where failure to do so could have substantial consequences for the athlete. The emotional highs and lows of competitive sport, whether experienced as a competitor, spectator or coach may be the essential ingredient that gives sport its universal and compelling appeal. Who could fail to share the intense anticipation, nervousness, excitement, relief and jubilation when Cathy Freeman won 400 metres gold in front of a frenzied home crowd at the 2000 Sydney Olympics
NJBankers 2017-18 Economic Survey: Final Anaylsis and Report of Survey Results
Under the direction of James Hughes, the Bloustein School surveyed all 92 member institutions of the New Jersey Bankers Association and received a 73 percent response rate.
This year’s survey results indicate a soaring confidence in the US economy. Nearly 85 percent of respondents indicated the national economy’s health as “good,” and a record 10 percent rated it as “excellent.” For the first time in the survey’s history, no one rated it as “poor.” While somewhat more muted than sentiments toward the national economy, confidence in the NJ economy is nonetheless surging. 42 percent of respondents rated New Jersey’s economic health as “good” in 2018, compared to 15 percent in 2016. Still, 2018 marks the eighth consecutive year in which no respondent has rated New Jersey’s economy as “excellent.”Survey conducted for New Jersey Bankers Association by Edward J.
