Épica INTA-Peman: 1. biomasa aérea y densidad = Timing and rate of nitrogen fertilization in Chloris gayana cv. Epica INTA-Peman: 1. Aboveground biomass and density
Publicado en: Revista Argentina de Producción Animal – RAPA 44 (Supl. 1) : 339. Uso de la radiación = Timing and rate of nitrogen fertilization on Chloris gayana cv. Epica INTA-Peman: 2. Use of radiation
Publicado en: Revista Argentina de Producción Animal – RAPA 44 (Supl. 1) : 340. IFISTRATEGY: Spanish National Survey of Invasive Fungal Infection in Hemato-Oncologic Patients
Recent advances in the treatment of hematologic malignancies have improved the overall survival rate, but the number of patients at risk of developing an invasive fungal infection (IFI) has increased. Invasive infections caused by non-Candida albicans species, non-Aspergillus molds, and azole-resistant Aspergillus fumigatus have been increasingly reported in recent years. We developed a cross-sectional multicenter survey which involved a total of 55 hematologists and infectious disease specialists from a total of 31 Spanish hospitals, to determine the most frequent strategies used for the management of IFIs. Data collection was undertaken through an online survey which took place in 2022. Regarding key strategies, experts usually prefer early treatment for persistent febrile neutropenia, switching to another broad-spectrum antifungal family if azole-resistant Aspergillus is suspected, broad-spectrum azoles and echinocandins as prophylactic treatment in patients receiving midostaurin or venetoclax, and liposomal amphotericin B for breakthrough IFIs after prophylaxis with echinocandins in patients receiving new targeted therapies. For antifungals failing to reach adequate levels during the first days and suspected invasive aspergillosis, the most appropriate strategy would be to associate an antifungal from another family

SARS-CoV-2 N protein IgG antibody detection employing nanoporous anodized alumina: A rapid and selective alternative for identifying naturally infected individuals in populations vaccinated with spike protein (S)-based vaccines
[EN] Methods to detect naturally infected individuals, especially during or after a pandemic, are valuable in populations with a high rate of vaccination. Having in mind that after the COVID-19 pandemic people has been vaccinated against the virus by Spike protein (S)-based vaccines, we present in this paper a novel nanosensor based on gated nanoporous anodic alumina (NAA) material to detect naturally infected individuals in populations with high rates of vaccination. The nanosensor developed is based on a protein-capped nanomaterial for the identification of IgG antibodies that can detect nucleocapsid protein (N) of SARS-CoV-2. The NAA material has been loaded with an indicator (Rhodamine B (RhB)) and the pores of the material have been blocked with SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein (N) attached to a specific aptamer. In presence of antibodies against this antigen, the pores are uncapped, triggering the dye release and a fluorescent signal as a result. The biosensor has been tested in vitro and simulated serum for IgG detection, proving a detection limit of 1 mu g/mL. Moreover, specificity assays with N proteins from other coronaviruses have proved the robustness and efficacy of this nanosensor. Finally, the system has been tested on samples from patients that contained SARS-CoV-2 antibodies, demonstrating its potential for the discrimination of individuals that have been vaccinated or infected by SARS-CoV-2 virus. This research was supported by projects PID2021-126304OB-C41, PID2021-128141OB-C22, and PID2021-122875OB-100 funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033/and by European Regional Development Fund-A way of doing Europe. Human Papilloma Virus DNA Detection in Clinical Samples Using Fluorogenic Probes Based on Oligonucleotide Gated Nanoporous Anodic Alumina Films
