Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. No full text蒲松齡이 지은 《聊齋志異》는 明末淸初에 나온 中國文言小說의 최고봉이라 할 수 있다. 本考에서는 《聊齋志異》의 다양한 題材로 된 故事중에서 讀者들에게 가장 많은 사랑을 받고 있는 弧狸精에 관련된 이야기 즉, 弧狸精故事를 연구하여 그것의 內面思想의 분석을 통해서 象徵 意義를 규명했다.
弧狸精故事가 유구한 역사를 지닌 점에 착안하여 3章에서 先秦兩漢 시대부터 蒲松齡當代에 이르는 弧狸精故事의 時代意義를 살펴보았다. 그 결과 神話時代부터 전해 내려온 弧狸精故事는 「弧狸精의 人間化」라는 목표를 향해서 발전되어 왔고, 이 작업은 唐代에 대부분 이루어져 새로운 전통이 수립되었으며 蒲松齡이 이 전통을 이어받아 이 課題를 완성했다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
4章에서는 儒·佛·道의 세 思想을 통해서 弧狸精故事의 內面思想을 분석하였다. 道敎思想을 통해서 弧狸精의 초월적인 능력을 나타냈으며, 弧狸精와 人間과의 만남에 必然性을 부여하려는 목적으로 佛敎思想을, 弧狸精을 통해서 인간에게 교훈을 주려는 목적에서는 儒敎思想을 중점적으로 사용했다는 사실을 알 수 있었다. 5章에서는 弧狸精의 性格構造를 분석하여 그것이 첫째로 人과 物의 單一化, 둘째로 實在性과 幻想性의 統一, 셋째로 普遍性과 特殊性의 合一로 이루어졌다는 것을 알게 되었다. 또한 이렇게 모순되는 성격을 소유하고 있었기에 이 세 가지 思想들을 모두 효과적으로 수용할 수 있었다는 사실을 발견했다.
6章에서는 이제까지의 成果를 토대로 《聊齋志異》 에서 弧狸精의 象徵意義는 두 가지, 즉 理想人物의 寄託과 理想世界의 創造라는 것을 알 수 있었다. 蒲松齡은 弧狸精의 形象에 理想的인 人間象을 기탁하여 《聊齋志異》라는 作品의 世界에 理想世界를 창조하려 하였다. 결국 弧狸精은 蒲松齡의 理想世界를 創造한 理想世界의 建設者였다.
《聊齋志異》의 弧狸精故事는 悠久한 歷史의 經驗을 토대로 하고 弧狸精에게 蒲松齡當代의 時代意義를 附加함으로써, 「弧狸精의 人間化」라는 傳統的인 課題를 성공적으로 완성했다는 점에서 커다란 意義가 있다.;《Liao-Zhai-Zhi-Yi (聊齋志異)》 authored by Pu Song Ling(蒲松齡) is the supreme masterpiece of chinese literature during the last of Myung (明) Dynasty and the beginning of the Chung(淸) Dynasty. This research will be dedicated to the analysis of the inner philosophy of the ＜Hu Li Jing Gu Shi (狐狸精故事)＞, in order to examine the symbolic significance of this story of the fox, much adored by the readers and chosen from all of the various themes of 《Liao-Zhai-Zhi-Yi》
Considering the historical aspect of ＜Hu Li Jing Gu Shi＞, in Chapter 3, the research examined the historical significance of ＜Hu Li Jing Gu Shi＞ starting in the Early Jhin and the era of two Hans Carried down to the period contemporary to Pu Song Ling.
As a result, it was discovered that handed down from the mythological era, of the &apos;humanization of Hu Li Jing&apos; being the ultimate goal towards which the ＜Hu Li Jing Gu Shi＞ has strived for, had in effect been newly established in the Dang(唐) Dynasty and perfected by Pu Song Ling in his succession of tradition.
In Chapter 4 the inner mentality of ＜Hu Li Jing Gu Shi＞ was analyzed through the three philosophies of confucianism(儒敎), buddhism(佛敎), Taoism(道敎). The transcendental quality of ＜Hu Li Jing(狐狸精)＞ and man was the main purpose of Buddhism and finally to inspire and teach man through ＜Hu Li Jing＞ was essentially of confucianism. In Chapter 5, the structure of Hu Li Jing&apos;s personality was analyzed firstly, the unity of &apos;man(人)&apos; and &apos;matter(物)&apos;, secondly, the unification of the ideal and reality, and finally, the universal and the particular molded into one are the redundant characteristics of it&apos;s personality and thus the effective reception of all three philosophies was possible.
In Chapter 6, in light of all the material assessed previously, the study unravels the symbolic significance of ＜Hu Li Jing Gu Shi＞ in 《Liao-Zhai-Zhi-Yi》 into two themes; the entrusting of the ideal character and the creation of an ideal world. Pu Song Ling entrusted the image of the ideal man in ＜Hu Li Jing＞ and endowed ＜Hu Li Jing＞ with priuciples that the author himself considered idealistic, in order to create an ideal world through ＜Hu Li Jing＞ in this reality. In effect, ＜Hu Li Jing＞ was the constructor of Pu Song Ling&apos;s masterfully architected ideal world.
In conclusion, the significance of ＜Hu Li Jing Gu Shi＞ of 《Liao-Zhai-Zhi-Yi》in endowing ＜Hu Li Jing＞ with eternal and historical experience and the contemporary meanings of Pu Song Ling&apos;s time, is proven by it&apos;s idealistic perfection of the tradition of the &apos;humanization of Hu Li Jing&apos;.＜논문개요＞ = ⅲ

No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