[EN] In this work, fluorogenic probes based on oligonucleotide capped nanoporous anodic alumina films are developed for specific and sensitive detection of human papilloma virus (HPV) DNA. The probe consists of anodic alumina nanoporous films loaded with the fluorophore rhodamine B (RhB) and capped with oligonucleotides bearing specific base sequences complementary to genetic material of different high-risk (hr) HPV types. Synthesis protocol is optimized for scale up production of sensors with high reproducibility. The sensors' surfaces are characterized by scanning electron microscopy (HR-FESEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) and their atomic composition is determined by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDXS). Oligonucleotide molecules onto nanoporous films block the pores and avoid diffusion of RhB to the liquid phase. Pore opening is produced when specific DNA of HPV is present in the medium, resulting in RhB delivery, that is detected by fluorescence measurements. The sensing assay is optimized for reliable fluorescence signal reading. Nine different sensors are synthesized for specific detection of 14 different hr-HPV types in clinical samples with very high sensitivity (100%) and high selectivity (93-100%), allowing rapid screening of virus infections with very high negative predictive values (100%).The authors gratefully acknowledge financial support projects for PID2021-126304OB-C41 and PDI2021-122875OB-100 funded by MCIN/AEI /10.13039/501100011033 / FEDER, UE, project DTS18/00090 from Instituto de Salud Carlos III and FEDER and Generalitat Valenciana (Project PROMETEO CIPROM/2021/007). CRISPR-Cas12a-Based Detection of SARS-CoV-2 Harboring the E484K Mutation
[EN] The novel respiratory virus SARS-CoV-2 is rapidly
evolving across the world with the potential of increasing its
transmission and the induced disease. Here, we applied the
CRISPR-Cas12a system to detect, without the need of sequencing,
SARS-CoV-2 genomes harboring the E484K mutation, first
identified in the Beta variant and catalogued as an escape
mutation. The E484K mutation creates a canonical protospacer
adjacent motif for Cas12a recognition in the resulting DNA
amplicon, which was exploited to obtain a differential readout. We
analyzed a series of fecal samples from hospitalized patients in
Valencia (Spain), finding one infection with SARS-CoV-2
harboring the E484K mutation, which was then confirmed by
sequencing. Overall, these results suggest that CRISPR diagnostics
can be a useful tool in epidemiology to monitor the spread of escape mutations. We thank M. Carmen Montaner, Javier Peman, Miguel Salavert, and Alba Ruiz from the Hospital Universitario y Politecnico La Fe for their support in the collection of the fecal samples. En el 40 aniversario de José María Pemán
The author vindicates the intellectual, human and Christian legacy of José María
Pemán, an outstanding writer and playwright of the last century, who has been subjected
to an unjust and sectarian cornering in recent decades. He especially emphasizes his profound knowledge of the soul of the people, as well as his commitment to a coherent living
of Christian values. The writting also underlines his concern as an intellectual for the deficient religious formation given in higher education, foreseeing the disastrous consequences that this would have on later generations. Peman permanently cultivated a deep sense of transcendence. A cooperator of the truth, he fought hard to raise the tone of intellectual life and to endow it with transcendence and with that Truth that is hidden in the
innermost depths of beings and in the secret depths of our consciences.

ABSTRACT This article aims at deepening the possibility of utilizing the art of photography that is rich of sig- nificance of the socio-cultural representation. The visual ethnographic field or photo-ethnography, which is relatively new, can provide assistance and answer for this. Therefore, the author has tried a form of collaboration between the photo-ethnographic approach and the sense approach in doing his research on the subject in order to obtain the deep understanding and the truth significance attached to them. The method of digital photography art creation which is intuitively the basis of the art cre- ation in digital domain, then was tried to be formulated, based on heuristics research in the process of the art of digital photography. This concept was developed from the experience in the field of digital photography and visual anthropology, guided by the basic theories of creativity, quantum theory in art, and theory of artistic creation that has existed before. Through emotional approach as a method, along with the structured systematic approach of photo-ethnography and with the deep awareness of the environment and social life of the subject leads to the creation of the image that tends to be better and more meaningful, more productive in a social sense, and offers a credible empiric documentation. Keywords: photo-ethnography, photography art works  ABSTRAK Artikel ini dibuat dalam upaya melakukan pendalaman mengenai kemungkinan peman- faatan seni fotografi yang kaya makna representasi sosio-kultural.
